When you watched Khal Drogo, the man demanded a certain level of respect and also invoked fear at the same time. You know it didn’t matter if you were watching him on the TV screen, Jason Momoa owned the role like no one could. Actually if you think of it, no one comes to mind who could have done it better. Just look at that stare. Chills!
It totally sucked that the character was killed shortly but it became an iconic role in itself nevertheless. However, if you do some basic maths, you will realise that it wasn’t until a very long time post the first season that we saw him on the screen again. Right? Well, turns out there was a reason behind this absence.
On a recent outing with Jimmy Fallon on his show, Jason explained how many people thought he couldn’t speak English! So eventually thanks to the strong Khal Drogo character, people couldn’t figure out how to place him in a movie.
Even though it sounds ridiculous and funny to us as fans, turns out it was a genuine problem he was facing work wise. Though we are glad that someone figured out soon that he is not from the North or doesn’t actually lead a tribe but is just a fabulous actor, otherwise how would have ‘Bad Batch’ and ‘Aquaman’ happened to him ?
