He said, “We are starting to shoot Terminator 6 in June to the middle of October, so I am in that. I am looking forward to coming back as the T-800 model. Even though the whole franchise has five installments till now, not all of them have received favorable critical and commercial success. While the 2015 movie ‘Terminator Genisys’ was big blockbuster hit, critics and fans weren’t so happy with it, so basically the whole franchise was in jeopardy. The plans for a sequel to Genisys and the sixth movie overall was all set, but it was pulled from the development slate in 2016.

But, a very good news for fans came when it was revealed that Cameron would regain the rights to ‘Terminator’, and produce another movie as a soft reboot. With this upcoming movie, Cameron will come pick up the series from ‘Terminator 2: Judgement Day’, which was where he left it in 1991.

The main hope is that this new movie, along with an all-star cast will help in redeeming the whole series. And, you know what’s the plan for the upcoming untitled movie? This movie will ignore the events of Jonathan Mostow’s Rise of the Machines, McG’s Salvation and Alan Taylor’s Genisys to carry forward the legacy of T2.

Let’s see how long this franchise will stay alive.
