There is something about a friendship between boys, that’s so nonchalantly vulnerable yet malleable. I believe once you befriend someone, you truly become bros for life and the only thing that can ever come in between male bonding is maybe a female presence. But even so, male friendships are a lot easier to understand than female friendships and they go way deeper than any other relationship in this world.

Bollywood thrives on male friendships and has made some excellent movies like ‘Dil Chahata Hai’, ‘Kai Po Che’ and of course the most recent ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’. All these movies really teach us the true meaning of friendship between bros and how they’d actually go the mile extra each time when one needs the other.

While Bollywood has made a comfortable place for male friendships to come alive on screen, Hollywood movies are not far off too. Hollywood has a different way to derive friendship out of their movies and somehow they’re overwhelming to watch too, and they do teach us a lot.

So the next time you’re having one of those bros night out, with your buddy(s), maybe cue in a good movie about the mighty brethren and watch till you learn a lot more about friendships and fun adventures with your best bros, than you already know!

1. The Hangover (Part 1, 2 & 3)

‘The Hangover’ is a classic tale of having your bro’s back when he needs you the most. It really teaches one on how to bond with a bro over a night of poor decisions and be by his side and make things right, till everything is a-okay again!

It also tells us the one cardinal rule to follow before your bro takes the leap of faith and gets married- a mandatory bachelor party, even if the wedding is called off the next day! Of course, boys want to give their best mate the time of his life, before he’s sucked into the misery of marriage! Watch Alan, Phil, Stu and Doug live up to their everlasting friendship in this 3-part franchise!

2. Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle (Part 1 & 2)

Whom do you turn to when you’re off for the mission of a lifetime? Your best bro of course, and that’s exactly what Kumar does when he needs a bud to accompany him to find out what he’s really looking for in life-the White Castle burger joint!

The story is about them having all sorts of adventures as they go along the way and realising how to be there when your best bud really needs you! I suggest you watch ‘Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay’, after you’re done with this one!

Ever had your friend help you mend a broken heart? Well, that’s what true bro’s do, don’t they? And that’s what happens when Scotty falls in love with a girl in Germany and his friends Jamie, Cooper, and Jenny help him get to her. More than mending a broken heart, this movie is also about that once-in-a-lifetime super trip you need to take with your friends!

4. Grown Ups  (Part 1 & 2)

‘Grown Ups’ is a must watch for male friendships who’re doing the best they can to keep the bromance going even after marriage. The truest test of friendship between men is being the best bro, even after you’re married and this movie tells us exactly that. Lenny, Eric, Kurt, Rob, and Marcus reunite for their high school coach’s funeral, with their families and have the time of their lives!

5. Good Will Hunting

The deep friendship between real-life friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck is so awesomely reflected in this beautiful classic. Will and Chuckie are best pals in this drama and it’s the kinda movie you need to watch to really know how to support a friend and tap into his full potential, to let them know how good they are. Well, that’s what Chuckie does, when Will the genius, is wasting his life away.

‘Game Of Thrones’ might be moving towards its much-awaited finale but that doesn’t mean the show’s impending hangover won’t have a cure for us. Talks of about four prequels for the iconic TV show were floating about for a while, and now it seems like all the rumours have been put to rest with a definite confirmation.

The shortlisted storyline is based during the Age of The Heroes. As per reports, the story is “taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones. The series chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East, to the Starks of legend — it’s not the story we think we know”.  If you’re wondering about when the show will be aired, then that might come as a bummer to you, because it won’t air until at least a year after the finale next year.

So, basically, the prequel will deal with the history of Westeros, the introduction of the Long Night and how the White Walkers came into existence. Of course, we won’t see any of our favourite characters since it is set before they were born, obviously. But we’ll get to see how the reigning families started gaining power and proceeded to conquer everyone. This one is going to be a GOT history lover’s visual delight.

There have only been a handful of occasions when we got to see all our favourite stars ascend the red carpet and come together to rejoice and celebrate. The last time so many celebs came under the same roof was when Sonam Kapoor got married.

In the holy month of Ramadan, politician Baba Siddique continued with his tradition of hosting an Iftaar party and all our favourite celebrities came together to share a meal.

Baba Siddique’s Iftar bash is a very famous annual affair which is attended by the who’s who of the starry world of Bollywood.

The trailer for the next ‘Halloween’ movie is already out, and I am as terrified as I was when I saw the first movie from the Halloween franchise. 

Seriously guys, if you’re a horror/thriller movie fan and you haven’t seen anything from the Halloween franchise, are you even a fan? If in case, you’re oblivious and have managed to avoid all knowledge about the franchise, let me tell you that the movie centres around a serial murderer called Michael Myers (not to be confused with Mike Myers) who is frantically on a killing spree on Hallows eve, while wearing a really scary mask. Okay, I just got the jitters again.

The actual story begins when Michael is sent to a psychiatric facility for 15 years, when he kills his sister, Judith at the age of 10. 15 years later, Micheal escapes the facility and goes on a murder spree, terrorising a small town in America.

The OG ‘Halloween’ released way back in 1978 and was directed by John Carpenter. After the first release, a lot of sequels followed through and the original was remade again in 2007, and the sequel to the original was released in 2009. 

But the recent news around the releases tells us that the movie releasing this year, after 40 years from the original, will be the sequel to the 1978 release and it will not follow any of the previous sequels that were originally made.

The best part about this remake? It has the original Michael Myers and the original woman, he’s always haunted! Yes! Nick Castle and Jamie Lee Curtis are definitely in the film, along with new add-ons of course. The movie is directed by David Gordan Green and also stars Judy Greer and Andi Marichak.

The producer, Jason Blum, teased the ‘Halloween’ franchise fans on Twitter, before the trailer released on Friday, saying ‘The Halloween Trailer is dropping Friday’, in three separate tweets.

Well, the new ‘Halloween’ definitely respects the DNA of the franchise and keeps the finale as creepy as one would imagine it to be! I, for one can’t wait to watch this with someone for company for sure, or I might just have a heart failure and die. 

The movie though can be watched by people who haven’t seen ‘Halloween’ at all. It’s not like you have to watch the earlier movies. If you want to brush up on the ‘Halloween’ movie history you can definitely read up on Google or probably find them and watch them all!

‘Halloween’ will make its way to you on October 19th, right around Hallows eve! (jeez, what are the odds, right?). Here’s hoping 2018 is as good as they say it will be for the horror and thriller genre!
