The youngster gushes, “It was overwhelming shooting with Sunny sir. He is so sophisticated.” The fan girl had her moment.

Meanwhile, Sunny Deol’s Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se, the third instalment of the Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise, is nearing completion. Veteran actor Dharmendra shared a photograph of himself on Twitter recently and captioned it: “Aapse jude haseen khwaabon ka mere, silsila ye… yun-hi chalta rahe! Yun-hi chalta rahe! Nearing completion… on set ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se’.”

The film also features Bobby Deol and Kriti Kharbanda.

Thrissur-based Priya, who learns music and dance, is making her acting debut with the Malayalam film “Oru Adaar Love”. She got noticed when via a short clip from the film’s song “Manikya malaraya”, and it went viral.

In the clip, Priya is seen giving a wink and smiling while flirting with a boy. It is the mischief, innocence and simplicity in the shots that have touched the right chords with viewers. In another teaser for the film, which is releasing next month, she is seen giving a naughty flying kiss.

Referred as India’s ‘One Direction’, Sanam Band, a four-member Indian pop-rock band has had their own sweet and sour stories before they could finally ‘arrive’. The band achieved recognition for their cover renditions and originals that are often hinged on love. And taking that lovable magic ahead, they will be ushering the month of February on MTV Beats through a series of the specially curated show. Talking more about their foray into television and how to celebrate the month of love, members – Sanam Puri, Samar Puri, Venkat Subramaniam and Keshav Dhanraj get chatty with mid-day online.

Excerpts from the interview:

How does it feel to have your own show on a youth-oriented channel? How did this association take place? 

Venkat S – It’s amazing! MTV Beats is a fun, young and a vibrant brand with loads of fun, excitement which resonates with our band as well. The association was made through our management at KNC Talent who’s always trying to put us out there and helps us make strategic partnerships. Being associated with MTV Beats is special for all of us as we’ve all grown up watching MTV! Viewers will see all of us this February on Dil Beats – a specially curated show which revolves around love, romance and everything mush. It was premiered on Valentine’s Day. Romance as a genre has been evergreen which is loved by all age groups. Collaborating with MTV Beats for the month of love has been one of the most exciting projects so far and we’re confident that the viewers are going to love it as well.

Tell us about the show. 

Sanam Puri – It’s a show where we present the 12 stages of love through music – so we’ve shot 12 episodes worth of fun content that you should watch. So tune into MTV Beats and you can watch us every Wednesday 10.00 AM, 4.00 PM and 8.00 PM

How did the whole idea of recreating old songs stem up and how did ‘Fab Four’ was born? 

Keshav Dhanraj – We’ve always been fascinated by the melodies and lyrics in the classics. Indian film music has a diverse collection of tunes and we wanted to learn and render these songs in our own style so that today’s generation of youth can revisit the songs we love along with us.

With what motive did you’ll start the band? Did you ever think that it will be amongst India’s top 10 YouTube channels? 

Sanam Puri – We are friends first – Venky (an old classmate/bandmate from Indian School Muscat) connected Sanam and me to Keshav – we had moved to Mumbai in the same year – about 2010. We hit it off well at his garage and have been close friends ever since. The road has been bumpy but my philosophy is to always stay positive and have fun doing what you’re doing. We didn’t achieve success on YouTube overnight, it took us a while and we cherish each and every step along the way.

Tell us something about your experience working with AR Rahman for ‘Jammin’? 

Venkat S – We worked on a song called ‘YAARA’ which included all the artists who were a part of the project ‘Jammin’ – a musical collaboration between  YouTube music content creators and Bollywood composers. AR Rahman had composed a beautiful love song called ‘Thalli Pogathey’ in 2016 – it’s amazing how he transformed this into an inspirational song and got so many of us to be part of it.

From YouTube to working with Oscar-winning musician and now Television, how do you see the entire journey going? 

Keshav Dhanraj – It’s very important to try and reach out to as many people as possible. So we want to appear in all possible mediums where entertainment is viewed or consumed.

What kind of a bond do you’ll share with each other? 

Sanam Puri – We are friends first; we hang out with each other all the time since we are neighbours. We play video games, work out together and hang out – I like to eat some amazing vegan meals when I go out with them.

How do you process the feeling of having so many female fan-following? 

Samar Puri – It’s an overwhelming feeling of thankfulness and we’re grateful for all the love being showered upon us. Like I say, we’re just having fun.

Any incident where a fan has outdone herself to express her feelings for any of you? 

Venkat S – I have a funny incident where one woman asked me to take off my glasses I was wearing on stage because she couldn’t see my eyes. I left the glasses on the amp, and towards the end of the show she whacked off my glasses and bounced from the gig.

With women’s day around the corner, a message that you would want to give to them? 

The four of us in the band ‘Sanam’ love you beautiful women; we couldn’t be here without you’ll. This show is specially done for you’ll.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma on Saturday appeared before Hyderabad police in connection with a case of obscenity booked against him for his movie “God, Sex and Truth”, and also for allegedly insulting the modesty of a woman. The filmmaker, whose controversial movie with American porn star Mia Malkova was released on internet last month, appeared before the officials of Central Crime Station (CCS) in response to the notice served on him. The police officials questioned him about the allegations made against him by women activists.

On January 25, a day before the release of the movie, Varma was booked by the CCS. A case under section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 was booked against him for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form. The filmmaker was also booked under sections 506 and 509 of Indian Penal Code for allegedly making personal comments against women activists during the debate on the movie on some television channels. When activists accused him of promoting obscenity, Varma allegedly offered to make similar movies with them. He has been charged with insulting the modesty of a woman.

The CCS this week issued fresh notice on Varma as he could not appear before the officials earlier. Women’s organizations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh had staged protest last month demanding ban on the release of the movie on web and Varma’s immediate arrest. The activists alleged that Varma released the movie on web to avoid the certification by authorities. They said the filmmaker is portraying woman as a sex object and promoting pornography.

Having completed the shoot of a romantic number for Race 3 in Bangkok, Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez will now switch gears to action mode. mid-day has it that director Remo D’Souza has allotted the next 10 days for the shoot of a high-octane chase sequence that forms the climax of the thriller. While action is home turf for the superstar, Fernandez has been specially training for it over the past four months.

“The past week saw us filming at the Floating Market and Rose Garden in Bangkok. Next week, we will shift to the jungles of Kanchanaburi province to can the action sequence, which sees Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez running through the dense shrubs as they are chased by the villains,” says a source from the Ramesh Taurani production. Choreographed by action director Anal Arasu, the stunts will involve kickboxing and hand-to-hand combat. Considering Khan had shot for Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) prior to this, his expertise in action was not a concern, unlike Fernandez, who is relatively new to the genre.

Aware that a film like Race 3 would demand higher endurance level and more agility, Fernandez began working out under fitness trainer Namrata Purohit’s guidance as soon as she signed the project. Besides training in Mixed Martial Arts which includes Jiu Jitsu, boxing, kickboxing and Thai boxing, she also took up Electric Muscle Stimulation (EMS) sessions. Reveals a source close to the actor, “EMS sessions help maximise your muscular effort by engaging a greater percentage of muscle fibres. That’s how Jackie is at her fittest today.” Confirming the story, D’Souza said, “We are shooting an extensive action sequence in the virgin jungles of Thailand.”

After the recreation of the romantic ballad ‘Sanu Ik Pal’, the makers of ‘Raid’ have now recreated another chart-topping melody of late Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Titled ‘Nit Khair Manga’, the track has been recreated in parts by lyricist Manoj Muntashir and sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s singer-nephew, Rahat.

“The song has been picturised on Ajay Devgn, who plays an upright and no-nonsense income tax officer and Ileana D’cruz, who will be seen in the role of his supportive and brave wife. The song offers a glimpse into the onscreen couple’s life and the love, care and warmth they share in the film. It’s shot across Lucknow including landmark locations such as Hussainabad Clock Tower, Rumi Darwaza, Bada Imambada, Kudiya Ghat and Residency”, said director Rajkumar Gupta.

Composer Tanishk Bagchi, who has recreated the song, said, “When you hear it, you’ll understand that not just the hook line, the entire song is new. But I also wanted to retain the original’s essence. The good part about Rahat sir’s singing is that he understands the feel of a song which always helps. Nit Khair is a powerful romantic number.”

Gulshan Kumar & Tseries present, A Panorama Studios Production, Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, Raid is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. The film releases on 16th March 2018.

Asked about a negative thing she feels she has in her personality, Disha said, “I am socially super awkward but I can fake it well.”

Daniel Craig, who has played secret agent James Bond in four films, will sell his personal Aston Martin numbered 007, at a Christie’s auction in April. “The bespoke, midnight-blue 2014 Centenary Edition Vanquish – numbered 007 – will be offered on 20 April in New York. Sale proceeds will benefit The Opportunity Network, which helps young people with career development,” the auction house said in a statement, reported Efe.

The automobile, worth an estimated $400,000 to $600,000, is being sold under Christie’s The Exceptional Sale, described by the auction house as “a highly selective, tightly curated auction of decorative arts masterpieces and significant cultural icons”.

“This Aston Martin Vanquish is a tour de force of automobile engineering and a distinct pleasure to drive,” Craig said.

“While I will miss it, I am keen to further the very important work of The Opportunity Network with its sale,” he added.

Craig, 49, worked with Aston Martin’s design chief to customise his personal vehicle.

The actor had made his debut as Agent 007 in “Casino Royale” (2006) and also played the character created by Ian Fleming in “Quantum of Solace” (2008), “Skyfall” (2012) and “Spectre” (2015).

Last August, Craig ended months of speculation over who would star in the next film in the James Bond series, confirming he would return as Agent 007 in the next, yet-untitled instalment.
