Parents always want to protect their kids from anything and everything under the sun and it’s quite understandable, because they want to keep them secure. Reasonable. But what happens when this love triggers their overprotective instincts and they set out to control their kids’ lives? We guess John Cena, Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz might be in a better position to answer this, since that’s exactly what they will be doing in the upcoming comedy movie ‘Blockers’.

Since time immemorial, Hollywood has been making big bucks by stressing on the importance of prom night in teenagers’ lives and how their parents freak out, imagining their kids losing their virginity one fine day (or should we say night). So what makes this one special that the rest? The mighty John Cena as an overprotective dad, who even dares to chug beer through his (I can’t even) butt for his daughter? Of course! But this isn’t the only ‘special’ element. The movie smartly plays around the concept of using emojis for conveying sexual messages – you know just millennial things – and how poor parents are trying hard to decode those sex emojis.

The premise of the movie is slightly cliché; a trio of parents who have seen their daughters grow up together, stumble upon a group chat where the daughters are busy chatting through emojis. Turns out, the three have signed a ‘sex pact’ where they will lose their virginity on their prom night. Well, definitely the shock was bigger than walking in on kids masturbating. So the parents decided to ruin the prom night for their kids and go to extreme lengths to stop them from having sex. We wonder if the thought of teaching their kids to have safe sex ever crossed their minds, it could have been a less painful option, especially for John Cena.

While Leslie Mann and Ike Barinholtz share a great comic timing, professional wrestler John Cena managed to tickle our funny bones as well with his hilarious antics. ‘Pitch Perfect’ writer Kay Cannon wears the Director’s hat for this film which stars Kathryn Newton, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Gideon Adlan as the beautiful daughters. The coming-of-age comedy movie is expected to release on April 6, 2018.

‘Game Of Thrones‘ has pretty much glued its actors to their respective characters and it’s kinda impossible to imagine them doing anything else, but this. Right? Like if I told you Khaleesi has starred in a modern day rom-com, it’s actually tough to imagine her without that flowing gown, flying with Drogon and laying waste to Lannisters and white walkers. So yeah, that’s the power of perception. The showrunners did a pretty good job in writing such amazing characters that we can’t imagine them as anything else. So we dug up other famous projects the actors have starred in and it’s a visual surprise.

1. Diana Rigg (Lady Olena Tyrell)

‘I want her to know it was me’, she died with words that stung like a wasp. Probably one of the most brutal characters who used her words just as well as swords. She played the role of Emma Peel in the ‘Avengers’ in a previous life.

2. Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister)

He knows stuff and he drinks wine. Peter played Miles Finch in the movie ‘Elf’.

3. Lena Headey (Cersei )

The woman we all love to hate with so much passion. Lena was also seen in ‘The Purge’ opposite Ethan Hawke and also as Queen Gorgo in ‘300′.

4. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister)

Before donning the role of the famous incestuous brother, Nikolaj played Master Gary Gordon in ‘Black Hawk Dawn’ in a small but cool role.

5. Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell)

The beautiful princess who met a very cruel end courtesy her wicked mother-in-law, looked intense as Cressida in ‘Mockinjay’. Just look at that amazing hair!

6. Aiden Gillen (Petyr Baelish )

He didn’t make it to the eight season of GOT but Aiden was spotted in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

7. Kit Harrington (Jon Snow)

You know nothing Jon Snow, because in case you missed it, he was seen as Vincent Cooper in ‘Silent Hill: Revelation’.

8 . Sean Bean (Ned Stark)

You probably missed this one as well, but the brave king played Tracie Tremarco, in BBC’s ‘The Accused’. Yeah, he wore a dress.

9. Rory McCann (The Hound)

The brother of the Mountain played the role of Michael Armstrong in ‘Hot Fuzz’ and it was downright hilarious. A far cry from the badass he plays on GoT.

10. Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen)

Our beloved Khaleesi was recently seen in a romantic tale called ‘Me Before You’.

In case you were missing any of these characters, now you know where to spot them in a different ‘avatar’.

The ‘Purge’ franchise has earned a lot of flak for its bold moves but gained a lot of success, thanks to its extensive blasphemous use of political allegory in the movies. The concept was bold, it was voyeuristic and sadist in nature, and the fact that many people love it, speaks a lot about how humans function.

Out of all the movies, it’s the first one that set the tone right, hitting people in the feels. Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey did a wonderful job after all.

If like many others, the first one was your favourite too, then this spells good news for you. James DeMonaco is coming up with ‘Purge: The Island’, the next instalment in the series and the best part about this is that it will pick up right from where the first one ended. More like a prequel to what actually happened before the purge night. This movie will tell the story of the first ever purge, which could mean more violence.

You know what’s even better? Monaco is also working on a TV show which will be set during seven years after the first purge. The series tackles larger issues like social and class division in a very dark manner. For those of you who are not familiar to the whole gruesome concept of the series, ‘Purge’ is set in a hypothetical world, America namely, where an annual ‘purge’ night is held. This means that all criminal activities are legal and allowed in a 12 hour window and the government doesn’t intervenes.

Watching the new Purge which will trace the history of how it all began will be a treat for the fans. The movie is all set to release July 4th, 2018.
