1. Go Goa Gone

So you think you know what happens when three friends decide to visit an isolated island for a rave party in Goa? No, you don’t. What if the next morning you find yourself not only stranded but also surrounded and hunted by flesh-eating zombies. Yeah, I know that was a quick synopsis, unless you have already watched the movie. Don’t read that again. Instead, watch the movie. And before you do that, that listen to this awesome track – BABAJI KI BOOTY.

And you know what? Saif is there to rock the party as well. He is the real deal. Watch it, is I am saying.

2. Delhi Belly

It is a black comedy by Aamir Khan Production and if you have already seen the film you know what I am going to talk about. Bhaag D.K. Bose, Switty Tera Pyaar Chaida, and Jaa Chudail are some of the tracks that might have made their way to your eardrums at some point.

Long story short, it is the story of three strugglers who are also roommates. They unknowingly become the target of a powerful gangster when they misplace his expensive diamonds. Watch the film to see what happens to thse fools! You won’t regret it, so make sure your headphones are plugged in or your family is at least 100 meters away from you.

3. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Hrithik, Farhan, and Abhay? What else can you ask for in a single movie? A better storyline, maybe if you are a victim of the age old, love story scam in Bollywood. Yes, the movie’s storyline is good enough to keep you on your couch for 2 and ahalf hours, without a doubt.

A bachelor’s road trip that becomes an opportunity to mend fences, heal wounds, fall in love with life and combat their worst fears. Did we forget to mention Katrina Kaif? Yeah, she is in here too, looking fine AF.

4. Dil Chahta Hai

Again it is Farhan, but this time he’s directing the movie. You can say that this film is one of his masterpieces.

It is a story about three friends who share a deep bond but are separated due to their different approaches towards relationships. Sounds boring? Maybe you could blame my style then, but the movie is brilliant, that we can guarantee. And guys, we’re heading back to Goa for this film.

5. 3 Idiots

You do not share the same world as we do if you haven’t seen this movie. One fact: It is the highest grossing movie in Bollywood and we swear that it is not just some other Bollywood nonsense. It is genuinely good.

If we talk about the storyline, it is not something you’ve never seen before. Although, it may sound quite the opposite when you hear words like college days, passion, drama, essentially the same stuff. But wait, there is so much more than that. You just gotta watch this one if you decide to watch only one today.

6. Pyaar Ka Punchnama

If you are one of those guys who feel like their girlfriend is dominating them, then this is your watch for the day. You won’t need a smoke to chill out after you are done watching this movie. You will see all your frustration melt away when you first hear the 15-minute monologue delivered by one of the victims in the movie.

Just watch it. Trust us!

7. Kai Po Che

Whatever one may say about the writing skills Chetan Bhagat possesses, movies adapted from his books are all Bollywood hits. Writing skills? Really? Don’t ask me. I am not asking you to read his novels. I am just suggesting you go and watch ‘Kai Po Che’, a work based on his novel. It is a good movie.

Its storyline is a combination of different subjects like people realizing their goals in a turbulent city, religious disparities, politics, riots, and earthquakes.

8. Hera Pheri

This film is a true classic. Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal are at their best here. Not much to say about the storyline but if you are smart enough there is a catch in the name and that’s all the story is about. Do not miss this one.

“Anjali aur Rahul ka fir se jhagda ho gaya,” this dialogue from ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ is enough to remind us of the beautiful friendship the duo shared in the film.

Ever since we remember watching Bollywood movies, friendship has always remained a vital theme. There are tons of movies which are dedicated to friendship. There are movies that have explored some complexities in friendship while some have presented the real life experience on-screen that each one of us can relate to.

Indian films have given us friendship goals over the years. Be it Jai-Veeru in ‘Sholay’ or our favourite trio in ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, B-town movies are all about special friendship and here are 12 movies that literally redefine what friendship is supposed to be like. Don’t be surprised if by the end of this list, you end up calling your BFF over and watching one of these movies:

Dil Chahta Hai (2001)

How can a list of best Bollywood films based on friendship ever start without ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ on top? Look around and we bet your group definitely has one Akash, Sameer or Sidharth. Because these were not just characters but real people like us. This movie was the reason why we decided to reconnect with all our bygone friends.

Anand (1971)

While the above-mentioned movie is B-town’s favourite, this film is my personal favourite. ‘Anand’ isn’t just a story about random friendship but it is much beyond that. The titular role is played by Bollywood’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna who plays the role of a terminally-ill patient. Anand teaches his teacher who eventually become his friend, the true meaning of life and how one should live it to the fullest. Here’s one lesson for all of us as Anand would have said, “Babu Moshai Zindagi badi honi chahiye lambi nahi.. Maut ke darr se agar Zinda rehna chodhu, to maut kisse kehte hain? Babu Moshai jab tak zinda hoon, tab tak mara nahi hoon. Jab marr gaya, saala mein hi nahi. Toh phir darr kiss baat ka.”

This is one of those stories that will stay with you forever and ever. Don’t know about anyone else, but I am cent percent going to watch this movie tonight.

Dosti (1964)

This is one of the oldest Bollywood films that I can recall on friendship. This movie defines the saying ‘a friend in need, is a friend indeed.’ Must watch for all those who aim to understand what friendship should be all about.

3 Idiots (2009)

Is there anyone who hasn’t seen this movie? If yes, then bro you aren’t supposed to live in this world! This story of Rancho, Raju, and Farhan is all about what true friendship is supposed to be like. It’s funny, emotional, touching and a film that you can watch a zillion times. The USP of the film is the bond they share that reminds you of your gang that was exactly this way.

Sholay (1975)

“Yeh dosti hum nahin todenge. Todenge dam magar tera saath na chhodenge…..” this Bollywood classic is one of the most watched and talked films of the century. You might not have watched it but you have obviously heard about it. This tale of Jai and Veeru (played by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra) is too amazing and memorable.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)

This is the film that gave many of us friendship goals. Three friends who go out for a bachelor trip and how the journey changes the lives of Arjun, Imran and Kabir. It’s a story that touched all the right cords of our heart. This trio makes us want to take that trip and experience the change as well!

Andaz Apna Apna (1994)

It was Amar Prem’s banter that won millions of hearts. A film that we will always remember, because this is how friends are in real life!

Rock On! (2008)

This story about four friends and things that each one of them goes through is so relatable that you feel like you’re looking at your own life on the 70mm screen. How many of your friends stand by you at the time of difficulties and despite all the misunderstanding, your friendship wins? Yes, that’s what ‘Rock On’ is all about.

Munna Bhai MBBS (2003)

Have you ever seen a story of friendship between a goon and his loyal mate? Well, this is one of those stories—the chemistry between Circuit and Munna is so magnificent that you will just fall in love with these two.

Wake up Sid (2009)

This film isn’t dramatic or over the board. It’s so natural that every millennial can relate to it. It’s about Sid and Ayesha and how she makes Sid responsible, sensible and independent about things in his life. She isn’t someone who is all into him, but she is someone who stands beside him and helps him find his way.

Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (2013)

Kabir, Naina, Aditi and Avi, this is that perfect gang that lives together and build up memories together. This film tells you how despite having everything in life if your friends are missing, your happiness is incomplete and you should value them before you regret it.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998)

“Pyar dosti hai … agar woh meri sab se achchi dost nahin ban sakti, to main usse kabhi pyar kar hi nahi sakta … kyun ki dosti bina toh pyar hota hi nahin … simple, pyar dosti hai.”

From making Friendship’s Day famous to getting those bands in trend, this film talked about friendship in a beautiful manner. Well, yes there are some things that ruined the plot. However, we love the bromance between Anjali and Rahul.

We have listed out just a few of our favourites, but there are tons of movies that celebrate friendship and its meaning. There are many more beautiful stories. Let us know which one is your favourite and which you plan to watch to go down the memory lane.
