Kareena Kapoor Khan to team-up with Punit Malhotra?

Bollywood diva and actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has shared a cryptic message on her Instagram page about a possible collaboration with director Punit Malhotra

The last time Kareena Kapoor Khan has full-fledged role in Dharma productions was in the 2013 movie ‘Gori Tere Pyar Mein’ directed by Punit Malhotra, which sank without a trace at the box-office. She had a cameo in the film ‘Brothers’ in the song ‘Mary’ which had released in 2015. Post that, Kareena was seen in R.Balki’s  ‘Ki And Ka’ and then she went on a maternity break. After giving birth to son Taimur Ali Khan, Kareena immediately plunged into shooting for ‘Veere Di Wedding’ a women-oriented film along with Sonam Kapoor. But from the looks of her latest Instagram post, Kareena may have signed her next project. 

Kareena is posing with director Punit Malhotra and has captioned the image says’ Coming soon’. 

Interestingly, Punit Malhotra will also be helming ‘Student Of The Year 2’ and Karan Johar has only confirmed the casting of Tiger Shroff in the film. We wonder if Bebo is planning to star in ‘SOTY 2’ or is working on an entirely new project with Punit Malhotra. Their last outing together ‘Gori Tere Pyar Mein’ also starred Imran Khan and the movie was heavily panned. Karan Johar is known for his fondness for Kareena and must have definitely approached her to come onboard for yet another important project of his. 

‘Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year’ was the launch vehicle for actors Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Rumours are rife that Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya Pandey will be starring in ‘SOTY 2’.

'Student Of The Year' sequel put on backburner?

Karan Johar announced a sequel to Student Of The Year (2012) over a year ago. To be helmed by Punit Malhotra, it stars Tiger Shroff.

In the last few days, KJo has been making announcements galore about his upcoming productions, which include Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan and Kesari with Akshay Kumar. There has been silence on the Student Of The Year 2 front.

It was said that Punit was reworking the script. Names of several star kids like Jahnvi Kapoor did the rounds, besides Tiger’s rumoured girlfriend Disha Patani as probable female actors. Nothing moved on the front and now there’s buzz that it has been put on the backburner.
