Instead of five, Bollywood actress and former Miss World Priyanka Chopra performed for 10 minutes at an awards gala, with B-Town bigwigs in attendance

The crème de la crème of B-Town turned up at the 25th Zee Cine Awards last night. While Katrina Kaif, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez staged impressive performances, the highlight was Priyanka Chopra’s act. On December 15, mid-day had reported that the Quantico actor would have a five-minute sequence at the awards gala, for which she had reportedly charged R5 crore (a crore per minute). But the actor performed for about 10 minutes last night. She started off with an aerial set and danced to her hit film songs.

Though Kaif performed for six minutes, her moves on Swag Se Swagat and Kaala Chashma were power packed. Shahid Kapoor impressed with an uptempo act. He grooved to the title track of Udta Punjab (2016). Fernandez, who showcases her pole dancing skills on social media, started her act with pole dance. Ranveer Singh concluded the do with his electric performance. He danced to remixed versions of yesteryear classics.

Almost everyone who attended the event walked away with a trophy. While Varun Dhawan and Sridevi bagged the Best Actor and Actress trophies, Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan won special honours. Chopra was presented the Global Icon Extraordinaire trophy by her Dil Dhadakne Do co-star, Anil Kapoor. Ranveer Singh, who played PeeCee’s brother in the film, joined the duo on stage, as they broke into an impromptu jig on the hit, Gallan Goodiyaan. Shah Rukh Khan was presented an award for completing 25 years in the film industry.

The only disappointment was the hosts for the eveningâÂ?Â?– Rohit Shetty, Bhumi Pednekar and Sunil Grover. Thanks to a badly written script, the hosting was drab.
