We have seen parents scolding, or at times, even punishing their kids if they do something wrong, but would any parent go to extreme lengths as to kill their own children because of some unknown hysteria that has blanketed society? Well, that’s the premise of Brian Taylor’s upcoming directorial project ‘Mom and Dad’ starring Nicholas Cage and Selma Blair as the violent parents.
Maybe the ‘Savdhaan India’ writers were hired to write a script for this movie, and we can clearly see it all over the trailer. Clearly, they are trying to help or warn the kids who are absolutely terrified of their parents…just saying.

The trailer begins like any other ‘we’re a happy family’ movie where dad Nicholas Cage casually jokes with his children “Take my advice! Don’t ever have kids”. But, soon this advice turns creepier as we delve deeper into the trailer.
Although this movie is a part of the horror comedy genre, we could only sense creepy vibes and the over-the-top acting of the crazy parents, who seemed to be on a different tangent altogether with only one aim in their minds – kill their children.

Nicholas Cage is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors Hollywood has seen till date. Pick any movie of this Oscar-winning actor, ‘Face Off’, ‘National Treasure’ and ‘Ghost Rider’; Cage has proved his mettle in every movie, so clearly our expectations are high from this one too. But, in all honesty, the trailer just failed to hit the target.
We might be too early to point our guns at ‘Mom and Dad’, and you could say that our expectations from a Nicholas Cage movie or the trailer being kind of clueless; did not leave a mark on our minds. But, opinions can be subjective and just like any other movie; Cage was at his wackiest best in this one too. So, if you are into dark comedy served with a tinge horror, this one is for you.

‘Mom and Dad’ also stars Annie Winters, Zackary Arthur, Olivia Croccicchia, Samantha Lemole and Brionne Davis. Having said that, we are sure that you’re dying to find out why these parents have turned into killers and what is fueling their unstoppable urge to kill their kids. And we guess that will be one of the primary reasons for us to drag ourselves to movie theatres on January 19, 2018, when the movie is expected to be released.
