‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ has always been the one show that has not just entertained people but also given them wings to dream and fly high. There are some who have won thousand and lakhs, while there are few who have become crorepatis after coming to this show.

Remember Sushil Kumar from Bihar who won 5 crore rupees, leaving everyone stunned? And finally, Amitabh Bachchan’s KBC 9 has got its first ‘Crorepati’ of this season.

Meet Anamika Majumdar from Jamshedpur who has created history by winning the whopping price amount of Rs 1 crore.

Married and mother of two, Anamika runs an NGO called ‘Faith in India’, that works for rural areas of Jharkhand. And now she plans to invest the amount she has won in her NGO and take her work forward.

Interestingly, she didn’t only win a huge amount but also qualified for Rs 7 crore. But instead of bagging more bucks she made a wise choice and settled to take home a crore.

Well, many might think that she should have opted for the ‘Big’ question, but we feel she made a great decision.  After all, the show is rife with moments where contestants could have gone home with a big, fat pocket, but lost every single penny.

Kudos Anamika!

The show has been on air for a month now but Anamika is the first contestant to bag the title of ‘Crorepati’.

It goes without saying that the lady put up an exemplary show, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats as she proceeded forward in the most watched quiz on Indian television.

The next episode that we can’t wait for features Indian badminton champion, PV Sindhu. Ohhhh! This is going to be nothing short of pure awesomeness! Don’t miss it.

For Mumbai girl Diana Penty, the idea of shooting in a smaller city steeped in history seemed exciting. The actress had been there once a long time ago, just for a day though. And when she revisited the Uttar Pradesh capital on a weeklong schedule for Farhan Akhtar-starrer Lucknow Central, she knew she had to do all things touristy, albeit for a few hours.

On a day when she was relatively free, Diana hopped onto a toto rickshaw to slake her wanderlust. “The people are so warm and there is so much history to the city. I did a bit of sightseeing. It was quite an experience,” says Diana, adding that there were no crazy fan encounters. “I am pretty good at blending in,” she adds. Given that she is also a foodie, the actress did an exhaustive research on what and where to eat in Lucknow. “I even asked for recommendations on Twitter and the responses were very helpful. The chaat and kebabs were to die for, not to mention the biryani.”

By the end of the day, Diana could feel her purse getting lighter and shopping bags heavier. She splurged heavily on the famous Lucknowi chikankari fare. “Now that summer is here, I wanted to buy a few pastel pieces for my wardrobe. I ended up buying a lot as gifts for friends and family as well,” she adds. Diana plays an NGO worker in Lucknow Central. Farhan will be seen as a prisoner with musical aptitude.
