What is ‘Race’ without Saif Ali Khan? Every time you think of this film, Saif’s character Ranvir Singh comes to your mind. The persona of the character that he created is not an easy one to forget. Such was his charm that not just the first instalment but even the sequel did wonders at the box office.
From his quick-badass wit to his style of dressing, everything he did just made us love him even more. So naturally, it did come as a big surprise when Saif’s name wasn’t in the cast of ‘Race 3’. Yeah, it was quite disappointing and we will not lie about that.
The third instalment of the franchise has Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol, Saqib Saleem, Freddy Daruwala and Daisy Shah. Well, that’s an interesting medley of talent and Abbas-Mustan totally knows how to make a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seats.
But Saif’s presence will be missed. Recently, Saif was asked why he isn’t a part of the film and, speaking to IANS, he revealed that the film was, of course, offered to him but he didn’t connect with the part that was offered.
“Ramesh Taurani said I’m making a completely different movie this time with a totally different story. I was offered a part but Salman Khan is the best thing to happen to anybody. He’s the biggest star in the country. I didn’t feel a connection myself with the part I was offered. So, I decided to do something else.”
No doubt Salman makes entertaining films but we will miss Saif for sure!
