While the credit of the scene definitely goes to the actors, but Imtiaz Ali the director of the movie also takes away a major chunk of applause for his beautiful way of directing it. In a recent video with Film Companion, Imtiaz shared a few insights on what led to the brilliance of the final product of the scenes that eventually led to the wonderful song ‘Tum Saath Ho’. He shars some inside information about the shoot and how the actors got into the chaacter and how they managed to improvise on the whol script themselves. The whole video gives a new meaning to the song after you watch him explain it.
How many of us knew that there were three versions of this song before this one came up or how this scene in the cafe was shot over two nights and the actors had to emotionally prepare to that. The song combines the brliiance of his direction, the stellar acting of Ranbir and Deepika, the musical genius of A.R Rahman and ofcourse the magic of Alka Yagnik and Arijit Singh.
