True stories that are inspirational in nature deserve to be glorified on the silver screen and that’s what Karan Johar is doing next. While Dharma production has various movies lined up this year, it is the biopic on the life of Kargil war hero “Sher Shah” Vikram Batra that has caught everyone’s attention.

Playing this character needs someone who can get into the skin of Vikram, and Sidharth Malhotra has been roped in to play this role. For Sid, who is considered to be an average actor, this might be a game-changing film for him.

Sidharth, who is excited about this role said in a statement, “Vikram Batra’s life story will inspire you and bring a smile on your face. I am really excited to play the character and the shoot commences this year.”

However, Sid isn’t the first one to play Vikram Batra, as Abhishek Bachchan already had portrayed this role in 2003 in ‘LOC Kargil’. So it would be interesting to see if he can nail that bit as Jr. Bachchan did.

For those who don’t know, Vikram Batra was a Kargil hero who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra – India’s highest war-time gallantry award.
Directed by Vishnu Varadhan and written by Sandeep Srivastava, the story of ‘Sher Shah’ will indeed give us goosebumps if presented in the right way.
While we have seen Sid playing various roles that have entertained the viewers, this might be the one role that will change his image forever and bring about a turning point in his career.
