Today is a special day for Salman Khan and his fans. And no, that isn’t because his film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ is hitting the theatres. The Dabangg star is in for some other good…no wait, some excellent news.
For the second time in a row, Salman has taken the top spot in the Forbes list of top 100 Indian celebrities. What’s more is that he has defeated the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan yet again which we believe isn’t an easy task.
The 2017 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List rankings are based on estimates of entertainment-related earnings of celebrities. The period under consideration is October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017. The methodology for calculating the ranking have changed this year as the “fame” quotient is being excluded but the list’s top three names have remained constant.
While SRK is second, everyone’s favorite cricketer and the newly-married Virat Kohli is at the third position.
Salman earned a mind-boggling figure this year- Rs 232.83 crore, thanks to his endorsements and films. His earnings constitute 8.67% of the total earnings — Rs 2,683 crores — of the top 100 celebrities for the year.
On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan has retained the second position with Rs 170.5 crore while Virat Kohli earned Rs 100.72 crore.
Following Virat we have Akshay Kumar at the fourth position with earnings of Rs 98.25 crores.
And on fifth we have the legendary Sachin Tendulkar with earnings of Rs 82.50 crores.
The top 10 list consists only men with just one exception. It’s our very own desi girl Priyanka Chopra, the only woman who has managed to be a part of the top 10 of this list with an earning of Rs 68 crores.
Well it’s safe to say that this year has been amazing for Salman Khan and we are pretty sure that ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ is only going to add to his already whopping earnings.
