Guess what, you horror movie freaks? Pennywise the evil clown is making a coming back for the sequel of the record breaking, highest grossing film ‘It’. The film is scheduled to be released at a theatre near you, in less than two years; in September 2019.

The second half of Stephen Kings’ marvelous scary-to-the-hilt rendition will be directed by Andy Muschietti . If you remember, the first half ends with the kids finally sending Pennywise back where he came from. Since Pennywise surfaces after every 27 years, the second half will focus on the kids from the ‘Loser’s Club’, when they’re all grown up, 27 years later, and are brought back together by a devastating phone call.

The sequel was envisioned from the start, when Gary Dauberman penned the first part. He will also be writing the second half, while Muscheitti gets ready to direct it. The kids from the ‘Loser’s Club’ will be in their 30’s to early 40s roughly and many actors have already been suggested on social media to fit their roles. Let’s see who gets to fight the clown and send him back to hell, this time!

‘It’ was a huge success in the horror movie genre, not just for this year, but for every horror movie ever made; ‘It’ surpassed box office collections and beat even ‘The Exorcist’, earning a record breaking $123million in the US. ‘It’ also had the biggest opening for an R-rated movie, largest opening for a movie based on a book and the best opening for a New Line release and get this, ‘It’ is almost nearing half a billion worldwide! If this one didn’t scare you, we really don’t know what will!

Coming back to the sequel though, we’re sure it will do justice to the first one and give us a peek into the lives of the seven kids who bravely fought the monster, in order for him to stop haunting them, for the next 27 years. The sequel will be titled ‘It: Chapter II’ and we’re more than curious where the story is heading, with the scary clowns haunting adults now, or wait, will he be haunting their kids instead? Only one way to find out! Let the wait begin.

Depression is as consuming as any other physical sickness. It engulfs you in its moulds and questions your functionality and unless efforts are made to get out of it, it keeps you trapped. Anyone can go through depression and there isn’t a scale or a measure on who it can or cannot affect. Even world famous celebrities have gone through mental health issues and come out of it to tell their tales to the world.

Our Indian celebrities have battled their fair share of mental health issues and have been very open about it in order to help everyone else, who is battling it, come out happy and healthy. These celebrities have shown nothing but humility, grace and courage to do this as openly as they can.

Here’s a list of 6 Indian male celebrities who have battled with mental health issues in the past and openly talked about it. Maybe this will give you ample courage to fight what’s consuming you the most!

Shah Rukh Khan

Loved by all, Shah Rukh Khan went through his share of emotional turbulence back in 2010 when he tore a ligament in his shoulder and couldn’t function much during that time. But since he’s the ‘king’ of Bollywood, he fought the depression he was undergoing with all his might and made successful films like ‘My Name Is Khan, ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Happy New Year’, right after.

Karan Johar

Karan Johar© Filmfare

In an interview with NDTV with Barkha Dutt, back in 2016, the filmmaker revealed how he fought clinical depression in the past. He realised it one day when he underwent an anxiety attack, mistaking it for a cardiac arrest. The doctor he went to assured him of his anxiety attack and that’s when he sought professional help. Through his therapy he realised he had a lot of unresolved issues concerning his dad’s death and even with a huge amount of success and money, the emptiness in his life sans a relationship was palatable.

He came out of it clean, after battling with it for a while and now urges more people to seek professional help if they are going through the same ordeal in life.

Tiger Shroff

Jackie junior went through a fair share of depression after his film ‘Flying Jatt’ tanked at the box office. His bout went on for a month and he indulged in emotional eating and staying to himself, dealing with the flop. Soon after the rough patch, he came back to life and embraced his misgivings and failures. The actor often wondered why people didn’t appreciate his role in ‘A Flying Jatt’ since he had put in so much hard work and slowly let go of how he felt about the failure and what it put him through..

Honey Singh

Honey Singh© Facebook

You may have noticed Honey Singh’s sudden disappearance from the music scene. A whole lotta us are missing his peppy tunes and intense raps about life, likes and sharaab. The musician just came clean with his fans about battling bipolar disorder. He shut off all rumours claiming he was in rehab due to a drug overdose and told his fans he was being treated for bipolar disorder and had gone through some tough times while doing so, for the past 18 months. Singh was cooped up in his Noida house, going from one doctor to the other, trying to get the right treatment. Someone who could perform in front of 20,000 people couldn’t even face 4-5 people and was perpetually ‘scared’ of the condition he was in. Finally he met a doctor who helped him fight the disorder and he was in a place to come out and talk about his condition with his fans.

Today he has managed to battle one of the most consuming mental health issues and is still under his doctor’s supervision, while he comes out and narrates his tale.

Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan© Maddock Films

Just like how Heath Ledger got into the skin of the Joker, while shooting for ‘The Dark Knight’, and eventually letting the character affect his mental health, similarly Varun Dhawan too went deep into his characters role in ‘Badlapur’ and the role eventually took a toll on his mental health too. He wasn’t clinically declared depressed but the actor was definitely heading in that direction. According to him, he had not faced the grim realities of life that were portrayed in the film and because he had to play a character that went through hardships, the role had an adverse effect on him. He sought professional help by going for counselling and openly talked about it later, setting a bright example for the youth to seek help when it’s needed.

Randeep Hooda

Randeep Hooda© Pooja Entertainment

Method actor, Hooda too slipped into depression right after shooting for ‘Sarabjit’. Hooda likes to get into the character as much as he can before playing it and that’s what he did for the film ‘Sarabjit’, where he plays Sarabjit Singh. He used to lock himself up in the bathroom for days, writing letters just like how Sarabjit used to write. Right after ‘Sarabjit’, the actor went on to play an abductor in Highway which also led him to depression, due to the seriousness of the role.

Depression can affect anyone, at any time and it doesn’t always follow a reason. It can come through normalcy in life or it can come about when you suppress things at large and can’t keep them under a rug anymore. These actors have been bold enough to fight depression from the root cause and seek help when it was needed the most. Be it through their heavy roles or personal and professional tragedies, they went through their fair share of mental health issues and now are openly talking about it and urging folks to come right ahead and fight what is almost consuming and unfathomable!

The Blue Whale challenge has left us all a bit frazzled, wondering how the world really functions. The tasks that were put forward, questioned the very morality of human existence. The game was an assertive transformation of actions, leading to one’s death and the designers made sure the young participants followed each task to the T, eventually leading to the participant’s death. From carving a whale on the player’s arm with a razor to watching gory, scary videos and clips at ungodly hours, the participants did everything to psyche themselves out, before agreeing to the last task- which was to jump off a ledge to their death, from a high-rise building.

Although the perpetrators have been caught and imprisoned, the game still remains a gruesome memory and the darkness of it is still a bit malleable. To counter the negative effects of the Blue Whale game, a young boy by the name of Waseem Gul from Pakistan has developed a positive rendition of the game through an app to wipe away any association and the memory of the original Blue Whale game.

This app also includes 50 tasks, like the original Blue Whale game but Waseem’s game is focused more on making people’s lives better and get this, he is just an 18-year-old kid! The game captioned the anti-Blue Whale game’ has already hit app stores and is surely giving away a positive message to all impressionable young kids, all over the world.

The tasks are rather simple and focus more on the smaller, more positive things in life, which give us instant happiness. We’re going to list some of the tasks we found, here, see if you want to start doing them already!

· Do 10 push-ups

· Wake at 6:00 am

· When you wake up, don’t move from your bed for 10 minutes

· Touch your nose using your right thumb

· Slice a fresh onion and try not to cry while doing it

· Eat a donut but don’t lick your fingers/lips afterwards

· Eat 1 big tablespoon of pure ketchup

· Help your parents with household work

· Remember- helping others without interest is cool

· Do something special today

When the player reaches the 50th task, a message pops up saying “Congratulations you have become a Smart BlueWhale. Remember your life is a precious gift, don’t waste it on strange challenges you find on the internet. The world is full of strange people, some of them will try to scare you in order to make you do odd things, if something like this happens to you, inform your parents or adults that you trust. Stay healthy and happy blue whale grand master”.

Waseem has probably cracked life’s success mantra and has put it on an app for young people to follow. We think more youngsters around us should start doing things that make them happy and pull the plug on the negativities around them!

You can download the app here.

They say, when in doubt, put on a great documentary and thank the lord for freeing you from the grips of boredom and your-favourite-show-ending withdrawals.  We have a fresh new documentary, right up your alley and you’ll love how it will surround you with exceptional deliberation after you finish watching it.

‘Strong Island’, unfolds with the cold blooded murder of a young man in the early 90s when the African-American population in America was still fighting the racist onslaught, brought onto them. The documentary is quite powerful and personal at the same time and the story revolves around a black family that could not sustain the blow of racial injustice and eventually fell apart.

On April 7th, 1992, in a Long Island suburb of New York City, a 24-year-old man by the name of William Ford Jr. was shot point blank by a white Caucasian male, Mark Reilly, who was a 19-year-old at the time. In a real time account, Reilly worked as an employee at an automobile body shop and his tow truck had hit Ford Jr.’s girlfriend’s car. In order to avoid an unpleasant situation with the cops, Ford and Reilly struck a deal wherein Reilly would fix Ford’s girlfriend’s car for free. Reilly kept the car longer than expected and after an argument between Ford and Reilly over the delay, Ford was shot at the auto repair shop by Reilly, with a rifle.

The grand jury declined to indict Reilly on murder charges and claimed that Reilly shot Ford as he was afraid of his own life and shot him in self defence. Investigations on Ford’s murder were carried out but nothing concrete came to fruition. Twenty years later, the investigating officer is still assuring Yance Ford, William Ford’s brother and the director of Strong Island, that they left no stoned unturned in investigating Ford’s murder and whatever happened in April of ’92 was just unfortunate.

The documentary further unfolds the gripping harsh reality of racial injustice in America back then and how the entire family had to deal with Ford’s loss, without getting proper justice. For them the turmoil of racism had long ended when they left everything behind in black history, but they were so wrong. The Ford family struggled for years with the grief of loss, entwined with historical injustice meted out to them, whilst they grappled with the complicity of silence from a nation which had a false idea of justice.

The documentary dwells more into questions asked about how the case was dealt with and it goes way deeper into tracing the roots of racist tension in the 60’s and the 70’s in America. The deeper Yance went, the more complicated it got. Finally after ten years Yance brings about this documentary with all the answers he needed to find, even if he had to spend years tracing the investigator who was involved in Ford Juniors murder. The documentary also questions the callous racist attitude of America, where the black man is still treated as a second class citizen, even after being killed in a cold blooded murder.

'Strong Island' Is A Powerful Documentary And Has A 100% On Rotten Tomatoes© Netflix

Definitely get your hands on this one as it will push you to understand the travesties faced by an upper-middle class black family in America and how their lives changed within minutes because of the colour of their skin. Besides, Rotten Tomatoes has given this one a 100% score, which means it surely has had an impact on the masses and is definitely one of the most celebrated documentary defining the crux of racism.  Watch the trailer below.

‘Strong Island’ is available on Netflix, so Netflix and chill this weekend perhaps?

As we wait for the much awaited release of the ‘Judwaa’ remake, the charm of the first release will always be incomparable. Although Varun Dhawan has successfully and fittingly soaked in Salman’s previous role(s) as Prem and Raja, respectively, Salman still has all his moves intact and he’s here to prove that!

The second release has Jacqueline Fernandez and Tapsee Pannu starring in it along with Dhawan junior and they’re doing whatever it takes to promote their forthcoming rom-com- like posting some behind the scenes videos on social media or humming some tracks from the new release.

Jacqueline, though, has been travelling to the UK for the Da-Bangg Tour 2017 and hasn’t had the chance to do as many promotional promos for the release as Tapsee and Varun have been doing in the country. This though hasn’t deterred the ‘Kick’ actor’s spirit to go on a ‘Judwaa 2’ promotional spree and recently she was found jiving to the famous old ‘Judwaa’ song ‘Tan Tanaa Tan Tan Tan Taara’, with our very own Sallu Bhai and she proudly dedicated the video to the new Salman avatar, Varun.

Her Instagram post was showered with a lot of love and adoration for the two actors goofing around on the old movie’s famous track and the video was shared with the caption that read ‘ Tan Tana Tan with the original Judwa @beingsalmankhan just for you @varundvn time for @judwaa2 now!! #mumbaibound’

A post shared by Jacqueline Fernandez (@jacquelinef143) on Sep 18, 2017 at 1:04am PDT

The remake is being directed by Sajid Nadiadwala and the storyline will not steal much focus from David Dhawan’s original release except that it will have Dhawan’s son Varun bringing back Salman’s two characters, Raja and Prem in a similar role. Similarly Tapsee will be seen playing Karishma Kapoor’s character and Fernandez fitting into Rambha’s role respectively. The film is expected to release on September 29th, 2017.

Just to make you a wee bit nostalgic and take you back to the 90’s, here’s a glimpse of the original ‘Tan Tanaa Tan’ from the first ‘Judwaa’ , obviously staring the Dabang star himself.

So, if you’re still hungover from the first movie, don’t forget to book your seats for this new thrilling remake, at the end of this month!

Just as Liam Neeson announces his retirement from action/thriller films because he feels he’s too old to play an action hero (hear that Shah Rukh?) we’ll see him in what we assume his last thriller, ‘The Commuter’, coming out early next year. The film seems enticing enough to hold our attention (at least that’s what we figured from the trailer) and it unfurls a dramatic criminal conspiracy Neeson is badly stuck in (as per usual).

We will see Neeson pair up with director Jaume Collet-Serra once again for this gripping mystery that unravels on the commuter rail that Neeson’s character takes daily for his commute. Micheal Woolrich (Neeson), an insurance salesman on his daily commute to work meets a mysterious woman (Vera Farmiga) who drags him into a criminal conspiracy and lures him into an enticing opportunity, which obviously comes with a downside.

The conversation between the two characters start when she sits next to him on the train and asks him to solve a riddle and uncover the identity of a hidden passenger on the train he’s on. Somehow the riddle turns a bit deadly and before you know it, Micheal is racing against time to solve the mystery before the last train station!

Okay, we’re not going to give away anymore of the movie. You can watch the teaser below and see what the fuss is all about.

‘The Commuter’ marks Liam Neeson and Jaume Collet-Serra’s forth movie together (enough already!), their last project being ‘Run All Night’, which was released back in 2015. We just feel this movie will do really well for Neeson post his big ‘retirement’ announcement. We expect to see a lot of his fans excited for this one as it might be his last thrillier’ish movie. Naturally you can expect Neeson to run through carriages holding a gun perhaps? And some phone action as well.

His debut as an action hero was with the hit ‘Taken’, where he played a government official who is trying to find and reconnect with his daughter (watch it if you haven’t already!) and now with a dozen action movies under his belt, he plans to call it quits, right after ‘The Commuter’ hits the screens, second week of January, 2018.

Wait this one out; it’s definitely worth the winters!

Christian Bale is back and like a good penny this time with his new western release, ‘Hostiles’, which just came out on the 2nd of this month. ‘Hostiles’, a sorrowful and action packed Western is set amidst beauty, revenge and tears. The film highlights the Native American resistance in the 1890’s.

This Scott Cooper drama resolves around a respectful army general (Christian Bale) who is tasked with escorting a Native American chief across hostile territory, post his civil war years. Rosamund Pike who plays Rosalee Quaid is settler who loses her family to Comanche renegades. They murder her husband and shoot her daughters and her infant son and the movie grows from there when Rosalee carries her lifeless children in her arms for days. That’s the grim and gripping reality of Cooper’s underpinnings of the Western genre. The characters fall through beautifully and connect on increasingly bold strokes of compassion and resentment all put together. The group of men along with Bale, escorting the American Native chief, finally come to where Pike’s house was burned down and find her tightly clutching the dead bodies of her children. That’s when Bale makes an executive decision to escort the helpless, shivering woman to safety.

The film eventually revolves around the group facing many challenges as they walk together in the wild-wild west, one of them being the engaging masculinity all the male characters display, where the men have to be men with heaving deep voices, silent eyes and wounded hearts.

The director however has tried to romanticise violence through a lot of blood and gore. The characters are shot, gutted and hanged at every given scene and they aren’t really given a chance to put up a good fight, throughout. Although, each character has a well defined role and the selection of actors for the film is justified, the film too beautiful unfolds along the Western land of opportunities and bad fate, presumably. The film beautifully introduces Bale’s character as a staunch patriot, who has nothing left to show for his patriotism from the past, except a bitter view of prevalent human condition in which mindlessly killing one another is the way of life.

New Christian Bale Movie 'Hostiles' Is Out© Youtube

The film is more suited for Western movie connoisseurs than for younger audiences as its more contemplative and serious and not really something that’ll keep you at the edge of your 400 rupee seat. Watch it for the thrill of the long lost west, in any case.

We know there’s a massive void in your life since ‘Game of Thrones’ has ended… for now. Most of us are still taken aback by the various plot twists presented in the show, one of them being the astounding chemistry between Jon and Dany and we’re really gonna miss them onscreen, till they’re back again with a ‘bang’.  But fret not GoT lovers and lurkers alike, we may not be seeing both of them together but we will sure as hell see Snow in a completely new avatar.

A New Drama Series Called Gunpowder Will Be Airing This Autumn And Will Be Starring Kit Harrington© Pinterest

Kit Harrington is going to be starring soon in a short BBC drama series called ‘Gunpowder’, which will be aired this autumn. It may not be as thrilling and nerve gripping as ‘Game of Thrones’ is for us but it’s definitely going to take us back in time, again. The 17th century drama is centred on the Gunpowder plot which was an attempted assassination of King James I of England. It’s not all that boring and we’re sure that this series has its own set of plot twists too. Plus you get to see Kit, all over again. Also, did you know the main protagonist in the show, Robert Catesby, the leader of the Gunpowder plot is actually Kit Harrington’s maternal descendant? No we’re not kidding. We believe this and the fact that he looks hot as hell in sheepskin cloaks, strappy boots and sexy tunics and fedoras is the reason he was cast in the show in the first place. Don’t get us wrong, we’re not ruling out his acting abilities. Check out the teaser below

The trailer starts with Jon, oops we mean Robert Catesby narrating how his loved ones were killed and tortured and how his name was dragged through the mud and how he wishes to seek revenge by killing the king. Sounds really familiar doesn’t it? Well we certainly hope we can pull away from Snow’s character and give himself a chance to grow into Robert Catesby’s character instead. Who really knows? Catesby might make such an impact that we might forget Snow, in the next two years. Yeah right, like that’s ever gonna happen!

Unsurprisingly though, people are quite stoked about this show and waiting with bated breath for its release.

Apart from a twisted cacophony of events, ‘Game Of Thrones’ has also given us really intense characters, who have been well realized and defined both by the book and the series. Mr. Martin has really gone inwards, in to the soul of each character and psychoanalysed their traits and the purpose of their existence. We may not be able to relate to every character on the show but we can certainly feel the intensity they bring with them on screen and make us fall in love (or not) with them each time.

Do you ever assume you relate to a particular character, so much so that you think maybe you were born to fit into the exact role? If you’re a true ‘Game of Thrones’ fan, we’re sure you’ve been asked ‘who do you want to play’ or ‘who do you think you’ll be’  or even pondered over who is that one character that suits your personality best.

Here are six men from ‘Game of Thrones’ with their rich and powerful characteristics and their personalities broken down, so that you can figure out who you can relate to best.

Let us know in the comments section!

Tyrion Lannister – The Intellectual Charmer

A tiny man, with a rather big intellect, Tyrion is a kind and intelligent man whose brain is as sharp as a tack. Being a little person, he is constantly mocked but that does not deter his confidence to be himself, one bit. He does not belittle himself or second guess himself ever and he’s a staunch supporter of truth and doing the right thing. He embraces his ‘short’comings well and has a sharp tongue to give a piece of his mind to whoever dares  makes fun of him. He loves his family but cannot stand sly, sluggish and evil behaviour displayed by anyone, not even his family members. He commits to a higher moral ground and sticks with his purpose, through thick and thin. Good with the ladies, he’s certainly a charming personality.

Jon Snow- The Benevolent Thinker

John has inherently good traits and a heart of gold with boatloads of dedication. He spends a lot of time thinking of tactical ways to get what he wants without hurting anyone. If he wasn’t the King In The North, we assume he’d become a fine grand maester in the future. Another great thing about his character is that he is a man of his word and always keeps his promise. His loyalty and integrity are traits every man should strive to achieve. This character doesn’t sway much towards distractions when he has more important issues at hand. Ask his women!

Do You Relate To These GoT Characters?© HBO

Jamie Lannister – The King of Redemption

Well, his character teaches us that even though there is evil in someone it can always transcend into goodness. Jamie started off as being known as the King Slayer after he killed the mad king but through his experiences in life and after encountering a lot of hardships, he began to understand the goodness that life brings. The transformation is always slow for such people but it’s beautiful. His character is all about redemption and it proves that even if a mistake is made, it doesn’t necessarily define you. Through his association with other people, we realise that he has learnt to grow in the right direction and that anyone is capable of loyalty and compassion. We think his character can be relatable to most men- make as many mistakes as you want but always learn from them and become the best version of yourself.

Do You Relate To These GoT Characters?© HBO

Samwell Tarly- The Wise Simpleton

Samwell is an unwanted element both at his work and by his family, who ask him to leave. His character teaches us not to give up on life and use what you have best to take you where you want to go. He’s not the best fighter but spends his time behind books and knowledge and is probably the only one who knows most of the unspoken secrets there are to know, through books and knowledge. He works hard on his knowledge and uses it best to help people as much as he can. His character teaches us that knowledge is power and you really don’t have to be macho if you use the goodness of knowledge for a greater purpose in life. He’s definitely a loyal friend to have around too and you can trust his character with your life!

Do You Relate To These GoT Characters?© HBO

Ramsay Bolton- The Evil Sadist

We all have a Ramsay amidst us, don’t we? Well, some people don’t have to be as gruesome as his character but they portray a trait which is sadistic, deriving pleasure from others misery. They don’t hurt people physically, necessarily, but they play vicious mind games with others. Ramsay has no redeeming quality, so to speak, as he is Martins most evil creation. He is termed as an out and out psychopath and he gets what he wants always and never gives up. His character mostly stems from seeing brutality at a very young age and applying the same as he grows older. There is still redemption out there, for those of you who do relate to his character! If you don’t seek it now then we’re afraid you might just meet the same fate as him!

Do You Relate To These GoT Characters?© HBO

Petyr (Littefinger) Baelish- The Conniving Mastermind

Baelish is not necessarily harmful but he can get you in ways that no one has before! Shrewd, selfish and conniving he usually keeps a track of whatever is going around him and indulges in useless gossip and banter and later uses that against people. Baelish’s character is good at pitting two or more people against each other and starting a full fledged war amidst them, just by using his mind. Yes, he’s as comparable to the vamps you see on Hindi television series these days! Do you relate, even a little bit?

Each character has a separate trait, so if you relate to even one of them, its time to let the world know!
