Those in the know say that Sonakshi Sinha, who featured in the first two outings in 2010 and 2012, will be part of the action flick, but Mouni will have a stellar role. If true, Mouni will be the new Dabangg girl of B-Town. Being friends with Sallu helps. Ask Daisy Shah.

Director Anees Bazmee says it would be ‘good’ if superstar Salman Khan agrees to be a part of the sequel of ‘No Entry’, but if he is not keen on doing it, they will have to scout for some other actor

salman no entry

Director Anees Bazmee says it would be “good” if superstar Salman Khan agrees to be a part of the sequel of “No Entry”, but if he is not keen on doing it, they will have to scout for some other actor. Salman was part of the 2005 film “No Entry”. Although there is a lot of buzz about the sequel of the hit comedy film, the makers are yet to make a formal announcement about the status of the project. Last year, the “Mubarakan” director had revealed that he was ready with the script of “No Entry Mein Entry” and is just waiting to get the dates of Salman.

Apparently, the makers are yet to get a nod from the star. “Salman is a fantastic actor, he is a star. If he is part of the film then it is really very good, but if he doesn’t want to do it then we will have to think of another actor with all plus and minus points and accordingly work towards it (story). Whenever Salman is part of a film it does benefit (the film),” B azmee told PTI in an interview. Even though Salman had a smaller part in “No Entry”, it turned out to be the most lovable character and the makers have extended his role in the sequel. “When we made “No Entry”, he had a very small role in it. It was actually like a guest (appearance), he had 15-20 days of work. But people loved his part. He did a great job with his character. But in the sequel, the role is bigger. “It is an important role and we have to look at the advantages and disadvantages as to who is doing the film (if Salman is not doing the film). All I know is we are making the film and I share a great equation with Salman,” Bazmee said.

The central characters of a film often tend to be part of the sequel, seen in case of “Golmaal” or “Dhoom” franchises. When asked if “No Entry Mein Entry” will still hold the same importance without Salman being part of it,Bazmee said, it all depends on the script. “It depends on what changes are made to the script (of sequel) and whether the other characters in the film are new or old. For our film, nothing has been decided. Our producer Boney Kapoor will decide what to do and then as a writer I will decide what to do.” It is being reported that for Salman’s character Prem, Arjun Kapoor might roped in. Even Akshay Kumar’s name had cropped up. On the speculation of casting, particularly for Salman’s part and his alleged replacement, Bazmee said, even he has heard about them (Arjun and Akshay), but there has been no discussion about it. It’s been four-five years apparently since the second installment titled “No Entry Mein Entry” has been in the works, with the original male cast ¿ Salman, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan, to be seen in double roles. “The work is on for the sequel. I have written the script and it has turned out to be very good. Boney ji can give you the exact details about the status of the project,” he said. The filmmaker, however, said he is not frustrated because of the delay. “I am a very positive person. I don’t get disappointed. I am a writer and I keep working on films. If I was a director, maybe I would have become frustrated, but I am happy and content as I have lot of work to do as a writer. I am never in a hurry to make a film,” he added.

The “Ready” director said he still has no idea when the much talked about film will go on floors.

After Tubelight debacle, Salman Khan acknowledges that his mere presence doesn’t guarantee film’s success

There was a time when people would say, ‘Salman sirf khada ho jayega screen pe toh movie chal jayegi,'” Salman Khan tells mid-day during this interview. Like most stories that kick-off on that note, we understand where this one’s heading. Close on the heels of the debacle of his last outing, Tubelight, Khan acknowledges that the presence of a superstar in a film, doesn’t guarantee success anymore.

Salman

“It has been proven that no one can take stardom for granted. The casting of a star doesn’t mean the film will run. [The failure of] my last release proved that. So, there is a pressure [to perform] at all times.” Several months after Tubelight hit screens, the actor seems to have deciphered the reason behind its debacle. Having established himself as an action hero, his fans, Khan says, hate to see him teary-eyed.

“Whenever my fans watch my movie, they want to have a great time. With Tubelight, they were shocked. They were crying, hurt and disturbed, as they couldn’t digest the fact that someone was beating their Bhai, and that I was crying. So, even though they watched it in theatres, they didn’t go back again. The film lacked the repeat value that Sultan (2016) or Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) had.” That the Eid release also hit screens during the festive period was another dampner. “It’s a beautiful project, but it should not have released on a festival. I had warned people to not expect dhamaal and masti.”

He has his hopes pinned on his upcoming release, Tiger Zinda Hai. He promises that the film has enough “soul” to appeal to masses. “We already established the characters in our last film, so, taking them to the next level was not a problem. But, finding the right plot was. The film needs to have a soul, and that’s what this one has.”

Directing the much-awaited “Tiger Zinda Hai”, starring Salman Khan, was a mammoth task for director Ali Abbas Zafar as he was under pressure to live up to the expectations of the superstar and his fans

Directing the much-awaited “Tiger Zinda Hai”, starring Salman Khan, was a mammoth task for director Ali Abbas Zafar as he was under pressure to live up to the expectations of the superstar and his fans.

“Tiger Zinda Hai” is the second installment of the 2012 blockbuster action-drama film “Ek Tha Tiger” that was directed by Kabir Khan. The sequel will reunite Salman and Katrina Kaif as secret service agents while Salman and Ali are also working together after the massive success of “Sultan”. Asked if there was a pressure on him, Ali told PTI, “Yes, definitely. He is such a big superstar with a huge fan base. As a filmmaker it’s your responsibility that you entertain the audience who are coming to watch the film.

“The pressure isn’t only about Salman Khan’s stardom. Everyone who spends money to watch the film, is equally important.” With two films in a row with Salman, one would assume that there is a formula that the director has cracked but Ali insists that is not the case.

The director said it was important for him to stay true to the story while also charting out the character in a way that it lives up to the image of Salman. “As a writer you have to be honest to the character you are writing. Both Sultan and Tiger’s characters are author-backed. The idea is, whenever you are working with a superstar like Salman Khan, you create a character which matches his stardom in real life.

“When the audience come and watch the film, they understand that the name is only Tiger or Sultan but it is Salman Khan there! But it has to be done in a real way.” The “realism”, Ali said, comes only when one sticks to the story and not give in to the temptation of making things larger-than-life for the sake of it.

“The action in ‘Sultan’ wasn’t defying gravity or physics. Similarly, the idea here is to keep him (Salman) real but at the same time you give him a gun, which once he fires, becomes a ‘wow’ moment. A lot of his fans will feel this is a ‘Salman Khan moment’.

“But it’s actually the character who is picking up the gun and firing. The gun has a justification to be in that world because it’s a war film.”

“Tiger Zinda Hai” chronicles the story of two agents on a mission to rescue 25 Indian nurses taken hostage in Iraq. Ali has woven real life incidents – the abduction of nurses – into a fictional setting as he believes the subject immediately becomes more accessible.

“What excites me most is what is happening around me, if I can weave a bit of fiction into it to bring it in front of the audience. Even ‘Sultan’ was inspired by a lot of real life wrestler stories but was a completely fictional film. If we create something out of reality, it becomes more accessible.”

While there is a lot of buzz surrounding the film in India, there were reports that Pakistan may not release “Tiger Zinda Hai” as they had some objections. Asked about it, Ali said, “Right now, we are not very clear on what has happened. It is still in contention. YRF (Yash Raj Films) is still trying to get through the matter. We will get to know by the next week. There are still things which are going back and forth.”

Ali said he is experiencing “a weird feeling of being excited and nervous” as the film is set to be released this Friday.

A source close to Bachchan family told Deccan Chronicle, “Aishwarya felt Abhishek Bachchan‘s career needed a small push to catapult him to the top bracket once again. Of late, he hasn’t signed new films and is choosing to focus on the best possible projects. Following his revamped priorities, his first new project will be Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s biopic on poet-lyricist, Sahir Ludhianvi. Reshma has been brought in to oversee Abhishek’s forthcoming career moves and to position him as a prominent entertainment brand.”

Rumour mills were abuzz that Khiladi Akshay Kumar has also signed Reshma Shetty to manage his work. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Akshay or his team.

Abhishek recently walked out of his debut film Refugee’s director, JP Dutta’s upcoming film ‘Paltan’. The director had to rope in one-film-old Harshvardhan Rane for the role.

Filmmaker Kabir Khan says he is happy to see Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and actress Katrina Kaif back together on the big screen in the upcoming film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’

kabir khan

Kabir Khan, who helmed the 2012 blockbuster ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, says he is excited to see Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif on celluloid with the film’s upcoming sequel ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’.

The director said it is a great franchise and he is confident the second installment will do well commercially. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie is set to release on December 22. “It (‘Tiger Zinda Hai’) is superb, it is looking absolutely fantastic. It is a great franchise, it will do really well. The excitement is already there. “It is great to see Salman and Katrina back together, that chemistry that was so evident five years ago, it is as palpable even today. And Ali has only taken it to a bigger level. It is looking lovely,” Kabir told PTI.

Kabir, however, maintained that comparisons between the two films should be avoided. “Every director brings his own vision. There should be no comparisons between the two films. This is a separate film. They have their own dynamics.”It was Kabir who created the characters of the Indian spy Tiger (Salman) and Pakistani spy, Zoya, played by Katrina Kaif. The filmmaker said he is not keen on taking the franchise ahead as he does not believe in the idea of sequels. “I am not sure about(doing) ‘Tiger’ franchise, it has already moved forward. I don’t do sequels. I might do somebody else’s sequels. Out of all the characters that I have created Tiger is one such (part) which should be taken forward and I am glad it is being taken ahead.

“I myself, don’t know if I will ever do sequels, but never say never. I was asked about taking ahead ‘New York’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. Till now sequels don’t really excite me. In a certain sense, I have a closure with characters with the story, so I don’t get excited of taking them ahead.” Kabir was talking on the sidelines of the launch of actor-politician Bina Kak’s photo book, “Silent Sentinels of Ranthambhore” last evening. The book was released by Salman and Katrina.

Salman Khan lashed out at Sushant Singh Rajput for allegedly misbehaving with his protege and friend Aditya Pancholi’s son, Sooraj Pancholi, who is one film old in the industry

This was the 90s Salman Khan who had anger management issues but the star now has mended fences with his increasing temper. However, that doesn’t mean he will let you take him for a ride, if you poke him. He sportingly takes the comments passed on him and gives it back in his own sly style. The superstar, who has been a godfather to many of the actors in the industry, not only takes them under his wings but is also protective of them. So, nobody dares to take a dig at his family, friends or protégés.

AFilmfarereport states that at a recent party, the ‘MS Dhoni’ actor, Sushant Singh Rajputallegedly misbehaved with ‘Hero’ actor Sooraj Pancholi. The insiders also revealed that Sooraj was taken aback by Sushant’s indecorous behaviour for no solid reason to trigger such conduct.

The issue blew up when Salman learned about it and this left him agitated. The report further states that the superstar immediately dialled Sushant’s number and gave him a piece of his mind. The ‘Dabangg’ star also warned him to maintain distance from Sooraj. Anxious by Salman’s rebuke, he was quick enough to apologise him, with the assurance that he wouldn’t commit the same mistake again.

Well, one has to pay a huge price to be in Bhai’s bad books or mess with him!
