While some of us were busy unwrapping gifts on Monday, Marvel played Santa and packed the best possible surprise for the rest of us who weren’t expecting much (or didn’t get anything) this Christmas. Ahead of its release, over a month and a half to be precise, Marvel rolled out a short teaser of ‘Black Panther’. As if we weren’t getting desperate and impatient already while waiting for its release, Marvel Studios is making the wait harder by taking our excitement to a pinnacle with a constant number of teasers and trailers.

‘Black Panther’ is undoubtedly going to be THE most anticipated film to give 2018 the much need push to make a bang on entry. The trailer, which came out in October, has already skyrocketed our expectations and excitement, and this teaser totally lives up to its reputation of being brilliant.

Set in the fictional world of Wakanda, ‘Black Panther’ focuses on the journey of T’Challa (played by Chadwick Boseman), who became king after his father’s assassination in ‘Captain America: Civil War’.

If you are under the impression that this TV spot is going to be another video that will either be a compilation of clips from previous trailers, sorry to burst the bubble for you guys. This video teases us with glimpse of T’Challa with his bodyguard/ love interest Nakia (played by Lupita Nyong’o), and has shots of Erik Killmonger (played by Michael B. Jordan) yelling “I am gonna burn it all” with all his savagery and badassery intact. Honestly, this is where things heat up as we start craving for more of the two.

Although this action-packed teaser was only 30-seconds short, we have no complaints. Because like they say “good things come in small packages”; so we are going to play and replay this ‘King’ TV spot and relish this marvel-ous gift we could have ever asked for.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, ‘Black Panther’ will hit theatres on February 16, 2018 ahead of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. ‘Black Panther’ also stars Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Andy Serkis and Forest Whitaker.

After watching this teaser, we guess it’s safe to say that 2018 is going to be ruled by Marvel Studios (we are hopeful that at least the first half will).
