The film, directed by Reema Kagti, and co-produced by Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertaiment and Aamir Khan Productions, earned Rs 85.38 crore at the domestic box office within 13 days of its release, Nov 30.

The film has grossed Rs 46.40 crore overseas. ‘Talaash’ also features Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor.
It was made on a budget of Rs 40 crore, and released across 2,500 screens. Its satellite rights were sold for Rs 40 crore.

In a written reply to Congress member Mohammed Akbar in the state assembly, Public Works Department Minister Brijmohan Agrawal, who holds the tourism and culture portfolios as well, said that 245 artistes performed during the weeklong (Nov 1-7) state foundation anniversary – Rajayotasava 2012- celebrations held in various districts and the government paid over Rs.5 crore to them.
The total expenditure as honorarium to 245 artistes, that included 42 artistes from outside the state, during Rajayotasava 2012 was Rs.5,21,22,500, the minister said.

He also listed details of per person honorarium paid out by the government, with Kareena Kapoor topping the list at Rs.1,40,71,000.
Kareena performed at main Rajayotasava venue at Naya Raipur Nov 1 and her show was hardly for eight minutes.
The government also paid heavy amount to other artistes such as Sonu Nigam (Rs.36,50,000), Sunidhi Chauhan (Rs.32,00,000), Dia Mirza (Rs.25,00,000), Himesh Reshamia (Rs.24,00,000) and Pankaj Udhas (Rs.90,000).
The minister also informed the house that his department spent Rs.54,62,461 on inviting the artistes and their travel expenditure while the bill for artistes’ lodging and food was put at Rs.11,67,956.

Hindi movie Talaash starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee in leads, has done good business at Indian Box Office in the second week. Despite facing tough competition from new release Khiladi 786, the psychological suspense thriller has added a good numbers to its 14-day total collection.
Trade experts had predicted that Khiladi 786, which released in 2,785 screens in the country on December 7, would send down the collection of Talaash. As expected, it did affect its business in single screens across the country. But Talaash managed to do very good collection in multiplexes, which the former had a bad time.
Talaash, which had collected Rs 68.07 crores at the desi Box Office in the first week, witnessed 70% drop in its collection in the second week. The movie collected Rs 11.34 crore nett at the Box Office in the second weekend. On the weekdays, it raked in Rs 5.41 crores taking its 14 day total to Rs 84.82 crores nett. Its second week breakup is Rs 2.40 cr on Fri, Rs 4.14 cr on Sat, Rs 4.80 cr on Sun, Rs 1.51 cr on Mon, Rs 1.41 cr on Tue, Rs 1.26 cr on Wed and Rs 1.23 cr on Thu.
However, the Aamir-Kareena-Rani starrer has failed to surpass Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic Box Office in the second week. Trade experts say that Talaash would cross this mark in the third weekend as there are no new releases this Friday.

According to a poll conducted by Oneindia, Katrina Kaif is being termed as the best actress of 2012. Maximum people liked Katrina Kaif’s performance in Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Ek Tha Tiger.
While Katrina Kaif got 28% votes, Priyanka Chopra emerged second with 22% votes for her performance in Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath. Kareena Kapoor received 16% votes for Talaash and Heroine. However, what’s surprising is that Vidya Balan, who was brilliant in her film Kahaani got only 13% votes, making her fourth in the list. Veteran actress Sridevi got 9% votes, while Deepika Padukone got 6% votes.
