Whatever you do, watching a holiday ‘Christmasy’ movie for that Yuletide spirit is essential. We list out 7 such movies that you can binge watch , that are basically not ‘Home Alone'( because we will watch it anyway, duh!) :

1. Bad Santa- What happens when a conman and his partner in crime decide to be Santa? He makes for a bad Santa obviously!

2. Love Actually- It’s the season of joy and if you are watching a holiday movie with your family, then this could be a nice pick. So many love stories embedded in one beautiful screen play.

3. Elf – Will Ferrel raised as an elf is a good kick start to get you in the festive mood I’d say.

4. Polar Express- We all have wanted to catch this train every time we watched it. Why should this Christmas be any different?

5. How The Grinch Stole Christmas – Jim Carrey and hot chocolate in front of the screen? Yes please.

6. Frozen- This HAS to be on the list! If you couldn’t find anything else, trust Olaf to make you smile.

7.Jingle All The Way- Arnold sets some pretty good #dadgoals in the world of parent gifting standards with this one. Nag you dad to get you something right after this.

With Christmas and New Year knocking at our doorsteps, we are sure most of you must have already made plans for parties and vacation; basically spend some leisure time with your loved ones. Well, it seems our beloved celebrities are no different. 

In fact, actor Akshay Kumar has already switched his vacation mode on and is currently chilling in Cape Town, with his family. Akshay who is busy with the promotions for his upcoming film ‘PadMan’, shared a picture of his daughter Nitara meeting her friend, 2.0, after a long time. Now before your excitement starts shooting up the sky, let’s tell you it’s not Rajinikanth, with whom Akshay Kumar will be seen in ‘2.0’, releasing next year. The 2.0 we are talking about is actually a young boy named Valentino.

For those wondering who Valentino is, he is Akshay Kumar’s house help’s son and “everyone’s favourite in the house.” In fact, last year, around the same time, Akshay introduced Valentino to all his fans while adding that this kid is blessed with an infectious spirit. Ever since he forayed into movies, fans thought his wonderful foot tapping music will take a backseat. Diljit shut up everyone with a beautiful rendition of ‘Ik Kudi’ in his debut movie itself. Then came his other projects. Few months ago while he was busy shooting for a war movie in London, everyone urged him to drop a song. When Diljit takes on a task, he puts his ‘dil’ and ‘dimaag’ both at work. The result was the love number, ‘El Sueno’.  Now, while he is impressing everyone with his current look in the hockey movie, he is back with a new song. It’s called ‘Raat Di Gedi’ and is perfectly for our own night ‘gedi’ in this cold weather.

Fans are particularly happy with the video because after a long time, we got to see Diljit with the pretty Neeru Bajwa. They made a great pair in all the movies they did together. “Baahubali” star Prabhas says Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor’s role in their upcoming film “Saaho” is extremely important and she has not been roped in only for song and dance sequences. The 38-year-old South actor, who will be working with a Bollywood star for the first time, said Shraddha is the “best choice” for the role. “I have never worked with a Bollywood actor before and she is the best choice for the role. We are very lucky to have her on board. Her character is not just like coming and going or just there for the songs.

“The character is very important and adds a lot of weight to the story. It is one of the most important characters in the film. She has some amazing action sequences also. It is a very strong character,” Prabhas told PTI. The actor said he is impressed by the amount of hard work and dedication Shraddha is putting in to ensure that she does justice to the role.

“Shraddha is a very hard-working actor and she is very comfortable (on the sets). Most of the actresses I have worked with have started their career in South and then shifted to Bollywood. Shraddha is already a Bollywood star, but she is very dedicated,” he said. Shraddha, 30, today started shooting for some of the action sequences for the film in Hyderabad. Prabhas, who is currently in Los Angeles, will be joining her around January 5 for a month-long schedule.

“The team has till now shot for almost 40-45 days. We will start shooting for the major action sequences soon. We are planning to release the film next year. But we will be able to finalise the exact date depending on the progress of the film,” he added. A UV Creations production, “Saaho” is produced by Vamsi and Pramod. Directed by Sujeeth, the project is being filmed at striking locations in India and abroad.

Superstar Salman Khan will be working on his birthday this year, as the actor has started filming the next schedule of his upcoming action-thriller “Race 3”. The 51-year-old actor today commenced the shooting for a six-day-long schedule here. “Salman will be shooting for a six-day-long schedule for the film over the Christmas week. A pivotal action sequence is being shot in Mumbai, where Salman will be performing stylised action,” the film’s spokesperson said in a statement.

The actor will be shooting at the Film City from December 24 to December 30. Apart from Salman the film also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Daisy Shah, Saqib Salem and Freddy Daruwala. The previous two installments had Saif Ali Khan as the main lead but he has now been replaced by Salman. Remo D’Souza has taken over the project from director duo Abbas-Mustan. Produced by Salman Khan Films and Tips Films, “Race 3” will hit theatres on Eid 2018.

The Madras High Court today restrained 37 websites and internet service providers from uploading pirated copy of Tamil film ‘Balloon’, set to release on December 29

The Madras High Court today restrained 37 websites and internet service providers from uploading pirated copy of Tamil film ‘Balloon’, set to release on December 29. Justice M Sundar allowed the interim prayer related to a civil suit filed by the film’s producers ’70 MM Entertainment’ and adjourned the matter. The plaintiff had sought to restrain the defendants and any other person or entity from infringing its cinematographic right of the plaintiff over the film by copying unauthorisedly and uploading the same in their websites/webpages and to block them.

The judge directed the ISPs, including BSNL, MTNL and Airtel, to block from infringing the cinematographic right of the producers over the film by copying unauthorisedly and uploading the same on their websites/webpages and block them. The film, starring Ajai, Anjali and Janani Iyer, is directed by Sineesh.

The plaintiff, represented by K Nandakumar, a partner in the firm, submitted that the defendant websites have the potential to indulge in piracy by uploading or enabling third parties to distribute through cable or online medium the film through the ISPs. The defendants had not entered into any license agreement with the plaintiff for communicating the movie and thus, it amounts to infringement of its copyright under the relevant section of the Copyright Act, 1957, he contended.

Rahman won hearts in the national capital at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex by regaling his fans with all his hit numbers at the A.R. Rahman ENCORE – The Concert in association with MTV’.

Ahead of Christmas on December 25, eh even played a Christmas medley on the piano. His concert here was a part of his four city tour in India, which had taken him to Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The three-hour-long concert also had singers like Ranjit Barot, Neeti Mohan, Jonita Gandhi, Mohit Chauhan, Javed Ali, Shaashaa Tirupati, Hriday Gattani, and Harshdeep Kaur.

Rahman regaled the jam-packed stadium with all his hits including “Naadaan Parindey” followed by a light hearted conversation with the audience paying tribute to his motherland which beautifully set the tone for his next track “Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera”. Other songs he played included “Chaiyya chaiyya”, “Mustafa mustafa”, “O humdum suniyo re”, “Tu hi re”, “Tere bina”, “Jana gana mana”, “eJo bhi main”, “Tum tak”, “Jiya je”, “Urvashi” and “Humma”. “Matargashti” and “Masakali”, which saw bobbleheads. synced into the choreography amid a display of LED concoctions.

The unplugged version of “Dil se re” and rock version of “Patakha huddi” saw Rahman in a jovial form fusing different instruments together. The crowd could be seen making the most of the time, whistling, yelling and having a blast, not letting the winter chill dampen their night. The event also supported Swacch Bharat campaign which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Gandhi Jayanthi last year. To add to the extravaganza, the production backed by state of the art technology. The stage had a video montage of Rahman’s career highlights that played out his highlightingA moments in the industry so far.

The night ended with the track “Jai Ho” which also won him an Oscar in 2009. Saugato Bhowmik, Head, Live Viacom18 and Consumer Products, Viacom18, said: “A.R. Rahman Encore was an enriching experience. Each city got to witness the magical streak of the maestro’s performance. As we closed the last leg of the tour in Delhi, it was overwhelming to see thousands of music lovers come together to witness this living legend.”

Kunal Khambhati, Head- Live Events and IP, BookMyShow said: “When A.R. Rahman takes the stage, one cannot expect anything less than pure musical delight and this is exactly what New Delhi witnessed tonight.” The promoter of the tour, Madhuvanthi Arun of Maha Enterprises said: “Today, we have created history by bringing the A.R. Rahman concert to New Delhi, and would like to thank the relentless and unwavering support and faith that has been entrusted to us.”

Actor Sharad Kelkar, who lent his voice for actor Prabhas’ character in Hindi version of the blockbuster “Baahubali: The Beginning” and the sequel “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” , says the film made him realise the importance and power of post-production. “For a large part of my career I knew the power of only three words – start, camera, action…after ‘Baahubali’ I realise the power of fourth word – start, camera, action, post production,” said Sharad at the International Animation and VfX Awards, 24FPS Awards.

“Initially, when I was shooting for movies such as ‘Baahubali’, I used to wonder how can I modulate voice and tone by looking at actors delivering dialogues in front of a green screen. It was when we saw the first cut of the film that I realised the power of VFX. It brought life to the character, the story and is a living character itself,” he added. The awards ceremony was held here on Friday where Sharad received an award for his versatile performance.

Sharad has dubbed in Hindi for a number of Hollywood films which include “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”, “Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Mad Max: Fury Road”, “Exodus: Gods and Kings”, “X-Men: Apocalypse”, “Moana” and “XXX: Return of Xander Cage”.
