She has reportedly claimed that on one occasion, she was stuck in traffic and was running late. Realising that she would take a while to reach the venue, the organisers presented her Supporting Actor award for Life… In A Metro (2007) to Soha Ali Khan for Rang De Basanti (2006) instead.

On another occasion, she was told that she would be given a Supporting Actor award for Krrish 3 (2013), but as she was in the US and unable to fly down, the organisers gave it to Supriya Pathak for Ram Leela (2013) instead. Kangs has opened a Pandora’s box again.
