In a video released by the makers of his next, Jagga Jasoos, Ranbir Kapoor candidly reveals that his sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, is the most irritating person in their family WhatsApp group. He also speaks about his father, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.

The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actor says they didn’t get to spend enough time with their dad as kids, because he would always be away for work. But whenever he wasn’t travelling, they would go for lunches and spend quality time together.

Ranbir Kapoor says he is a product of nepotism

From actors to singers to even crew members, many people claim to have been affected by this age old norm of putting family and friends first. While this phenomenon is not restricted to showbiz, stars are often being questioned to have a stand on the very same. So when Ranbir Kapoor was recently asked to share his views, instead of shying away, the actor embraced the fact that he is a “product of nepotism”. He further went on to share that films have been his family business from the last 85 years and if he has kids, he would like to provide them with a platform like his family did for him.

After superstar Salman Khan decided to compensate the distributors over Tubelight’s debacle, looks like Ranbir Kapoor is following in his footsteps. The actor said that if he makes money out of a film which hasn’t fared well at the box-office, he will definitely pay back the distributors.

At a promotional event of his upcoming film, Jagga Jasoos, Kapoor said, “The trend has been going on since my grandfather’s (Raj Kapoor) time in the 1950s… The style of making films where everyone makes money, not just the producers, but also distributors and exhibitors. It is a healthy exercise. If someone loses money on something and you have made money out of it, it’s good to compensate. But that depends on the person and film.”

Kapoor cited the example of his grandfather who followed a similar practice. “When Mera Naam Joker (1970) released, distributors incurred losses. So when Bobby (1973) released, my grandfather gave a bigger share to the distributors than the exhibitors. Personally, if my film fails and I am making money out of it, then I will pay back the distributors,” said Kapoor.

As soon as Jagga Jassos hits the marquee, Ranbir Kapoor will take off for New York for another schedule of Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on Sanjay Dutt. RK will be filming for some intense scenes in the Big Apple.

Dutt’s darkest phase of life was when he grappled with drug addiction and was in rehab in NY for two years to overcome the dependency. Hirani had done a location hunt in the US in November last year.

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif tointeract with city’s school kids on July 9

katrina_ranbirAn eventful Sunday has been planned for the city’s school kids on July 9, when Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will interact with them as part of promotions for their upcoming film, Jagga Jasoos.

The actors have blocked their dates to interact with kids of grades five to 12 from various schools of Mumbai at the event, which will be held at St. Andrew’s auditorium in Bandra. A few parents will also accompany them.

The duo will conduct a master class on the song Galti Se Mistake, which has caught the fancy of school-going children, given that they can relate to it.

The cast of Jagga Jasoos will conduct a quiz on the film, and will also take questions from their young audience members.

Ranbir and Katrina are extremely excited about interacting with the children. The former plays a school-going kid in the adventure drama. The Anurag Basu-directed project will hit screens on July 14.

kat-inset-khansKatrina Kaif may be busy promoting her upcoming film with former lover Ranbir Kapoor, but it’s the opportunity to work with the top three Khans of Bollywood that has her excited and feeling fortunate.

“It’s a coincidence that I am working with all of them around the same time,” says the actor, adding, “I am shooting for ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. Salman is an amazing co-star to work with. I am comfortable around him. Recently, I wrapped up the shoot for ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ with Aamir in Malta. His approach is meticulous, he is dedicated to his craft. And next is a film with Shah Rukh.”

Putting her failed relationship with Kapoor behind Katrina Kaif, she wishes to now focus on her work. “Over the last year-and-a-half, people have spoken more about my personal life. But I wish that the focus now shifts to my work. It hasn’t been easy to get back to the grind, but I am enjoying it,” she says.

Kaif’s last two Bollywood outings, ‘Fitoor’ and ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ (both 2016), didn’t fare well at the box office, and she doesn’t deny that failure bothers her. “When a film doesn’t do well after all the hard work [you put in], there is heartbreak. It’s not a good feeling. I’d love to experience box office acceptance.”

Last evening, Govinda vented his ire towards the ‘Jagga Jasoos’ makers, Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor, for cutting him out from the fantasy drama. Recently, Basu reportedly stated that Govinda is not part of the cast. In a series of tweets, Chi Chi alleged that he was taken for a ride.

He wrote, “I gave full respect to the Kapoor family and did the film because he is my senior’s son. I was told I will get the script. I was told they will narrate the film in South Africa. I didn’t charge a signing amount; made no contracts. I was unwell and on drips, but still travelled to South Africa for the shoot. There were various negative stories and articles against me and that’s how the film was remembered for three years. I did my job as an actor and if the director is not happy it’s completely his call (sic).”

Govinda, who played Ranbir’s father, is certainly in no mood to let bygones be bygones.

Katrina Kaif not happy about Ranbir Kapoor’s new-found love interest

After breaking up with Deepika Padukone, then Katrina Kaif, a report according to DNA states that the actor may have found new love in his life.

The report states that Ranbir Kapoor is dating a Mumbai-based girl, however she is not an actress, neither does she have anything to do with the film industry. Reportedly, she even joined him on one of the promotional events of ‘Jagga Jasoos.’ Not just that, she even met Ranbir’s ex, Katrina Kaif and the latter is definitely not happy about his new-found love interest.

The source added that it is not clear if Ranbir is simply hanging out with her, but it could be construed that he is rubbing his new object of affection in Katrina’s face, who is also hanging out with her ex, Salman Khan, these days. Ranbir is constantly on the phone and this seems to irritate Katrina. Their irritability and uncomfortable vibes were sensed by one and all, who attended the promotional events of ‘Jagga Jasoos’.
