Even before its release, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘2.0′ has been stirring quite a storm by releasing images and videos from behind the scenes. Earlier this year, the makers shared a glimpse of their magnum-opus project, through a short clip that showed how the team is gearing up for one of biggest releases of 2018 that will be larger than life. Well, when you have two stalwarts in one frame even terms like ‘unparalleled’ and ‘exceptional’ are understatements.

While our excitement has already reached the pinnacle, the makers are ensuring that it stays there until the movie’s release, by sharing awesome videos of the film’s making. Director Shankar is spreading his Midas touch on ‘2.0′ and thanks to him our curiosity and excitement is growing with each passing day. And if you feel that we are exaggerating about the potential of this film, then this video is for you. For those who don’t know, this movie has been shot using the latest 3D technology cameras directly.
While talking about the film, Rajinikanth said “I was mesmerized when I saw the first shot in 3D on the screen. I was repeatedly watching it.” Akshay Kumar too voiced his opinion stating that “Working in 3D was much harder than I imagined. From the film set to every single shot, it was important for everything to be perfect.” The actors were joined by the film’s cinematographer Nirav Shah, and lead stereographer Ray Hannisian who further discussed about the challenges and efforts that go in while shooting a 3D movie. Hannisian has earlier worked with big guns like Katy Perry, U2 and The Black Eyed Peas.

As we all eagerly await the release of this promising film, this 3D featurette gives us an idea of how opulent and kickass this movie is going to be. While Rajinikanth reprises his role as Dr. Vaseegaran, Akshay Kumar is making his Kollywood debut and will play the role of his nemesis. Actress Amy Jackson too is a part of this project. After watching this video, we can say that this movie is going to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2018, possibly surpassing the likes of ‘Baahubali’ and Stephen King’s ‘It’. It is slated for a January release.
