Dwayne ‘The Rock' Johnson Covers Up His Brahma Bull Tattoo With An Even Bigger Bull

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the biggest stars on the planet. After a successful career as a professional wrestler, he flawlessly transitioned into an incredible actor and ‘rocked’ the movie industry.

And, just as flawlessly, he has managed to transform his infamous Brahma Bull tattoo that had been on his right arm for about 20 years. Even though it had been his signature ink since his wrestling days, the ink wasn’t that impressive, to say the least.

But, not anymore!

It took 3 sessions and 22 hours of painful hardwork under Nikko Hurtado’s inky needle, but the tattoo has been completely transformed. Dwayne Johnson himself has deemed it the ‘evolution of the bull’ and it actually looks really cool.

Evolution of the bull begins w/ @nikkohurtado. I’ve engrained this bull in my DNA for two decades. My core. Humbly, it’s also become a symbol of strength, resilience, heart, power and defiance to so many people around the world. I got this tattoo when I was just a kid. Now I need it to reflect me as a man. All my ink is a rite of passage and spiritual and the MANA (power and spirit) has to be right before we begin. Mana is strong with world renowned Nikko. We talked for hours about the man I am today, compared to who I once was. And who I’ll always be. We all desire to grow and evolve. After the tattoo was done, he posted a comparison picture on Instagram, with a lengthy and poetic explanation in the caption of what this new ink represents and means to him.

Evolution of the bull. Blood, sweat & years. After 3 sessions and 22hrs of tattooing with world renowned @NikkoHurtado, the story’s almost done.. Every detail is a reflection of my own personal history. From the cracks and heavy damage in the bone representing life’s hard lessons I’ve learned over the years. Just like scars and wrinkles – I’m so grateful to have ’em because they’re earned. To the horns, not pointing up or out to the side, but pointing straight ahead representing relentless energy and forward progress. The core and anchor of this image is in the eye. Look closely and you’ll find the life, energy, power and you’ll feel the MANA (spirit). The eye tells the story of a disruptive positive energy always ready to dent the universe. Depending on the light and angle, sometimes the energy’s subtle and sometimes it’s glaring. Through this experience I’ve learned a lot. Everyone always sees what is on the outside what is shown of our lives no one truly knows behind the scenes. @therock is a true gentleman how I came to tattoo him I do not know. I am a truly blessed human. (Thank you Matt) the process of tattooing a client starts with a meeting always finding out what it is they want. Tattoos are markings on the body that are with you for ever. Imagine choosing a birthmark. The tattoo has to represent you, who you are and what you feel, your image and your personality. @therock and I spend time going back and fourth showing him different ideas, different horns different mana. I always want to do what I want to do but I always have to remind myself that when I tattoo a client it is for them and theirs to wear the rest of their lives. I am excited to tweak and build this tattoo a little further after it heals. When I complete a tattoo in one sitting it is never finished my clients all know this to well. I let the tattoo heal, live, age a little before I come back to it and layer it see what it needs to give it the sculpting or life it requires to be abandoned because we all know art is never finished it is simply abandoned. When you think of Jim Carrey, the first things that come to mind are his extremely expressive face and his incredible comic timing. With iconic comedy movies like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask and Dumb and Dumber, and hits like The Truman Show or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, he has proved his versatility as an actor time and again.

But, after having some time away from the limelight, Carrey has returned, this time with a serious documentary showcasing his alternate persona of a painter.

The short documentary film, called ‘I Needed Color’, has been directed by David Bushell, and takes us on his journey as a painter. The film shows Carrey in his home painting on a canvas, while narrating how he developed his talent for imagery and colours.

In the voiceover for the documentary, Carrey says, “When I really started painting a lot, I had become so obsessed that there was nowhere to move in my home. Paintings were everywhere.

“It began on a bleak winter day in New York when I looked around and it got depressing for me. It was then that I thought ‘I needed color’.”

He shows off the several ways he creates art – heavy and measured brushstrokes, modelling clay, scraping paint off of canvases, and then pouring paint directly on them. Just like any artist, he’s trying to bring his thoughts, inner darkness and desires to life with his art, and, in his case, it’s quite vivid.

According to him, painting is very freeing for him. He said, “Free from the future, free from the past, free from regret, free from worry.”

The 6-minute-long film ends with Carrey saying, “I love being alive and the art is the evidence of that.”

Rachel and Ross, Ross and Rachel – they both belong together and they were “always meant to be”, but if you look closely, you’ll realize that their relationship is not so perfect. Their relationship was actually quite unhealthy, with him always being so possessive, and making her prioritize him before everything, even her career. Oh, and how can we forget how he slept with someone like two minutes after deciding to ‘take a break’ from their relationship.

Ross was honestly the worst one out of all of them, and a Twitter user is here to argue that Rachel should’ve ended up Joey instead. Yes, Joey has his flaws, but you can tell that he has a good heart.
