What makes a period film or any historic fiction drama a huge success? Storyline, yes! Brilliant acting, maybe! But apart from these it is the costumes, the opulence and grandeur of the sets that make the dramas more mesmerizing. It is this sheer brilliance that kick-starts our imagination and transports us back to that era. ‘Game of Thrones’ is one such show that has captivated our hearts since the day it first premiered.

From the battle between Starks and Lannisters, Daenerys’ revenge and her dragon’s wrath to Cersei’s passive and aggressive scheming mind and Jon Snow’s resurrection; every single moment has been an eventful and enthralling one. Talking about Jon Snow, have you ever wondered what it feels like to “know nothing”? Well, we kind of do, thanks to the numerous developments in the show that have left us as clueless as we were while watching the first episode of the first season.

Recently, an interesting fact surfaced that has left us shell-shocked. Did you know that our beloved show ‘Game of Thrones’ had an Indian and in particular connection with Delhi? We are not talking about any Indian-origin cast or crew member; we are actually talking about the lavish costumes and sets of the show. Surprisingly, their clothes, tents and fabrics and manufactured in Lajpat Nagar. Surprised? Well, you can take a minute to let this settle in your mind.

‘Game Of Thrones' Has An Indian Connection That No One Knew About© Rangrasons

There is a company called Rangrasons, who have been supplying military ceremonial uniforms, fabrics, embroidery, furniture, architectural pieces, and accessories to the show. Found in 1945, this company has supplied fabric and costumes to various popular shows and movies and their contribution can date back to 1982, when they made costumes for ‘Gandhi’. Their other projects include ‘Captain America’, ‘Gladiator’, ‘Kingdom of Heaven’, ‘Wrath of the Titans’, and ‘Price of Persia’ among others.

Wow, the world sure is small and we can probably now boast about playing a crucial role in the success of ‘Game of Thrones.’ Further, can you imagine that every woman’s favourite shopping destination, is actually a preferred choice of ‘Game of Thrones’ makers too!

Meanwhile this is how we are feeling right now.

Disclaimer: There are some Earth shaking spoilers ahead and it’s too bad if you haven’t seen the latest episode yet.

Ever since season 7 of ‘Game of Thrones’ premiered, the show has been throwing some fiery curveballs at us right from the first episode. From Ed Sheeran’s cameo, Arya Stark and Nymeria’s epic reunion to the ‘Loot Train Attack’ spearheaded by Daenerys and her dragon, every episode leaves us GOT fans craving for more. While we all were recuperating from the fire and blood spewed in the last episode, where Daenerys’ dragon and the Dothraki erased Jamie Lannister’s forces; the makers threw us in another pool of interesting plot twists and this time it was a f**king huge deal.

In the last episode we saw Jamie sinking in the waters after Bronn pushed him away to protect him from the wrath of the dragon. It wasn’t just Jamie but our hopes too that were sinking as confusion took over our minds compelling us to think about what will happen to his character now. But, the air was cleared when we saw Bronn swimming while carrying Jamie’s weight. The latest episode ‘Eastwatch’ is definitely one of the most intriguing episodes so far and one of the reasons is Gendry. We can’t hold ourselves anymore – Gendry is back and his entry will definitely create a lot of stir in this game of thrones.

Another interesting moment was when Gilly almost revealed one of the most crucial fan theories so far, but was interrupted by Sam Tarly. The theory is about how Rhaegar Targaryen might have secretly married “someone”, after annulling his marriage. Wait! Does that make Jon a legit Targaryen then? Woah, now that’s a big revelation and we are sure most of you would already know who this ‘someone’ might be. Also just in case you missed out on the movie ‘Suicide Squad’, don’t worry Game of Thrones just got one with Jon, Gendry, Jorah, Tormund and Hound.

Well, clearly this moment has left Twitter rolling its eyes in utter shock and their reactions collectively echo our feelings right now.

We have all loved the street smart Bronn till now. The man can fight like a badass but he’s got no morals or loyalty to hold him back. The only thing he is loyal to is wealth, and understandably so. In a world where loyalty gets you beheaded and what not, perhaps the lack of it is not so bad.

‘Game of Thrones' Actor Who Plays Bronn Says His Postman Stopped Talking To Him After He Shot Drogon

But the 4th episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ changed all that. The minute Bronn ran towards Qyburn’s massive  scorpion-bow and aimed at Drogon, he lost all fans; even the diehard ones. Why would you do that, Bronn?! Guess that’s the downside of fighting for money.

Take a look at the explosive scene again:

Jerome Flynn, the actor who plays Bronn, is well aware of the lost fandom. In an interview for ‘Making Game of Thrones’, he confessed how his postman has stopped talking to him because he attempted to kill the dragon!

“I was surprised when I was watching it. I spent weeks on that sequence, but I was on the edge of my seat, the adrenaline was running — they really nailed it. Although since the day the battle aired, I’ve been a little unpopular, I have to say. My postman won’t speak to me because I shot the dragon.”

‘Game of Thrones' Actor Who Plays Bronn Says His Postman Stopped Talking To Him After He Shot Drogon© HBO

No doubt that scene was impressive as hell. Flynn himself was overwhelmed when he watched the scene again in its entirety even though he was the one in it! He further said in the interview, “It took four or five weeks to film that sequence, but the actual “death run” to Qyburn’s scorpion happened over a couple of days. And that one particular sequence was some of the most most exciting filming I’ve had.”

The visual effects in ‘Spoils of War’ were one of the best in the show so far, and we still can’t get over that image of Dany riding her dragon like a badass.

Watch how the GOT team managed to pull off this epic ‘Loot Train attack’ scene:

H/t – Making of Game Of Thrones

The 4th episode of Game of Thrones season 7 was the most satisfying episode ever! While Arya’s reunion with Sansa left us with too many emotions, her comeback as a merciless assassin had us pumping our fists in the air. ‘Spoils of War’ finally gave us some explosive dragon action and we loved every bit of it. Watching Daenerys unleash brutality at the Lannister army with her fire-breathing dragon was the most orgasmic moments of the season. Let’s decode the images from Episode 5 and hope it is as exciting as this one.

Looks like Daenerys has begun to look up to Jon Snow more than her advisor Tyrion. Overruling Tyrion’s word of caution, she goes up to Jon to ask for his advice in the 4th episode. Though she still does what she wants to, it’s clear the Khaleesi is developing a soft corner for the king in the North. We hope sparks fly in the next episode.

We think Dany is stressing a little too much on ‘Bend the knee’! Considering Jaime and Bronn are nowhere to be seen, we can assume Jaime will have a little of his adventure getting out of that lake.

Finally, Littlefinger might get going with some sneaky plan of his and finally, he will be digging in his own grave.

We expect nothing less than a plot-twisting discovery from Sam and Gilly.

Err..one question: now that he is not in the North anymore, why does Jon Snow still wear that thick furcoat?

Looks like Dany might have additions to the court, now that she has successfully defeated a part of the Lannister army.

There’s a bigger better war coming, and everyone needs a little more than just dragons to win it.

We feel for Tyrion. One of the sharpest characters on GOT, he is advising a queen against his own family and the queen is beginning to undermine his judgment.

Hard news for Cersei. Jaime is still missing and Cersei will have to come up with a better plan to save herself.

Despite all the leaks by hackers, we are still looking forward to when the show officially airs; after all, loyalty is a thing and in ‘Game of Thrones, the price for it is too high. In case you don’t have a Hotstar membership, GOT Season 7 airs in India on Star World and Star World HD every Tuesday at 11 pm. And in case you do, we’ll race you to the spoilers!

Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead from episode 4, ‘The Spoils of War’.

While the whole world was in shock after the hackers leaked the fourth episode of ‘Game Of Thrones’, thanks to the makers, we are not regretting watching the leaked episode ahead of everyone else. ‘The Spoils of War’ was the mother of all episodes, with the ‘loot train attack’ being the one of the most fierce and explosive battles of all time. The amount of water I spit out of my mouth in excitement and shock was more than the stream of flame that Drogon spewed out to erase Jamie Lannister’s forces. Although I am kind of disappointed with the name of the battle, the fight itself was more of a massacre than anything else.

This Is How The GOT Makers Shot The Most Devastating Scene In The Show© HBO

With the mother of dragons raining down fire from the sky and the Dothraki slaying people on ground, this episode was f**king awesome and one can only imagine how tough it would have been to shoot the whole scene. The episode has left us perplexed and confused as to who to root for after this whole sequence. While we enjoyed the deadly battle between Jamie Lannister’s army and Daenerys’ dragon along with the Dothraki, here’s a behind-the-scenes featurette video that you must watch. This video talks about the amount of effort that went into making this battle one of the deadliest affairs in the television history. Trust me, the video will make you fall in love with ‘Game Of Thrones’ all over again.

Apparently, this episode happens to be most amount of time when Emilia Clarke was seen riding the dragon. Joe Bauer, VFX supervisor said that in Season 6, there were 11 shots of Daenerys riding the dragon, but in this loot train attack alone there were more than 80. To give a little brief *cough spoiler cough* of this episode, Jamie Lannister and his army were heading home after their victory at Highgarden, when they were attacked by Daenerys and the Dothraki in Westeros, and not just the 27 loot carriages but the soldiers were burned alive as well.

This Is How The GOT Makers Shot The Most Devastating Scene In The Show© HBO

We do feel bad for Tyrion Lannister who was left with no option but to watch his brother and his army lose in front of his eyes. He can’t go against Danerys after all. Having said that, our dragon mother on the other hand has finally let loose her dragons in Westeros, and their fury has been unleashed and the bar has now been set really high. Let’s just hope that the next episode manages to keep the pace and the build up at a pinnacle.

‘Game of Thrones’ is known for its magnum opus grandeur. It’s a well-known fact that this is HBO’s one of the most expensive productions and one can obviously see the results on-screen.

From jaw-dropping VFXs to bloody war scenes, the makers have left no stone unturned in making this historic drama. Recent reports stated that a single episode of the show has a budget of more than $10 million.

In fact, they have a huge team that works for various departments. Around 80-100 people work together to get those exquisite costumes right. Yes, that’s how huge their costume department is.

Game of Thrones (c) HBO

So when we read about this fact, it totally surprised us. Apparently, some of the products and material that is used in the show is sourced from cheap market places.

Would you believe if we tell you one of the most expensive shows ever made actually uses IKEA rugs as capes? Well, believe it or not, the costume designer Michele Clapton herself revealed so, “These capes are actually IKEA rugs,” she said to the audience at the Getty museum in Los Angeles last year while discussing the costumes for the Night’s Watch, a military order who works to guard the Wall. Their work is to defend the realms of men from what lies beyond the Wall.

That’s pretty surprising indeed. If she wouldn’t have said so, we would have never guessed that this could be the case.

Once these rugs were brought, they were cut as per their designs, dyed and shaved. It went through some process before it was given to the characters to wear it. Rug or not, it definitely looked like a fine piece of medieval clothes.

Game of Thrones (c) HBO

“I want the audience to almost smell the costumes. Here they were waxed and frosted so they belonged to the landscape,” Clapton said. (Check out her comment around the 27:35 mark in the video).

“The budget is the same every year regardless of what we’re filming—it’s okay, but it’s never enough. Sometimes if you’re restricted it makes you more clever about what you’re doing. You can look at things, you can reuse things. Or you can go to IKEA” Clapton said in the talk.

Now we just wonder how many other costumes were made so wisely. Are there other such items being used as well? We would definitely like to know!

Things didn’t really end well in the 3rd episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ and Cersei has drawn first blood in the war. Daenerys and Jon’s meeting was comical, to say the least, and we do hope they find a mutual path soon. The 4th episode is just round the corner and HBO has released brand new images of the episode and looks like the winds are changing direction. Let’s have a look at the pictures and go crazy with the theories already!

Tough Reunion For Theon

Theon arrives at Dragonstone on the Greyjoy ship that rescued him and it looks like a few heavy steps towards a reunion with Jon Snow.

Theon has quite a lot of bad blood with the Stark clan – he cruelly took over Winterfell to please his indifferent father, murdered the maester who taught the Stark children, carried a fake murder of Bran and Rickon Stark by burning two farm boys. Sansa might have forgiven him after he risked his life to save her, but Jon might not.

Going by their grim faces, there’s more bad news perhaps. If it’s Theon on the other end, he will have to face a lot of wrath. Tortured by Ramsay Bolton, Theon is still haunted by the memories and suffers from PTSD but abandoning your ship when your sister has a sword to her throat will not warrant a hero’s welcome for him, of course.

Do we see a love story blossoming there?

The New Pictures Of Episode 4 Of ‘Game Of Thrones' S7 Are Out© HBO

Good to know Jon is lingering around long enough for Daenerys to develop a liking to him. King of North too seems to be taken by Dany too. Though we cringed at Khaleesi’s cocky tirade when they first meet, we would very much like to see them together, thank you. Incest, you say. *cough* Lannisters *cough*

Missandei’s sly smile and Dany’s mock anger could very involve some good-humoured teasing here, we reckon. Turns out Jon Snow does know something.

Sansa Set For A Third Wedding?!

The New Pictures Of Episode 4 Of ‘Game Of Thrones' S7 Are Out© HBO

As current Warden of the North, Sansa has a lot of hard decisions to make as Jon extends his stay in Dragonstone to mine Dragonglass. With winter knocking at Winterfell’s doors, Sansa has already leapt in action. If Jon doesn’t return on time, she has to take charge of defending their kingdom. Seen here in Godswood, the area of worship and meditation, Sansa looks like she is about to make a big decision and needs strength from the gods – do we hear wedding bells? Maybe. Marrying Littlefinger would give her control over the Vale; of course, he could be killed later.

As loyal GoT fans, we don’t trust this character one bit. Seen here in all his sly glory, Littlefinger looks like he has another scheme up his sleeve.

The New Pictures Of Episode 4 Of ‘Game Of Thrones' S7 Are Out© HBO

We haven’t seen Podrick and Brienne in a while now and it’ll be good to see Podrick as a skilled fighter trained by Brienne. We know Sansa is in good hands as long as Brienne of Tarth is serving her.

We are not liking the confidence on Cersei.

The New Pictures Of Episode 4 Of ‘Game Of Thrones' S7 Are Out© HBO

The fear on Jamie and Bronn’s faces makes up for it. The war might come sooner than we expected. While returning from Highgarden, the Lannister army led by Jamie could be faced with Daenerys’ Dothraki army. And even King Robert Baratheon knew “Only a fool would meet the Dothraki in an open field.”

We can only form theories and imagine every possible plot and scheme in our minds till nothing surprises us anymore, as Littlefinger advises Sansa. Tell us what you think of these pictures from Episode 4; let us hear some crazy theories! Game of Thrones Season 7 airs in India on Star World and Star World HD every Tuesday at 11 in the night.

Seems like we can’t get enough of stories about murders and crimes, and by the looks of it, this next one might be the best one till date. ‘Gone Girl’ and ‘Fight Club’ director David Fincher is coming out with a new show on Netflix called ‘Mindhunter’ and it’s all about what’s underneath when it comes to the world’s most dangerous killers.

The trailer for this much-awaited show, which is based on the book ‘Mind Hunter: Inside FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit’ written by Mark Olshaker and John E. Douglas, just came out, and it’s like we’re in proper Fincher territory.

This New Netflix Series Will Explore The Minds Of Serial Killers© Netflix

The show references real-life cases like Charles Manson and the Son of Sam to tell a fictional tale. The two leads, played by Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, play the role of two FBI agents who go from police station to police station to teach local law enforcement their techniques.

In a wider sense, though, the show will explore the psyche of murderers during a time when the term “serial killer” was just being invented. “How do we get ahead of crazy if we don’t know how crazy thinks?” is one of McCallany’s character’s dialogues from the trailer, and it perfectly sums up the premise of the show.

This New Netflix Series Will Explore The Minds Of Serial Killers© Netflix

Even though the two agents receive a lot of backlash for ‘humanizing’ these ruthless criminals, they are still set on their philosophy that the only way to outsmart a criminal is to understand them.

This New Netflix Series Will Explore The Minds Of Serial Killers© Netflix

David Fincher and Charlize Theron are the executive producers behind the show, and both of them first pitched the project to HBO in 2009, but since that obviously didn’t work out, Netflix made the wise decision of taking it up. Mark your calendars, the series is dropping on Netflix on October 13.

Melisandre has always been somewhat of a mystery and we loved the touch of magic in the show, save for the fact that her miscalculated prediction causes the death of a little girl. After all, dragons can’t do much beyond breathing fire, can they? In her brief appearance in episode 3, Melisandre drops a very important hint about Varys that we have most probably missed.

The Huge Plot Twist Behind Melisandre's Words To Varys© HBO

After bringing fire and ice together, Melisandre decides to leave Dragonstone; of course, we know why she is avoiding Jon Snow and Ser Davos – the blood of a little girl on her hands doesn’t look too good. She tells a suspicious Varys that she is going to Volantis. Varys slyly tells her not to return to Dragonstone as it might not be safe for her anymore.

Melisandre’s response “I will return […] one last time. I have to die in this strange country, just like you”  left both Varys and the viewers stumped. What did she mean?! Is she predicting Varys’ death? Does she know something we don’t?

The Huge Plot Twist Behind Melisandre's Words To Varys© HBO

First things first, if you thought Varys was being hostile towards the Red Witch for no reason, you are right. The reason can be traced back to the tragic incident that changed his life forever. Varys was bought by a sorcerer who castrated him as part of a magic ritual and later left him to die on the streets. He confesses to Tyrion that he hates magic and sorcerers and explains his dislike of the Red Witch.

The Huge Plot Twist Behind Melisandre's Words To Varys© HBO

If you recall, Varys hears a voice from the flames, a fact he is uncomfortable with. The fact that Varys has a connection with the supernatural world has been established in the show. Fan theories suggest that he is not lowborn, but of royal blood – something the Red Witch also hints at when she says, “None of us are common folk anymore.” It is believed that the voice speaks to him during the blood ritual, because he is of royal blood.

The Huge Plot Twist Behind Melisandre's Words To Varys© HBO

Melisandre’s prediction of his death hints at two major possibilities – Varys could betray Daenerys, the result of which would be him being burned alive, or he could be capable of magic himself, just like the Red Witch, even though he hates it.

Throwback to season 6 when Kinvara, a priestess in R’hllor, stumps Varys by asking him “Should I tell you what the voice said? Should I tell you the name of the one who spoke?”  Was the voice predicting his death? Does he know he will die in fire?

Varys, if he indeed betrays Daenerys, could then change the course of war since he is an insider in her camp and would be privy to the most confidential of plans. Whatever it is, one thing is for sure – Varys will not have a linear role in the coming episodes.

Today’s ‘Game of Thrones’ episode brought some major twists and turns. From major meet-ups to some diplomacy plans, it goes without saying that the 4th episode of GOT seventh season is already getting people excited.

A week is left for the next episode and things are going to get a lot more intense and interesting. We don’t know much of what to expect from it, as the 30 seconds trailer hardly gives out a lot of what’s in store for us.

The makers every now and then are giving us a small piece of the cake and man, that’s enough to raise our expectations and build our curiosity.

The trailer of GOT season 7 episode 4 ‘The Spoils of War’ shows Daenerys telling Jon Snow, “All my allies are gone, I’m losing.”

Well, well, that’s indeed a tough situation, let’s count all the people she lost: Tyrell: defeated, Euron: defeated……. Dothraki and the Unsullied: trapped at the Casterly Rocks and House of Martell: they might end soon too!

Cersei is shown doing what she is best at: plotting to take charge of what is her. “My only venture at this moment is reestablishing control over this continent and every person on it,” Cersei tells the Iron Bank’s Tycho Nestoris looking at the Westeros map.

You also see Arya looking at Winterfell from far, Sansa looking determined, Brienne of Tarth fighting, Theon Greyjoy returning back to the shore and Podrick thrown on the ground and finally, we see a dragon.

As per the fan theories go around, people have spotted a blonde glint behind the dragon. Yes, we are also thinking exactly what you are.

Though one can’t be sure…but it definitely looks like Daenerys riding the giant all set to win the much-awaited war. Well, Lannisters get ready to get roasted!
