Director Ayan Mukerji’s last-minute decision to shoot the scene on a busy thoroughfare meant producer Karan Johar had to procure additional permissions. The scene requires a three-kilometre stretch in a suburb to be cordoned off. The authorities also have to divert traffic to avoid jams.

The upcoming fantasy adventure trilogy titled “Brahmastra” is directed by Ayan Mukerji. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor. Singer-composer Ankit Tiwari is all set to marry fiance Pallavi Shukla, a match made by his grandmother

Ankit Tiwari all set to marry Pallavi Shukla on February 23

Singer-composerAnkit Tiwariis all set to marry fiance Pallavi Shukla, a match made by his grandmother. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, it was Ankit’s paternal grandmother who first met Pallavi while travelling from Kanpur to Delhi. Pallavi was in the same compartment as Ankit’s grandmother. The two started chatting and hit it off instantly. Dadi knew she’d found the perfect match for her musician grandson, who according to his mother Suman Tiwari, had “no time for love” and often misses family gatherings because of work commitments.

The couple will get engaged on February 20 followed by a traditional haldi, sangeet and mehendi ceremony. Later, they will get married in a typical North Indian style in Kanpur on February 23. The duo will host a reception on February 26. The families will also host a reception in Mumbai once Ankit returns from his Delhi, Chandigarh and Kolkata tours by the month-end.

“Usually weddings in our family last 10-12 days, but Ankit doesn’t have the time. His shows are booked months in advance and we worked around his dates,” Ankit’s older brother Ankur, who also manages his work, says, adding that his conservative in-laws don’t wish to share a pic of the bride-to-be before the pheras.

The couple will dance to the tunes of Ankit’s award-winning Aashiqui 2 track ‘Sunn Raha Hai Na Tu’ as well as his other chartbusters, ‘Galliyan’ and ‘O Yara’. The groom describes his first meeting with Pallavi in Mumbai as a “private and personal affair”. “Once dadi announced that Pallavi would be the family’s daughter-in-law, everyone agreed. I’m happy that the family is happy and a little nervous too. She is a very sweet and simple girl. During our first meeting there were 10 others seated between us,” Ankit laughs.

Pallavi hails from Bangalore and is a mechanical engineer by profession. “I’ve introduced her and her family to my work and life in Mumbai where she will live after marriage,” Ankit told the publication.

Raj Kapoor’s films might have travelled to China, but his son Randhir Kapoor revealed that the actor-filmmaker never visited the country as he did not want fans to see him after his weight gain

Raj Kapoor’s films might have travelled to China, but his son Randhir Kapoor revealed that the actor-filmmaker never visited the country as he did not want fans to see him after his weight gain. Randhir said his father’s films were so popular in China that the late actor once received an invitation to visit the country.

“One day, he called me and said he got an invite to visit China because his films are very popular there and we all are going to China! He was very excited and so were we. “While we were making arrangements, two days later he called me and said, ‘I am thinking, let’s not go to China’. He said, ‘They are in love with the Raj Kapoor of ‘Awaara’, ‘Shree 420′ and look at my size now! I don’t look like that anymore’!” he said.

Randhir said despite being the pioneer of Hindi films in China, the actor never visited the country as he did not want to disappoint his fans. “He said, ‘Russia has been seeing me over the years in various sizes so they accept me even now, but I don’t want to disappoint all my fans and break the image (in China). I am not the Raj Kapoor they think I am’,” recalling the conversation with his father, he said. “That was the actor in him speaking.

He didn’t go. All his life he never went to China! He is still very popular, his films are very popular. Now all our films are going there (China) but he was the pioneer who took our films there. But the actor in him didn’t want to break the image,” he added. Randhir, along with brothers Rishi Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor, was speaking at a panel discussion last night during ‘Raj Kapoor Awards for Excellence in Entertainment’. The session was moderated by journalist Shekhar Gupta. Randhir said of all the characters his father played, the ‘common man’ role is his personal favourite.

“He created the ‘common man’ character Raju for himself. One of my favourite films of his — not produced or directed by him — is ‘Anari’, which again had the same common man which Hrishikesh (Mukherjee) da took (inspiration from). I like the common man character,” he said. Rishi said ‘Anand’ was originally written for his father. The role was later played by Rajesh Khanna.

“He missed two films which he couldn’t do which were created for him. One was ‘Anand’. Hrishi da had discussed it with him, he wanted to make it with him,” he said. “The second film was L V Prasad’s ‘Milan’, which later had Sunil Dutt and Nutan. That’s why all the songs are sung by Mukesh. Prasadji waited for papa but he was busy with something else so he couldn’t do it,” he added. Rishi also revealed that his father nearly missed the opportunity of being directed by legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray.

“Originally ‘Jaagte Raho’ was offered to Satyajit Ray to direct but he wasn’t available. That’s why the the whole crew was Bengali in the film because Dada was supposed to direct it… My father missed being directed by Ray and, in fact, my grandfather just missed being directed by the great Rabindranath Tagore in another film,” he said. Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy was conferred the first ‘Raj Kapoor Awards for Excellence in Entertainment’ at the event. Director R Balki, who recently directed “Padman”, and Umesh Shukla, the helmer of “Oh My God”, were also honoured. The event was a part of the two-day ‘Elevate 2K18’ bi-annual conclave, held here.

Just before the clock struck midnight to usher in the Valentine’s Day, Anushka Sharma released an ‘I Love You’ message on her social media handle through Pari’s third screamer. With it, the actress reminded her fans that the trailer of her soon-to-release atmospheric horror flick ‘Pari’ will be out tomorrow! The short video shows Anushka and Parambrata Chatterjee sitting on a couch, where, Anushka tells him ‘I Love You’ in a dreadful tone. Later, she hallucinates herself drenched in blood on the other side of the couch, which remains a mystery!

The makers of Anushka Sharma’s ‘Pari’ had released the film’s teaser that intrigued everyone! Anushka as a ghost is at her best and reminds us that she is an ocean of versatility and can pull off any character with perfection. The teaser showed Anushka’s ghost, who harasses Parambrata Chatterjee’s character with her baritone voice; seemingly revenge! What got one hooked and curious is Anushka’s encounter with the real ghost in a ‘bloodied’ look that spells various shades to her character. Amidst the era of remakes, biopics and book adaptations, ‘Pari’ comes as a whisk of fresh air in the ‘horror’ territory – a genre challenging to ace. However, the teaser looks promising.

Directed by debutant Prosit Roy, the film also stars Parambrata Chatterjee, Rajat Kapoor and Ritabhari Chakraborty. ‘Pari’, produced by Clean Slate Films, is presented by KriArj Entertainment and Kyta Productions and will be released worldwide by Pooja Films on March 02, 2018.

Actress Lena Dunham has revealed that she underwent hysterectomy to combat endometriosis pain

Lena Dunham

Actress Lena Dunham has revealed that she underwent hysterectomy to combat endometriosis pain. She has spoken about the condition, which results from abnormal tissue growth in the uterus, in the March 2018 issue of Vogue magazine, reports variety.com. Dunham said she underwent a total hysterectomy, or the removal of her cervix and uterus. The Endometriosis Foundation excerpted the article on its website.

“In addition to endometrial disease, an odd hump-like protrusion, and a septum running down the middle, I have retrograde bleeding aka my period running in reverse so that my stomach is full of blood,” Dunham wrote. “My ovary has settled in on the muscles around the sacral nerves in my back that allow us to walk. Let’s please not even talk about my uterine lining. The only beautiful detail is that the organ, which is meant to be shaped like a light bulb, was shaped like a heart.”

Dunham has been repeatedly hospitalised and has undergone multiple surgeries to try to treat her condition. She was even declared endometriosis-free last April, although a month later she was rushed to the hospital and had to cancel her “Lenny IRL” tour after she reported feeling the “greatest amount of physical pain that I have ever experienced”. Despite having her reproductive organs removed, Dunham said that she still intends to have children via surrogacy or adoption.

“I may have felt choiceless before, but I know I have choices now. Soon I’ll start exploring whether my ovaries, which remain someplace inside me in that vast cavern of organs and scar tissue, have eggs. Adoption is a thrilling truth I’ll pursue with all my might,” she said.
