Singer Benny Dayal, whose new romantic single Sunwai released on Monday, says music has always been his religion. “Music has always been my religion. It’s one thing that keeps me going in life. ‘Sunwai’ is a lovely romantic track and one of the finest love songs that I’ve sung till date. I’m sure people will love and cherish it as much as I do,” Benny said in a statement.

He is known for foot-tapping numbers like Badtameez dil, Let’s naacho and Udey dil befikre. Sunwai, his first romantic track with Times Music, is composed by Naresh Sharma, father of composer Mithoon, with Anand Seshadri who has also written the lyrics of the song. The music video features popular Indian actor Gautam Rode and dancer-actress Natasa Stankovic.

Gautam said the video shoot was “pretty exciting”. The song depicts the notion that love doesn’t always come easily – it demands loyalty and faithfulness.

The recently concluded star-studded award show, IIFA 2017, will be remembered for various reasons – glamorous beauties and dapper actors walking the green carpet, best talents getting acknowledged for their hard work and some of our favourite movies getting their due in the form of awards. But, of all these reasons, there was one that took the award show to a harmonious and soulful level. It became a memorable night for all the fans of Oscar and Grammy winner A.R. Rahman, who rocked the award night and set the stage on fire with his fabulous live performance. However, this isn’t even the best part. Rahman was honoured for his 25 years of musical journey at the award show.

It’s ironic how one section of the world was appreciating Rahman’s work and breaking in cheers and ‘encore’ during his performance, there were some who didn’t have ears to appreciate good music and walked out of his London concert because he sang Tamil songs. However, unfazed by this disrespectful gesture, Rahman performed at IIFA Rocks at the MetLife stadium and was joined by stalwarts like Diljit Dosanjh, Benny Dayal, Neeti Mohan, Jonita Gandhi and Javed Ali. He reportedly said, “I am thankful to you all for coming and supporting the concert…love you.”

Feeling excited to perform along with Rahman, singer Mika said “I am feeling very happy and proud that he (Rahman) called me here. make some noise for Rahman sir. Love you all.” ‘Naddan Parindey’, ‘Dil Hai Chota Sa’, ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’, ‘Bin Tere Kya Jeena’ and ‘Mere Paas Hai Tu’ were some of the mesmerising numbers he sang. Unlike the thankless crowd from his London concert, people cheered loudly when he performed songs like ‘Urvasi Urvasi’ and ‘Humma Humma’.
