Watching Ajay Devgn as an officer clad in uniform is something we are all used to by now. And we have to give it to the man for playing such roles with extreme finesse. But you know what’d be more interesting? Seeing him as a hero WITHOUT the uniform and luckily for us, that’s exactly what his upcoming film ‘Raid’ promises.

We got our first look at the film with the poster, which shows Ajay sitting among what looks like heaps of cash and gold. The poster also revealed Ajay’s character- Amay Patnaik, Deputy Commisioner of Income Tax, Lucknow.

Honestly, just that little description of his character was enough to have us hooked. And fortunately, we didn’t have to wait much for the trailer because it’s here today.
The film is set in the city of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. It is set in 1981 and is based on a famous and the longest Income Tax raid that took place in UP.

Ajay as the fierce and badass Commissioner is spot on. So much so, that you’ll thank the filmmakers for having chosen him to play the character. No one would have done it better than Ajay.

Ileana is at her resplendent self and is the perfect wife to Ajay’s character. The chemistry and love equation between them is beautiful and there is no doubt about the fact that Ileana plays these 1980-90’s roles perfectly.

And how can we not talk about the villain? Saurabh Shukla is giving a powerhouse performance and the confidence exuded by his character is just what was needed to match up to Devgn’s toughness.
