Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter had to shed eight kg to get the role in his debut film Beyond The Clouds right. Ishaan is foraying into the world of entertainment with Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s maiden India-set project Beyond The Clouds.

“Ishaan had 12 days to shed eight kgs. He took that piece of input from his mentor and director and literally just went to town with his mission to be a lean mean machine for ‘Beyond The Clouds’,” said his spokesperson.

“He changed his entire workout regime. His focus was largely on sprints and cycling — strict and disciplined regime to ensure he made it happen,” the spokesperson added.

Ishaan is one of the most awaited debutants on the Bollywood block.

He has also been named for India’s Emerging Account for growing his fanbase on Instagram significantly throughout 2017.

Beyond The Clouds narrates a heart-warming tale of a brother (Amir) and sister (Tara), and how they find happiness in separation and turbulent times. The film celebrates the triumph and adoration of life against a Mumbai backdrop. Ishaan will be seen as Amir.

Produced by Zee Studios and Namah Pictures, the film is set to release worldwide on April 20.

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has the ‘Most Followed Account’ and cricket star Virat Kohli has got the ‘Most Engaged Account’ on Instagram, according to the Instagram Awards which have been announced for the first time in India. Kohli has 19.8 million followers as on Monday. His account generated the biggest number of engagements when all likes and comments from the content that he shared in 2017 — except ‘Story’ views and video views — were aggregated.

The list, which acknowledges photo-sharing platform Instagram’s most engaging community members, also recognises Emerging Account and 20 Million Milestones.

Actor Ishaan Khatter, who will be seen in Dhadak, has been named for India’s ‘Emerging Account’ for growing his fanbase on Instagram significantly throughout 2017.

The first three episodes of Amazon Prime India Original’s The Remix is out. The platform has successfully delivered remixed versions of Bollywood songs. The Remix has already grabbed eyes of big music companies.

The first three episodes saw the contestants jazzing up songs like O o Jaane Jaana, Sheila Ki Jawani, Love Dose, Main Lovely Ho Gayiaan, Senorita, and others. The news is that music companies have approached to cut an album from songs performed on the show.

Amazon Prime Video has brought a unique concept with The Remix as it brings together DJ’s and singers on the same platform performing and recreating iconic songs. The reality show has given people a platform to showcase them their talent in a unique way.

The format is already popular in abroad and Amazon has got the concept here in India. The Remix has brought few celebrated names from various fields together to get the digital content one notch higher.

Amit Trivedi, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Nucleya are the judges of the show, while Television actor, Karan Tacker hosts the show on the digital platform.

We Appreciate Jacqueline's Attempt To Recreate The Iconic 'Ek Do Teen' But She's No Madhuri

After treating us with a 25-second teaser, the makers of ‘Baaghi 2’ have finally released the full video track of ‘Ek Do Teen’. The small clip did manage to get our expectations high for a while back then, but now that the complete song is out, we have mixed feelings.

In a bid to recreate the iconic song that ruled the charts for weeks and months back in the 1980s, Jacqueline Fernandez stepped into Madhuri Dixit’s shoes looking her hottest best. But did she achieve what Madhuri did?

There is no doubt that Jacqueline’s sexy moves and sultry hotness will make this song the flavor of the season. But it’s not enough. Especially for kids who grew up watching and dancing to Madhuri’s songs, this remixed version of ‘Ek Do Teen’, is all glossy and colorful but lacks the very essence of the original one.

Jacqueline does her best as the modern day Mohini but the video completely fails to replicate the old magic. But then again, we can’t really blame Jacqueline as it is the legendary Madhuri Dixit she is being compared to.

Madhuri was the epitome of sexiness and she had the ability to make hearts race faster the second she appeared on the screen. From her smile to her ‘latkas’ and ‘jhatkas’, she was simply a dream to watch on the silver screen.

Jacqueline is fabulous, and we are sure that people are going to love her sizzling avatar, but there will be many who will wish that this song wasn’t experimented with in the first place.

And the basic reason is that you can’t match up to Madhuri. You can’t replicate her and honestly, you can’t even try to recreate what originally belonged to her. It’s simple, there is just one Madhuri Dixit!

Blame us for being biased, but you can’t argue with the simple fact that Madhuri was extraordinary!

The song was originally choreographed by Saroj Khan and now has been redesigned by Ganesh Acharya. However, we do appreciate the new steps and the modern touch added to the evergreen chartbuster, but some pieces are iconic and Bollywood needs to understand that. How about some originality from our tinsel town makers?

The new version of the song has been created for ‘Baaghi 2’. This is the second installment of the ‘Baaghi’ franchise starring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. The film is all set to hit the theatres on March 30.

After months of searching, makers have finally found their Hazel for the Hindi adaptation of Josh Boone’s 2014 Hollywood romantic drama, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’.

Sanjana Sanghi who has worked previously in ‘Hindi Medium’, ‘Rockstar’, and ‘Fukrey Returns’, is all set to make her big break.

Last year, we told you that Sushant Singh Rajput was roped in for the project and will be seen stepping into Ansel Elgort’s role. And now the makers have roped in 21-year-old Sanjana, who will be seen with Sushant.

This is a big break for Sanjana, and along with her, famous casting director Mukesh Chhabra will be making his directorial debut.

“I met Sanjana while casting for ‘Rockstar’ and found her to be a dynamic girl with great energy. After a few years, she reconnected for a few ad jobs and this time she came across as a mature young lady and to my surprise, a fabulous actor. I knew instantly that I would love to make a film with her one day,” Mukesh told the Mumbai Mirror.

Apparently, Sanjana caught their eyes during the auditions and they just knew that she was the perfect pick as the leading lady and no one could have done it better.

Based on the bestselling book by John Green, the film revolves around Hazel Grace Lancaster, a 16-year-old cancer patient who is pressured by her folks to attend a support group, where she meets Augustus Waters, another cancer patient who lost his leg due to bone cancer and both fall in love.

Though the film is a remake of the hit Hollywood movie, it will be adapted as per Indian sensibilities.

Well, remaking movies is Bollywood’s trend and it would be interesting to see how this narrative comes to life and if it will be loved by the viewers as much as the original one.

We are not very sure if Sushant is the right pick as Augustus, but you never really know he might just surprise you with his performance on-screen.

Giving the writer in him a break, lyricist Swanand Kirkire will feature on the soundtrack of Sudhir Mishra’s Daas Dev as a singer. He has lent his voice to Aazad Kar, which has been penned by a new lyricist, Gaurav Solanki. “The song speaks of liberation at many levels. It’s about liberating oneself from various compulsions that we create and then get buried under,” says Kirkire.

Ask him how he resisted from interfering in the songwriting process, and Kirkire says he knows how to switch between roles. “I’ve learnt that you are a different person as a lyricist than what you are as a singer. You have to respect other people’s work. This song was perfectly written and composed.”

Over 15 years and two National Awards later, Swanand Kirkire feels that writers are increasingly gaining prominence in the industry. “Earlier, writers wouldn’t get the kind of credit they deserved. But the situation is getting better. With the Internet opening up as a new medium, there is a lot of scope for good work to get recognised.
