If you were handpicked as one of the few buyers for a rare supercar, you would obviously want to hold on to it, right? But, John Cena is not like everyone, and doesn’t care about that, apparently.
Ford had personally chosen buyers for the $450,000-plus Ford GT supercar, and John Cena was one of the few lucky people who managed to get their hands on this super exclusive supercar.

But, he didn’t waste any time and soon sold this car for cash, and has ended up with legal troubles now. But, really though, he’s a millionaire, why did he need cash so bad that he breached his contract. Moreover, if he had waited to sell the car, he would have made a hell lot of money because one, it’s a rare supercar and their value just increases over time, and second, who wouldn’t to buy John Cena’s car if they can afford it.
And then, Ford got wind of Cena flipping the car before he was legally allowed to, and has decided to sue him. Apparently, the 40-year old star was bound by a contract that specified that is supposed to hold on to the car for at least 2 years.
The lawsuit, which has been filed in U.S. District Court in Michigan, reportedly says John got a massive profit from the sale. “Mr Cena has unfairly made a large profit from the unauthorised resale flip of the vehicle, and Ford has suffered additional damages and losses, including, but not limited to, loss of brand value, ambassador activity, and customer goodwill due to the improper sale.”
Okay, but honestly, if John Cena didn’t say “You can’t sue me!” at least once when he got the news, that would be the biggest disappointment of this highly disappointing year.
Even though he is worth millions of dollars, he, apparently, sold the car and some property just to pay bills. And, if is actually in a financial crunch, this whole thing has probably backfired on him, as Ford now wants all the proceeds from the sale as well as damages.
He was interested in buying the car, but it wasn’t like Ford just handed it over to him because he’s famous. Those who were interested in purchasing had to apply for it, with more than 7,000 doing so.
Those who were selected for the ultimate prize includes artist Deadau5, actor Scott Eastwood, American NASCAR driver Joey Logano, baseballer C. J. Wilson and YouTuber Shmee150.
He also appeared in a YouTube video on the Bella Twins’ channel promoting the 2017 Ford GT, back in October. Even though he couldn’t properly fit inside the car, he had nothing but praise for the car’s carbon fibre materials and stunning aerodynamics. He also noted it’s the most powerful V6 ever made.
Throughout the video, he was so happy talking about the car, it’s hard to understand why he sold it so suddenly.
