When you’ve played a character for almost two decades, it can be very hard to let go of it. And, it seems like Hugh Jackman is also having a hard time letting go of ‘Wolverine’, which is totally understandable.

Even though he was pretty adamant about the fact that ‘Logan’ would be the last time he would be portraying ‘Wolverine’, it looks like he’s having second thoughts now. With ‘Logan’, we bid farewell to the iconic character as he was killed for good. Or, so we thought.

While we were having a hard time coming to terms with seeing ‘Wolverine’ for the last time, even Hugh Jackman wasn’t able to say goodbye just yet.

Sebastian Stan recently revealed a very interesting conversation he had with Hugh Jackman once, and it’s giving us the glimmer of hope we need to go forward this year. Just to refresh your memory, Stan plays Captain America’s best friend and war buddy, turned mind-wiped assassin, Bucky Barnes (aka The Winter Soldier), and he’s has been in all three films and will feature heavily in this year’s Avengers: Infinity War.

While at a Comic-Con event, where he appeared alongside co-stars Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie, he talked about his conversation with Hugh, where the two discussed the possibility of him joining the MCU.

He said, “Recently, I happened to be sitting next to Hugh Jackman. I didn’t know what other awkward thing I could talk about, but to be like, ‘Am I going to see you soon?’ I don’t know, but he said a couple things to me and I’ll just leave it at that. Otherwise, I think I’m going to get into trouble.”

“I asked him cause I kept thinking whether or not he said Logan was supposed to be the last Wolverine thing. He said to me what’s probably been said out there that he’s been thinking about it and it’s on his mind. So, I don’t know.”

You know what’s making this revelation even more exciting and plausible? The fact that towards the end of 2017, Disney, who owns Marvel Studios, recently bought back the film rights to both the X-Men and the Fantastic Four from Fox studios. This means that there is a huge possibility of both of the teams making their debut in the MCU.

And, to make things even better, Chris Hemsworth also revealed recently that he wants to ‘coax him’ back into the role. He was asked which character he’d love to see in the MCU and to that, he replied, “… Wolverine, just because I love that character, you know what I mean? I just love Hugh Jackman. Unfortunately, he died in the last movie, didn’t he? We can bring him back to life… Now that you’ve informed me that it’s a possibility I’m going to get on the one phone and try to coax him over or convince him and see if he has one more in him.”

Honestly, we can’t even imagine someone else playing ‘Wolverine’ and hopefully everything works out so we can get Hugh Jackman out of retirement and see him reprise his iconic role at least once again.
