A woman behind Ranveer’s success

Mumbai, July 16: Behind every successful man there is a woman, they say and it stands quite true for actor Ranveer Singh as well.

The 28-year-old who is three-film-old in the industry and has four big films in his kitty, names none other than his manager for his success.

“She is responsible for my success. She is my boss. I wake up in the morning as per her direction and do whatever she says. Her name is Susaine Rodriguez. She is the woman behind everything,” said the actor at the success party of his recent release “Lootera”.

Post “Lootera”, the Vikramaditya Motwane directed period drama, the actor will be seen in forthcoming films like “Gunday” and “Ram Leela”.

TV is easiest, quickest way to reach audience: Imran Khan

Actor Imran Khan took to the TV show ‘Punar Vivah’ to promote his upcoming film ‘Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara!’. He believes television is the easiest way to reach the audience

“The TV audience in this country is so huge that whatever it is you want to promote, a film or a product, you have to reach out to the TV audience. It is the best, easiest and the quickest way,” the 30-year-old said.

Imran is open to follow the footsteps of his uncle and superstar Aamir Khan by becoming part of a TV show, provided he gets something interesting.

“Till now I have not got any exciting offers. But if I do get something, then I would love to do a TV show,” Imran said.

Aamir made his small screen debut with TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’, which gave out shocking facts and figures associated with social issues.

Actress Maria Paul’s friend nabbed in Rs.19 crore fraud

New Delhi, July 5: A 22-year-old live-in-partner of South Indian actress Leena Maria Paul was arrested in a Rs.19 crore cheating case, police said Friday.

Sukash Chander Shekhar alias Shekhar Reddy of Bangalore in Karnataka was arrested from a mall in Kolkata, according to police.

Maria Paul has acted in a handful of movies such as “Madras Cafe” and “Red Chillies”. She was arrested May 27 with four bouncers in Delhi by officials of Delhi Police and Chennai police. Shekhar had then escaped.

“Two diamond rings worth Rs.75 lakh and a diamond earring worth Rs.12 lakh were recovered from him,” said a police officer.

Nine luxury cars and four weapons were recovered when Maria Paul was arrested from a rented farmhouse in south Delhi where she was living with Shekhar.

Shekhar was on the run, visiting Jaipur, Mumbai, Goa, Kolkata and Siliguri in West Bengal. He said he was involved in a number of cheating cases registered in Chennai and Bangalore.

“He allegedly posed as an IAS officer. He and Maria Paul approached Canara Bank in Chennai seeking a Rs.19-crore loan for a project. They disappeared after getting the loan. They bought cars worth Rs.7 crore and jewellery worth Rs.1 crore,” said a police officer.

Shekhar was studying MBA at a Bangalore institute.
