We still have nearly two years to go for ‘Game of Thrones’ to bless us with the 8th and final season and make us love Mondays again; but the stars are making the wait tougher for us with each passing day. Let’s face it: the ‘Game of Thrones’ world is not a happy place to live in and is actually one of the cruelest times to survive (before you get stabbed, ambushed, burnt or have your eyeballs popped out brutally). But, all this atrocity does not stop anyone from loving the show and going sleepless for nights to catch up on the past episodes.

Emilia Clarke & Jason Momoa Reunite Post Game Of Thrones Days© HBO

Ask the avid fans about who their favourite characters are and they will unanimously vouch for only one couple – Khal Drogo and Khaleesi. Although their journey started with a forced marriage, the couple soon became one of the most loved characters on the show; and after Khal Drogo’s heartbreaking death, ‘King of the North’ Jon Snow entered the scene taking incest to a whole new level on the show. Well, despite so much going on in the GOT world, Khaleesi aka Daenerys Targaryen took out some time recently to meet her late husband in real life and the awesome picture of the encounter speaks volumes about how happy they were to meet each other after so long.

Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa were recently clicked hanging out in London and within no time this picture drowned the fans in a pool of memories, with people going wild over this reunion and how much they miss this couple and want to see them work together again.

When life is so good that your sun and stars is in your city…you lose your eyes and gain 5 grins ðŸ˜? But, it’s not just the picture we are falling in love with. Emilia Clarke’s caption is equally hilarious. She wrote, “When life is so good that your sun and stars is in your city…you lose your eyes and gain 5 grins (and gins) where until now they’d only been one…(*grins-there’s always more gins) @prideofgyspsies YOU ALWAYS MOTHER OF DRAGONS MAIN MAN. She even teased Jon Snow with this picture and wrote #lookoutjonsnowdrogosgotyournumber.

Well, we are sure Jon Snow isn’t losing out on much action, since he too is busy planning his wedding with his former lover Ygritte i.e. Rose Leslie, in real life.

So folks, which team are you on – team Khaleesi & Khal Drogo, team Jon Snow & Ygritte or team Dany & Jon Snow?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has earlier delivered blockbusters like ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’, seems to have finally found his success mantra and that is his films’ leading lady, Deepika Padukone. After taking the world by storm with her exceptional acting prowess, Deepika is all set to play the Goddess Queen, Padmavati in the movie slated to release in December. However, it seems that this lethal collaboration won’t just end here, since Deepika has now bagged a role in Bhansali’s biopic on celebrated poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi. Deepika will be playing renowned poetess Amrita Pritam, Ludhianvi’s muse.

Speculations were rife that Priyanka Chopra will be playing the role of Amrita Pritam, but after she turned down the project, several names and suggestions popped up. According to a report published in Quint, Deepika has been finalized to play Pritam, opposite Abhishek Bachchan who will step into the shoes of Sahir Ludhianvi. According to sources, Abhishek has already started preparing for the role, “Abhishek has begun preparing for his Sahir biopic. He will begin rigorous interaction with Sanjay Bhasanli after ‘Padamavati’ releases. But his groundwork on Sahir has begun in right earnest.

Deepika Padukone Will Play Amrita Pritam In Sahir Ludhianvi Biopic© UTV Motion Pictures

The source was further quoted as saying, “He is regularly listening to the immortal repertoire of Sahir’s lyrics from Guru Dutt’s ‘Pyasa’ to Yash Chopra’s ‘Trishul’. Abhishek’s father had the good fortune to interact with Sahir when he worked in ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ and ‘Trishul’. So Bachchan Saab is able to provide plenty of invaluable inputs to Abhishek’s preparation.”

Amrita Pritam and Sahir Ludhianvi’s romance was never a conventional affair and quite ahead of their time, and it will be interesting to see how Deepika and Abhishek recreate that romance. While it will be Deepika’s fourth film with Bhansali, this will mark Abhishek’s first collaboration with the director. Deepika and Abhishek have earlier worked together in movies like ‘Happy New Year’ and ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’. Although they didn’t really captivate our hearts, we have our hopes really high for this one.

After stalwarts like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Irrfan Khan proved their mettle in Hollywood, more and more Indian actors are working towards fulfilling their American dreams. Recently, actor Ali Fazal floored us all with his exceptional acting in ‘Victoria & Abdul’ opposite the iconic Judy Dench. Now, another Indian actor is all set to make his hotshot Hollywood debut and the first look is proof enough that you can’t miss this one.

Dhanush, who is best known for ‘Raanjhanaa’ and his viral song ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’, will soon be seen in ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’. Helmed by Ken Scott, this film is based on the book ‘The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir Who Got Trapped In An IKEA Wardrobe’ written by Romain Puértolas.

Dhanush will play the protagonist Ajatashatru Oghash Rathod, a man who sets out on an extraordinary journey to find his estranged father. This comedy-adventure movie is being shot in Mumbai, Brussels, Rome and Paris among other places. Looking suave in a blue suit, Dhanush looks nothing close to a fakir, which kind of intrigues to know more about both the character and the movie and how well does it justify the book that became an international bestseller selling in over than 30 countries. Dhanush will be joined by French actress Bérénice Bejo, who is known for films like ‘The Artist’ and ‘The Childhood of a Leader’.

An ecstatic Dhanush reportedly expressed his happiness on signing this movie in a statement, saying he was happy to be a part of the film with collaborators from three continents and that he was looking forward to an extraordinary journey ahead. In fact, Scott is also excited about having Dhanush onboard and had earlier said that he is a highly talented actor to work with. According to Variety, Scott said, “What’s great is I get to work with a great actor, Dhanush, who is a huge star in India. He’s a great actor, but also a great dancer, a great singer, he has a very unique way of dancing and moving, he’s just very charming.”

While talking about the book, Scott said, “The book was a huge success. It was sold in 36 countries. It’s a bestseller. There are many aspects that interested me, there’s obviously comedy, a lot of comedy, some very poetic moments. It’s the story of a magician/ thief who grew up in this small neighbourhood in Mumbai, India, he sets sail on this journey of self-discovery throughout Europe.”

The movie also stars Erin Moriarty, Barkhad Abdi and Abel Jafri. The first look and the poster appear to be highly promising and given how versatile and effortless Dhanush’s acting is, this movie is straight away going in our must-watch list.

The king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan turns 52 today and like a kid who gets excited on seeing something unimaginable, our excitement too knows no bounds. Despite crossing the golden 50, he can easily give any actor half his age a run for his money. Does anyone know what elixir is he drinking every day?

Shah Rukh Khan birthday

Be it his effortless acting, his charm to set the screens on fire with a crackling chemistry with his leading ladies, or sweeping people off their feet with his witty one-liners; Shah Rukh Khan is the undisputed king of romance, wit and sarcasm. Be it movies, his Twitter or Instagram or his classic TED talks, SRK is the only actor, who can make the whole world bow in front of his charisma. After mesmerizing the world with movies like ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ and ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ and giving men across the country a hard time to impress their girl, SRK even got Google CEO Sundar Pichai on his show, ‘TED Talks India: Nayi Soch’.

His popularity is no joke! Although the actor began his birthday celebrations last night with his close friends and family in Alibaug, this did not stop his fans from flooding the road outside his residence ‘Mannat’ just to wish the superstar. Just like his fans, celebrities too flooded their social media with birthday wishes for the King.

Horror has always been a tricky genre to play with – more like a hit or miss – for the directors. You either make a great film that attains cult status or you make something so bad that it makes people burst out laughing instead of screaming in fear. After all, there’s a reason why Stephen King’s ‘It’ and ‘The Exorcist’; and ‘1920’and ‘Phoonk’ exist in the same universe. But, no matter how much we shriek and tremble after watching Hollywood classics, Japan is the badass daddy of all when it comes to playing with horror and supernatural thrillers.

Top 10 Japanese Horror Movies© Showgate

J-Horror has been making people pee their pants in fear since 1960s when classics like ‘Onibaba’ and ‘Kwaidan’ were released and is worshipped globally by every avid fan of supernatural thrillers. They bow down in front of the awesome imagination and rich story-telling of Japanese directors. Well, for a land that has given us Akiro Kurosawa and Takashi Miike; you can’t expect anything but the best.

So, without further ado, we present to you the ultimate J-horror list that we bet you wouldn’t be able to watch alone. So, go ahead and dare your friends to finish the entire list.

1. Ringu – 1998

Hideo Nakata does a fantastic job in scaring the life out of people with his 1998 psychological horror ‘Ringu’. The film revolves around a reporter who sets out to investigate the mystery behind a certain videotape that is cursed – whoever watches the tape dies within 7 days.

The 2002 hit film ‘The Ring’ starring Naomi Watts was an American remake of this classic.

2. Ju-On: The Grudge – 2002

The brutal murder of a woman and her child casts an evil curse on a house and anyone who sets foot inside gets killed by the vengeful spirits. Directed by Takashi Shimizu, this movie is the third installment in the ‘Ju-on’ series.

3. Noroi: The Curse – 2005

Top 10 Japanese Horror Movies© Xanadeux

Created in a documentary and ‘found footage’ format, this movie revolves around a paranormal expert who disappeared while filming the most disturbing documentary of his career on an ancient demon. This movie f**ks with your mind as you try to figure out who the real demon is.

4. Audition – 1999

Top 10 Japanese Horror Movies© Basara Pictures

Takashi Miike waves his magic wand around ‘Audition’ and turns it into a classic film that you just can’t afford to miss. A widower decided to start dating again and stages an audition to meet potential partners. He eventually starts dating a woman only to realize that she might be a psychopath with a dark and brutal past.

5. Onibaba – 1964

Top 10 Japanese Horror Movies© Kindai Eiga Kyokai

If you haven’t seen ‘Onibaba’, then you are really missing out on the best movie ever made in the world. Directed by Kaneto Shindo, this is a historical drama horror in the backdrop of a civil war, where two women kill soldiers and steal their possessions. One of the women comes across a demon mask and dons it to frighten the other woman.

6. Marebito – 2004

Top 10 Japanese Horror Movies© Adness K.K.

‘Marebito’ is another classic which many people wouldn’t even dare to watch in the first place. The mere synopsis sends chills down our spine, so one can only imagine how gruesome and intense the movie is going to be. A cameraman, obsessed with fear brings a woman home, only to realize that she survives on blood. How he looks after her, while dodging certain bizarre characters, weaves the rest of the plot.

7. Over Your Dead Body – 2014

Top 10 Japanese Horror Movies© Celluloid Dreams

‘Over your dead body’ also known as ‘Kuime’ is a 2014 J-horror movie that takes on through the life of characters both on and off stage. As the line between reality and fantasy gets blurred, the characters find themselves trapped in a deadly love game that soon turns into an evil grudge.

8. Kwaidan – 1964

Top 10 Japanese Horror Movies© Toho Company

Another classic film directed by Masaki Kobayashi, ‘Kwaidan’ is a compilation of four Japanese folk tales, each with their own tinge of supernatural elements that will surely leave you trembling in fear. We recommend this as a must-watch movie.

9. Ichi The Killer – 2001

Top 10 Japanese Horror Movies© Omega Project

When Takashi Miike helms a film, there is no room for any doubts about the movie being an average one and ‘Ichi The Killer’ furthers the same. Also known as ‘Koroshiya Ichi’, this movie is a Japanese crime-horror that revolves around a sadomasochistic hoodlum who comes across a psychotic killer after his boss goes missing.

10. Dark Water – 2002

Top 10 Japanese Horror Movies© Kadokawa Shoten Publishing Co.

The movie talks about a mother who is going through an ugly divorce and fighting for her young daughter’s custody. However, after the mother and daughter move into a new apartment, they realize they aren’t the only residents. They start seeing disturbing visions and start getting haunted by the ghost of a young girl who tries everything to draw them towards the supernatural.

Most of you must be getting all jazzed up for ‘trick or treat’ aka Halloween. But, for the rest it’s yet another legit reason to binge-watch horror movies, along with the uninvited guests who will join us between 3 and 4 a.m. (ghosts should get an opportunity to watch their on-screen avatars too).

Sometimes, your past can come back to haunt at a time when you least expect it to go wrong. Veteran actor Kevin Spacey realized this in the most brutal ways possible when his ‘House of Cards’ came crashing down to the ground, after Netflix decided to pull the plug on the show, leading to an unexpected and abrupt end. Yes, our beloved show has been scrapped by Netflix, post the shocking revelation by actor Anthony Rapp, who alleged that Spacey made sexual advances towards him when he was 14-years-old.

Netflix announced that they will scrap the show after the sixth season (a 13-episode series), which is currently in production and will premiere in 2018.

According to a statement issued by Netflix and the studio behind the show, Media Rights Capital, they were “deeply troubled by the news concerning Kevin Spacey.” In fact, the statement further mentioned that, “Executives from both our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.”

This decision came after Spacey apologized publicly for the event that took place nearly 30 years ago, and also came out as gay on Twitter.

pic.twitter.com/X6ybi5atr5

— Kevin Spacey (@KevinSpacey) October 30, 2017

Interestingly, Kevin mentioned how he has had relationships with both men and women in the past and slipped in that he now chooses to live his life as a gay man. While talking about the shocking accusation, he said that he does not remember the encounter and that he is apologetic for his “deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour.”

The ‘Rent’ actor broke his silence in an interview with BuzzFeed and alleged that Spacey tried to get with him sexually at a party in Spacey’s apartment in 1986. He further mentioned that after everyone left, Spacey picked him up and put him on the bed, climbing on top of him. Post the accusation, Kevin has been facing a lot of backlash and Netflix hit the last nail on the coffin by scraping the award-winning show altogether. (Brutal!)

However, this isn’t the only thing that triggered Netflix’s decision. Talks to end the show with this season had been doing rounds for months. In fact, if reports are to believe then Kevin’s upcoming Netflix film ‘Gore’ might face similar fate and get scrapped as well. The International Television Academy has already decided to revoke the Emmy Award that he was supposed to be honoured with on November 20.

Having said that, in a different turn of events Netflix is planning for a ‘House of Cards’ spinoff. According to Variety, both Netflix and Media Rights Capital are in the early stages of development on ideas for a “potential spinoff”. In fact, all the spinoffs will take place in the same universe as ‘House of Cards’ and for those who haven’t started following the series, the show revolves around Frank Underwood who climbs up the ladder of supremacy while seeking revenge on the people who betrayed him.

Just like a great meal feels incomplete without a sinful dessert, an action movie is incomplete if there isn’t a badass cop who dares to cross the limits and go to extreme lengths to catch the bad guy. At times the lines are so blurred that we get confused if they are even supposed to be the ‘good guys’ and torchbearers of justice in the first place. You are compelled to question who’s more dangerous – cops or the criminals? Gerard Butler brings similar vibes to the upcoming crime thriller ‘Den Of Thieves’ and by the looks of the trailer, the movie has the potential to give 2018 that much needed action-packed start.

We Can't Wait For Gerard Butler To Kick Ass In 'Den Of Thieves'© STX Entertainment

The storyline isn’t something extraordinary. In fact, it exploits the age old favorite trick of directors to gather a bunch of thieves and make them pull off one of the biggest bank heists in history. This movie too walks on a similar path – a group of bank robbers plan to take down the Federal Reserve Bank in Los Angeles. However, one of the thieves comes under the radar hands of Butler, who does not have words like mercy or kindness in his dictionary.

He is one straight-up badass, who looks like he was summoned from hell to make things unbearable and painful for people (read: criminals) on earth. The trailer does fulfill our sadistic fantasies, with a scene where Butler remorselessly interrogates a man and tells him that he won’t get any medical help unless he gives some important scoop.

We Can't Wait For Gerard Butler To Kick Ass In 'Den Of Thieves'© STX Entertainment

He is clearly not a cop who will go by the book and neither was Al Pacino in ‘Heat’. First glance at the trailer and the comparison between 1995 ‘Heat’ and ‘Den Of Thieves’ is inevitable. Even if the background of LA does not convince you, a tough cop who thinks and works with equal savagery as criminals will surely remind you Michael Mann’s classic crime film.

‘Den of Thieves’ is helmed by Christian Gudegast and also stars Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent, Pablo Schreiber, Evan Jones, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Max Holloway. Well, after his ‘Geostorm’ tanked big time at the box office, we hope Gerard bounces back with much fierceness with this movie that will release on January 19, 2018.

What was once a personal residence and ‘home sweet home’ of Sarah Winchester in California’s San Jose, is now amongst the most haunted places in the world, and the reason will creep your senses out! While one builds a house for themselves or their family, Sarah was constructing an asylum for hundreds of vindictive ghosts. She got people to work on an insane schedule of 24-hours a day, seven-days a week for decades and built a seven-storey tall, monstrous, mansion with hundreds of rooms, to appease the spirits. The horror of living with ghosts is now being recreated on-screen and the trailer is already out with the iconic Helen Mirren playing Sarah Winchester.

Check Out The Scary Trailer Of 'Winchester' Starring Helen Mirren© Lionsgate

This Gothic mansion exists in reality and is infamous for being the world’s most haunted house and the trailer of ‘Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built’ does complete justice in portraying the same. Helmed by the Spierig brothers, this movie revolves around the Winchester firearms heiress and widow of gun magnate William Wirt Winchester, Sarah Winchester.

After the sudden death of her husband and child, she believes that she is cursed and begins building a mansion with hundreds of rooms in it. But here’s the catch. She is not building a house; she is constructing an asylum or prison for ghosts, one of whom has an old score to settle with the Winchesters.

In fact, if the real stories are to be believed, Sarah didn’t hire an architect, but built the house in a haphazard manner with stairs and doors leading to nowhere and windows overlooking other rooms; owing to her belief in ghosts. Apparently, the spirits directly ‘inspired’ her to design the mansion with number 13 and spider-web motifs looming heavily on the interiors; such as a chandelier with 13 candle holders, drain covers on the sinks with 13 holes, and a large bell which rung 13 times at 1300 hours on every Friday the 13th.

It will be interesting to see how the Spierig brothers who are famed for movies like ‘Jigsaw’, ‘Predestination’ and ‘Daybreakers’; work their magic around this supernatural horror film. While the movie had us at Helen Mirren, names like Jason Clarke, Sarah Snook and Angus Sampson; hit that last nail on our binge list. The movie is slated to release on February 2, 2018.

The pre-independence era and British rule was possibly one of the toughest times to live in. On one hand where people’s hearts were burning with raging revolt and unparalled love for their country, the British were going to extreme lengths to crush that mutiny under their feet. While, our freedom fighters fought with their blood, sweat and tears; we don’t think there was anyone who openly dared to kick the Britishers in their ass. But, our beloved Kapil Sharma did exactly that and instead of getting killed, he got himself a job under a British officer (someone who was kicked by him). This is the premise of Sharma’s upcoming movie ‘Firangi’, which is in reality as desi as one can expect it to be.

Firangi trailer© K9 Productions

Instead of tickling your funny bones, Sharma will actually be seen in a different avatar. He plays a young man who feels that British aren’t bad people. He eventually falls in love with a girl but things backfire when the whole village turns against him thinking he is a traitor working for the British and try to kill him. How will he prove his innocence and convince the villagers and his lover about Britishers not being bad, weaves the rest of the plot.

The trailer packs a lot of funny, intense and romantic moments, which makes this movie a complete entertainer and with Kapil being at the center of this film, you can be ensured that you won’t get bored while watching it. The movie is directed by Rajiev Dhingra and stars Ishita Dutta as his love interest. This film also marks Kapil’s foray into production. From playing comedy roles, romancing multiple women at a time to playing a serious role like this, Kapil has come a long way in Bollywood and we don’t think there’s anything that’s stopping him.

The movie is slated to release on November 24.

Until 2008, we were engrossed in watching the likes of Keanu Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Daniel Craig; beating the shit out of villains on-screen. However, after the release of ‘Taken’, things changed. The world found a new action star in Liam Neeson and the result was these incredible list of movies – ‘The Grey’, ‘Unknown’, ‘A Walk Among the Tombstones’ and ‘Non-Stop’. He not only proved his mettle but also showed the world that he is one of the strongest contenders in the race of action heroes, which is why the news of him retiring from action movies appeared as a shocker to many of his fans.

'The Commuter' Trailer: Liam Neeson Is The Ultimate Badass© Lionsgate Films

This means there won’t be any suspicious phone calls, no more bullets flying in the air, no more running after assassins inside trains and buses, and no more requests or orders to save people. Now, before all that supposedly ends, let’s watch Neeson in full throttle once again in this upcoming action thriller ‘The Commuter’. Don’t get confused by the name! It might sound like a romantic movie where two strangers cross paths with each other during a journey and how they fall in love and live happily forever. Although the first few seconds might dupe you into believing that, the rest of trailer is at farthest end from any fairy tale. Last month, the makers released an intriguing teaser of ‘The Commuter’. Now that the trailer is out, you can go and bite your nails in confusion and anxiety as to what will happen next.

The movie reunites Neeson and Jaume Collet-Serra, who previously worked together on ‘Non-Stop’. The trailer begins with a mysterious woman (Vera Farmiga) who offers a lucrative deal to Neeson to unravel the real identity of a man on the train and our guy, who should by now get used to such random jobs, has only a limited period to fulfill the task. How a regular businessman’s life gets entangled in a criminal conspiracy during his daily commute weaves the rest of the plot. Moving ahead, things soon turn nasty as people started getting hit by buses, trains derail, his loved ones’ lives are put at stake and of course some kickass action inside the train between Neeson and ‘the guy’ in question.

The movie also stars Sam Neill, Elizabeth McGovern, and Jonathan Banks and is expected to hit the theatres on January 12, 2018.
