Take any Disney princess movie or a Hollywood High society teen drama, and you will find people waltzing around in big flowing gowns and suits. They were events where people made their official debut aka introduced themselves to the society or the beginner’s or debutante ball. Well, if you don’t want to go that far, we can talk about the Yule Ball in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’, which was a similar event.

The point is we often thought that these parties were exaggerated fragments of our imagination and I am sure I am not alone in thinking this way. If you too thought that such events existed only in movies or fairytales, then all of us were possibly living under a rock all this while, because a similar glamorous ball just took place in real life and let’s just say fairytale is an understatement in front of it.

Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris is an society event, that brings together over 20 girls and boys from prestigious families from across the world. The event was started in 1992 by Ophélie Renouard and the purpose of this ball is to raise funds for charity that further assists girls. Every year around Thanksgiving this glamorous ball is organized where kids from business families, star kids and royalty are selected to make their official public debut. This year the event took place in the French capital at The Peninsula Paris.

So why are we discussing this event? Because this year marked the debut of actor Chunky Panday’s daughter Ananya who looked stunning in a blue gown designed by Parisian couturier Jean Paul Gaultier at the ball.

Apart from Ananya, Indian royalty Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur and Princess Gauravi Kumari too attended the debut ball.

Just in case we forgot to mention, Maharaja Padmanabh Singh was partnered with the beautiful Ava Phillippe, daughter and can we say doppelganger of actress Reese Witherspoon. How strikingly similar the two look, can be figured from this picture.

You know your movie is in trouble when people talk about an airbrushed moustache more than the plot and powers of the superheroes in the film itself. When you release a movie that has a powerful star-cast, it often gets difficult for viewers to focus on each and every actor, at least not all the time. Well, it was tough to imagine anything outshining the superheroes’ powers in the movie. If at all we had to focus on someone, it would have either been Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, or Khal Drogo from ‘Game Of Thrones’, i.e. Jason Momoa who played Aquaman.

But, for most people, it was Henry Cavill who managed to stand out from the crowd and it’s not because he is Superman; but because he has a moustache that cannot be removed. At least not for the time being!

Amidst mixed reviews, ‘Justice League’ will most definitely be remembered for only one thing – Henry Cavill’s moustache and the botched result of using CGI to remove it digitally.

How do you know that the person in front of you is filthy rich? When that person sleeps on a bed of money since his bed sheet has gone in for a wash. Yeah, we know the comparison is weird but that’s exactly what happened here. Warner Bros. spent $25 million to digitally remove the moustache using CGI and the result is this!

Did they not know about razors? Or was it some ‘vaastu’ trick that required Cavill to not shave while filming the scenes?

So, here’s what happened. Henry Cavill was simultaneously shooting for ‘Justice League’ and ‘Mission: Impossible 6’. For one he had to be clean-shaven and for the other he had to have a moustache. Maybe, Paramount Pictures was so impressed with Cavill’s moustache, that they forbade him from shaving it. Given how the whole world looks up to Hollywood when it comes to use of wigs, fake beards, moustaches or other accessories; it’s funny that Paramount did not settle for anything else but the real one. Things would have been really easy for everyone had Paramount come to terms with Warner Bros.

So, while Cavill was busy shooting for ‘Mission: Impossible 6’, the visual effects team of ‘Justice League’ too were involved in an impossible mission – to remove Cavill’s moustache using CGI and botch his face in the process.

Twitter is tough to impress and has no favourites when it comes to meme-ing the hell out of someone. This time around too Twitter was savage in pointing out the error and let’s just say, we now have one more reason to watch the movie again.

For those who saw the movie, you will remember that at least up until the interval, Krrish believed that his scientist father was dead and it was only when he follows Priyanka to Singapore that he realizes his father is actually alive. This movie treads on a similar path as well.

A young girl sets out to find her astrophysicist father, after she finds out that he was alive all this while and held captive on a distant planet under the grip of a universe-spanning evil. In fact, the trailer also has traces of ‘Koi…Mil Gaya’ with scenes where the kid tries to show off the ubercool skills she learnt from her father and the fancy devices he created to travel to the stars.

We are still blaming you!

The trailer started on a really good note and had us hooked within the first few seconds with the kids discussing parallel dimensions and a bit of sci-fi action taking place in the backdrop. The story begins with a girl named Meg Murry who along with her younger brother, Charles Wallace, and friend Calvin O’Keefe, set off to find her missing father. Halfway into their journey, they are joined by Mrs. Which, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Whatsit (Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling and Reese Witherspoon) who help her become a powerful warrior. Can someone please tell us where is Mr. What’s Going On Here?

Amidst the discussions and debates on finding her missing father and unraveling the secrets of universe, the best solution the makers could come up with was to throw the girl inside a fantasy world with witches and mystical creatures guiding her to become a warrior. Was cosmology too intelligent for the directors or did they simply choose toddlers to work on the remaining script? But, if you like science-fiction and fantasy, then this one might interest you.

After a minute or so, the trailer becomes weird with Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling and Zack Galifianakis donning some hideous costumes, trying to train her to fight the evil forces of the universe. At one point, you might get confused and think that you accidently switched to ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Avatar’.

Honestly, when the trailer started, we were vouching for this film to be among the best movies of 2018, but just a few seconds in and when we’re already overloaded with a power-packed star-cast, the makers decided to get rid of logic because that’s the easiest trick in the boom.

But, we guess that’s how this movie is meant to be as it is an adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s bestselling novel. So, if you believe in a fanciful parallel world with mystical creatures fighting evil forces, then you will definitely love this. The film is also helmed by Ava DuVernay. The movie is slated to release on March 9, 2018 and given the hype around it, we can’t really wait to see how events unfold.

Tiger Shroff, who will work with Dharma Productions for the first time, is excited about being a part of this film and the pressure that comes with it. Also, his casual and dapper look in the poster is what is making several heads turn in excitement.

Although, currently we don’t have any details about other cast members, according to the reports, the film might have two lead actresses. The movie is expected to release in 2018.

Currently, Shroff is busy with ‘Baaghi 2’ opposite Disha Patani. Well, Shroff junior is also set to step into Sylvester Stallone’s shoes for the Indian remake of the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Rambo’.

After a long hiatus of 17 years, the coveted crown of Miss World has finally come to India and as expected our happiness and pride knows no bounds. The woman who made this happen, who made the whole nation proud, is 20-year-old Medical student from Haryana, Manushi Chhillar. Manushi is the sixth Indian to win this prestigious title. ‘Quantico’ star aka our Desi girl, Priyanka Chopra had won the title in 2000.

Manushi defeated beauties from over 108 countries to win the crown, in a dazzling ceremony held at Sanya City Arena, China. The crown was passed on to the new queen by Stephanie Del Valle, Miss World 2016 from Puerto Rico.

“The feeling is still sinking in and I am very excited to make India proud too. I’m also looking forward to the year ahead,” Manushi was quoted saying in a statement after this exceptional victory. However, apart from her win, it’s her amazing answer that has stunned the whole world and filled our hearts with respect for her at the same time.

When asked about “Which profession deserves the highest salary and why?” This is what Manushi said, “I think a mother deserves the highest respect and when you talk about salary it’s not always about cash but I feel it’s the love and respect that you give to someone. My mother has always been the biggest inspiration in my life. All mothers sacrifice so much for their kids. So, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary.” Well said, girl!

Manushi’s victory opened the floodgates of congratulatory messages from all corners of the country. 'The Incredibles' Gets A Sequel After 13 Long Years With Jack-Jack Unleashing His Fiery Attack

Not all heroes wear capes, some wear diapers and bring along bundles of joy fire with them. Well, if you are a 90s kid and binge-watched ‘The Incredibles’ instead of playing outdoors, you will know who we are talking about – Jack-Jack. The adorably dangerous baby who was responsible for the end of the evil ‘Syndrome’.

Now, the super cute toddler Jack-Jack is coming back and Disney just confirmed it by teasing us with this short trailer.

Finally it’s happening! ‘The Incredibles’ now has a sequel. But this much-anticipated teaser is so short that if you sneeze after opening the video, chances are you will miss out the whole thing by the time you are done wiping your nose. (Yeah, we know we exaggerated.)

But, like people say that good things come in small packages, this teaser too was an entertaining one despite being short. It instantly takes you on a nostalgic trip as the flashback from the 2004 movie starts playing in our minds.

The teaser is out and by the looks of it, the movie will pick up from where the first one left – the family comes back home after defeating Syndrome, only to realize that their toddler isn’t any ordinary baby, but is actually a ball of fire with his own superpowers. This movie will be Jack-Jack’s own individual film where he will be seen possessing every superpower imaginable and we are not complaining at all.

Now that the sequel hints at focusing on Jack-Jack, guess who is going to be super-excited? Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl? No. Dash and Violet? No. It’s Edna Mode, their irritable fashion designer who will now get to use her sass to make an ubercool superhero suit for Jack-Jack.

We even hope that Kari McKeen gets hired permanently as Jack-Jack’s babysitter. I mean, who else can deal with a shape-shifting, fire spewing baby as ‘calmly’ as her?

Almost 13 years ago, the Parr family came in our lives and took the whole world by storm. One big guy stuck in his white collar job, his whiney wife who is going crazy managing her kids; they looked like a normal family from outside, but secretly all of them were actually ‘supers’ who used their superpowers one last time to defeat the villain and his robots to change the fate of the world. Now it’s time for Jack-Jack to shine and we are confident that Brad Bird won’t disappoint us this time as well.

‘The Incredibles’ wasn’t just a movie, it was much more than that and kids today can never understand our excitement and feelings that were attached with this film back then. This was a film that was once etched deep in our hearts and was at one point loved more than ‘Justice League’ and ‘Avengers’ combined (or maybe not, opinion may differ).

So, let’s take a deep breath and gear up to push aside all the kids to make it to the line of the movie tickets, because the much-awaited movie ‘incredibles 2’ belongs to us more than anyone else. The movie is slated for a June 15, 2018 release.

What happens when Hollywood legends Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg come under one roof? An explosion of awesomeness! Seriously, this deadly combination has all the possibilities to win an Oscar. The trailer that was released recently only goes on to prove why we and every other person who has seen a glimpse of this period film might be right in considering it Oscar-worthy.

We are talking about the upcoming movie ‘The Post’, which surprisingly marks the first ever collaboration of Hanks, Streep and Spielberg. Why did Hollywood not think of pairing the three legends earlier? Well, their 2015 release ‘Everything Is Copy’ cannot really be considered their first movie as it was a documentary on the life of writer and filmmaker Nora Ephron.

Set in the backdrop of 1970s America, ‘The Post’ follows the journey of Kay Graham (Meryl Streep), the country’s first female newspaper publisher of The Washington Post, who joins forces with the Editor Ben Bradlee (Tom Hanks), to unravel some of the deepest and darkest secrets and lies of the government.

Can the two journalists overcome their differences to expose a massive cover-up that might hold the key to the buried secrets of the government, which spanned three decades and four US Presidents? This ethical dilemma of choosing to save their skins or putting everything (their life, careers, freedom) at stake for what is right, weaves the rest of the plot.

The press and the government have always been at loggerheads for reasons everyone knows but never talks about. They are like a bickering couple, who can never come to terms with each other and will always have something or the other to blame. It’s a clear “can’t live with them or without them” situation.

Honestly, there could not have been a better time for Spielberg to come up with a movie like this. After Donald Trump’s win in the 2017 Presidential Elections, the government’s rift with the press and the media’s frustration has only worsened and become more evident. Earlier, this year Streep even called out President Trump during her speech at the Golden Globes. So, it will be interesting to see how Spielberg weaves his magic around this sensitive issue and turns it into a movie that both the press and government might look forward to.

‘The Post’ also stars Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Sarah Paulson, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Zach Woods. The mere mention of names like Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and the fact that they will touch base with one of the most controversial issues in the history of America, has catapulted our excitement into space. We cannot be more eager to watch this promising masterpiece that is slated to release on December 22, 2017.

With the release of some remarkable movies like ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, and a couple more lined up for the next two months, 2017 has been quite an eventful year for Bollywood so far. While, most of us are looking forward to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’, let’s not forget that Salman Khan is right behind him, all set to blow our minds away with ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’.

Yash Raj Films today dropped the much-awaited trailer of the movie and we have now officially lost our chill. In 2012, Tiger, an Indian spy came into our lives along with his leading lady, Zoya (Katrina Kaif) who turned out to be a Pakistani agent. The two love birds disappeared from the radar of RAW and ISI and while we were dreaming about the two living a happy life, chilling on a beach with their kids; turns out that spies can’t stay away from beating the lights out of bad guys for long.

Fast forward five years and our lethal duo are back in action, this time for a combined mission to eliminate a common enemy, Abu Usman, whose accent is harder to decode than a doctor’s prescription. But, we guess Salman can decipher his language, so he was summoned (don’t ask how the agencies got hold of him now when they couldn’t in 2012, technology maybe) to take the matter in his hands.

Set in the backdrop of Iraq, an evil dictator and his terrorist organisation kidnaps a group of Indian nurses, Salman’s mission is to save them from their evil clutches. In the first few seconds of the trailer, you realize what you are signing up for –killer fighting sequences, shots being fired and bombs exploding everywhere, cars and buildings blowing up and lots and lots of classic kickass action. Don’t get confused, Rohit Shetty is not a part of this film, other directors too can blow up cars like a pro. The trailer looks amazing and there’s not even a single frame that will make you snooze.

While Salman was possibly chugging down some magical potion that was originally kept hidden with Rambo, James Bond or Terminator; Katrina Kaif seems to have taken a sip as well before dealing with the bad guys. From killing terrorists with a gun that’s bigger than her face without blinking an eyelid and taking down enemies like it’s nobody’s business; Katrina is the new superhero in the block, sans the power of Wonder Woman.

Salman Khan and epic dialogues go hand in hand and he continues this legacy in this one too. “Shikaar to sab karte hai, lekin Tiger se behtar shikaar koi nahi karta.” We won’t be surprised if this statement goes down in the golden pages of Bollywood as one of the most intense dialogues ever (for reasons most of us are already aware of), after Gabbar’s “Kitne Aadmi The” and Shahenshah’s “Rishte me to hum tumhare baap lagte hai.”

The trailer looks promising and Ali Abbar Zafar has done a commendable job in turning ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ into a spy movie that every Hollywood or Bollywood actor would like to be a part of. The movie is slated to release on December 22.

We just love to hate Bollywood villains and basically all those who play negative roles and try to bring doom upon our heroes. We thought our hatred will remain the same for Alauddin Khilji, who is being brought to reel-life by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But, all that hate vanished when Ranveer Singh appeared in the trailer, leaving us gasping for air.

With kohl-lined eyes, wild tresses, a deadly stare and a scar across his face, Ranveer portrayes Sultan Khilji with such perfection that we feel the role was meant only for him. After sporting a long mane and beard and living the lavish lifestyle of a Sultan, Ranveer has finally parted ways with Mr. Khilji. Yes, Singh is now back to the basics and by the looks of his new haircut, it seems he is all set to sweep women off their feet with this boy-next-door look. While speculations are rife about this being a ‘post-breakup’ haircut , we are eagerly waiting for Deepika Padukone’s reaction to this chic look.

With not even a month left for the movie to hit the theatres on December 1, all eyes are now glued to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus project ‘Padmavati’. And as fresh controversies continue to pour in; our excitement too is reaching a pinnacle. From the vandalism on the sets to the actors’ first looks from the movie, ‘Padmavati’ has been turning several heads and how, making this wait harder for us with each passing day.
