The first look of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming period drama ‘Padmavati’, co-starring Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, is out!

Deepika Padukone looks majestic in her ‘goddess queen’ avatar. She can be seen sporting a unibrow. The heavy jewellery adds to her royal look.

On Wednesday, the actress had shared a logo of ‘Padmavati’ — thereby starting the promotions of the film, which was mired in controversy during its shoot over its subject.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali — known for his grand period dramas — ‘Padmavati‘ also features Ranveer Singhand Shahid Kapoor.

‘Padmavati’ tells the story of Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi ruler who fell in love with Rajput queen Padmavati.

The movie’s shoot went through a lot of hurdles.

In January, activists of outfit Shri Rajput Karni Sena had assaulted Bhansali and vandalised the movie’s Jaipur set over alleged distortions in the film’s script.

Later, once the filmmaker had moved the film’s shoot to Maharashtra, an outdoor set of the historic period drama in Kohlapur was reduced to ashes after two dozen unidentified persons torched it in March.

Ending rumours of the film’s release being pushed to next year, the makers have announced that ‘Padmavati’ will hit the screens on December 1, 2017.

Actor Shekhar Suman has apparently taken a dig at Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut for the box-office performance of her film ‘Simran’ with a sly tweet.

Kangana Ranaut has been grabbing headlines with her explosive interviews and bold statements ahead of the release of ‘Simran’ last Friday. She made shocking revelations about her relationship with alleged ex-boyfriends Hrithik Roshan and Aditya Pancholi. Kangana was trending all week long before ‘Simran’ release.

Now, Shekhar Suman has hinted in a cryptic tweet at how all the brouhaha surrounding Kangana Ranaut has gone in vain, considering ‘Simran’ has had a slow start at the box office. ‘Simran’ has earned Rs 10.65 crore in the opening weekend.

This is not the first time Shekhar Suman has taken a dig at Kangana Ranaut. In February earlier this year, he apparently taunted Kangana Ranaut after her film ‘Rangoon’ failed at the box office.

Shekhar Suman later defended himself by saying he never named anyone and lashed out at Twitterati for assuming he meant Kangana Ranaut.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra’s name was mispronounced as ‘Chopa’ at Emmys 2017 held at Microsoft Theater on Sunday in Los Angeles, California. Twitterati was up in arms after the announcer’s goof-up!

Priyanka Chopra stepped out in a figure-hugging white custom-made Balmain mermaid creation at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards. Priyanka, who presented an award at the ceremony, made heads turn with her full-sleeves ensemble, which was adorned with crystals and had a feather skirt train.

With her hair neatly tied in a ponytail, her lips done up in deep berry red and dramatic eye make-up, the ‘Quantico’ star exuded a fierce and powerful demeanour at the red carpet of the gala.

Priyanka Chopra, however, had an embarrassing moment on stage when the Emmys announcer mispronounced her name as ‘Chopa’.
