Virtual reality is certainly a fearsome thing to behold, and by now the entire planet is convinced that anything crazy can happen over the Internet. However, the web world is still a bit less complex and insane when we compare it to popular Netflix sci-fi series ‘Stranger Things’. Well, this show doesn’t need any introduction because everyone has been talking about it. With two seasons already out, this show has garnered quite a massive following.

The universe of ‘Stranger Things’ is beyond one’s imagination, but what if we could club this sci-fi world with our online world? Wouldn’t the results be pretty interesting?

While Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Eleven are having an interesting time in the 80’s, the team at Plusnet decided to get creative and re-imagined their world in the time of the Internet.

And we’ve got to admit, the results are beyond hilarious.

Setting up a Dungeons and Dragons session would just have been so damn easy. Squad WhatsApp!

Definitely, Eleven would love Facebook and would even start a petition online against those lab experiments. I bet we all have a friend like her in our group.

Plus everyone will just know where she is…so everyone gets what they want. Life is EASY!

Searching for Barbara would definitely be easier and the range would be wider. Cheers to the power of Social Media.

A concerned Nancy would totally start an online movement on Twitter, or at least we can imagine her drunk tweeting.

TBH, Dustin would have a huge fan following on Snapchat. Ain’t he already looking so cute with that filter?

Dustin would just be all over the Internet, updating us about his life!

And Joyce would do everything to keep a tab on Will. Well, we don’t really blame her as Will has a habit to wander here and there and worry people.

Steve definitely would have been a social media influencer.

And finally finding an answer to what is a mind flayer, why this is happening and so many more questions, Google would have answered it all!

Agreed that this was fun. But somewhere we still feel that the reason why ‘Stranger Things’ works perfectly is that, at the time, people were more connected physically and life didn’t revolve around the Internet. Somehow, it reminds us of our golden childhood, when we loved exploring with our friends and playing board games.

However, do let us know that if ‘Stranger Things’ had Internet, how would your favourite character use the web and who would have the most followers?

You know what comes with a successful TV show? A plethora of theories that try to mesh different worlds and make a wonderful tale from it. ‘Stranger Things 2’ is no different. It’s been less than a week that it made its debut and theories have begun swirling all around.

This one theory suggests that there might be a relation between this sci-fi show and Stephen King’s ‘It’. Obviously, SPOILERS lie ahead.

If you have already passed watching the first two episodes from the second season, then you already know who Bob is (Winona Ryder’s onscreen love interest). So in the first episode, he mentions how he hates horror movies. Later, in episode 2 titled ‘Trick or Treat’, he mentions how his family lives in Maine and he explains Will how as a kid, he was terrorised by a clown but thought it was a recurring nightmare.

So the theory suggests that Bob is actually one of the surviving kids from the terror of Pennywise in ‘It’. The fact that Pennywise sprung in the city of Maine where Bob hails from, is actually making the whole theory more concrete. The Duffer Brothers, who are the brains behind ‘Stranger Things’, are actually pretty much fascinated and heavily inspired by Stephen King so it is not very surprising actually.

The season of ‘Stranger Things 2’ has received a huge thumbs up from fans and is pretty intense as well. The show stars Millie Brown as the fierce Eleven, Winona Ryder as Will’s (Noah Schnapp) mother, and David Harbour as Jim Hopper. ‘Stranger Things’ is based in the town of Hawkins, during the 1980’s. There is a real world and then there is the ‘upside down’. The science fiction drama series is probably one of the highest ranked shows and also clearly one of the most famous Netflix originals out there.

If you love both the TV show and the movie in equal parts and Stephen King is your kind of writer, then bask in this new found theory.

So the second season of the cult Netflix original ‘Stranger Things’ was bestowed upon us by the Duffer Brothers and it doesn’t matter if you believe in celebrating Halloween or not, you’ve got to thank them for this amazing gift!

If you are a true fan like me, then chances are either you have already binge watched the season over Saturday night or like your calories, you are counting episodes and trying hard to extend it over this week at least. For your hungry eyes, here’s a list of six shows that match the vibe of our beloved ‘Stranger Things’ :

1. ‘The OA’- It is like a treasure found in a coal mine. Very less publicity, brilliant concept and even after one year of dropping this drug on our minds, Netflix continues teasing us about the second season. Prairie comes back home after years with an intriguing tale about her absence. Just like ‘Stranger Things’, there’s a group of school kids who join her quest.

2. ‘Fringe’- This JJ Abraham sci-fi series follows FBI agents from the fictional fringe division who use fringe science to investigate unexplained, perplexed happenings around them. Good thing is that the show spans five seasons and over 100 episodes, so binge away my friend!

3. ‘Misfits’- The characters of this show are based in London who suddenly have superpowers embedded in them after a storm hits the city. It’s a combination of sci-fi, supernatural sprinkled with dark comedy and action.

4. ‘Freaks And Geeks’ – For starters, this show has been listed under the ‘100 greatest shows of all time’ by the TIME magazine. ‘Stranger Things’ has a star cast of stellar kids who are geeks and freaks to others at the same time. This show is enjoyed best if you fell for the fuzzy 80’s vibe from ST, no sci- fi in this one though. Still worth a watch.

5. ‘Black Mirror’ – This one is pretty famous and chances are most people have watched at least one episode. This anthology series created by Charlie Brooker is pretty intriguing and plays with your psyche. The best part is that all episodes are stand alone so you don’t always have to pick up from where you left. The ‘black mirror’ signifies the dark undertone of the hazard that the technology on our screens pose today.

6. ‘Twin Peaks’- This American mystery, horror, drama is dated from the year of 1990.  This cult show revolves around one major question- who killed Laura Palmer? The show is headed by FBI agent Dale Cooper who is looking into the murder of Laura in the mysterious town of Twin Peaks. Pretty similar to the investigative vibes of Jim Hopper.

A tub of popcorn, some pizza, a good sound system and you are ready to go!

We wait for Christmas, we wait for Diwali. Little did I know we’d start waiting for Halloween as well, because, ‘Stranger Things’ is coming back! If you are a fan, then you are a part of the club obviously. The trailer has dropped and our minds are already busy contemplating so many questions.

Besides our excitement meter shooting high, one question that has been hovering over like a helicopter is how the hell does our favourite character Eleven come back to life. The MCM Comic Con aired a small clip which basically answers one major question. How does Eleven find her way back home into the real world?

She punches her way back through the wall with a lot of drama that is simultaneously unloading itself around her. Will Byers is back but is clearly not the same boy who left as he still suffers from the consequences of his tryst with the ‘other side’ even though the doctors say ‘it’s all in his head’. We still need to know what happens to poor Barb! Winona Ryder is wonderful as the hysterical mom as usual.

The entire town is now aware of the darkness that hangs over their heads but like them, even we are clueless about what the future holds.  The plot is offcourse mind boggling, all thanks to amazing work by the writers. Talking about the brilliance of storytelling, let’s take out a minute to bestow some serious appreciation on the crazy soundtrack that this show has.

Even before the second season airs, the show has been renewed for another season. Well, as a fan, I am the last one to complain about it.

‘Stranger Things’, a show that tells the story of a group of Dungeons & Dragons-loving preteen friends in 1980s Hawkins, Indiana, who stumble upon a disturbing government conspiracy in their own town, was kind of a surprise hit when it came out in July 2016. Even though the first season consisted of just eight episodes, the Netflix Original series managed to develop a huge cult following.

But, it has been more than a year since we’ve seen the gang, and waiting for the second season has been getting unbearable. With the release date getting closer and closer, Netflix has decided to gift us another trailer to get us even more excited for the next instalment. The trailer came out yesterday, appropriately on Friday the 13th.

The first season followed Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson and Lucas Sinclair go in search of their missing friend Will Byers. Will has been taken to the Upside Down, which is sort of an alternate reality where everything is the same, yet different. Although the place appears to resemble the real world, it is grey and lifeless. Moreover, it is inhabited by what the boys call the ‘Demogorgon’ — a monster that feeds on people. Though he is rescued successfully, everything is far from alright, with the season ending on a giant cliff-hanger.

The second season will be set a year after the events of the first one, showing the repercussions of Will’s stint in the Upside Down. The trailer kicks off with Eleven retrieving the waffles that Hopper left for her in the woods. They’ve also showed that Will is still quite messed up from his time in the Upside Down and keeps having flashbacks. We also get glimpses of the gigantic shadow monster that has appeared in other trailers.

The monsters are getting bigger, the kids are getting more intense, and Joyce is more frantic than ever. “These are not nightmares,” Hopper tells Joyce. “It’s happening. And it all leads back to here.”

All the episodes of season 2 will be released on Netflix on October 27.

Here’s the final trailer before the season debuts.

Friday and 13th- a day and date which when combined can scare the hell out of anyone and everyone. And if you look at your calendar right now, you’d realize that today is unfortunately the unlucky day.  To make it worse (or better) 20th Century Fox is here with the long awaited trailer of the X-Men spinoff, ‘The New Mutants’.

First things first, it isn’t as vivid and flashy like a superhero movie. In fact, it’s creepy and horrifying and dark and all things one associates with a classic horror movie. Based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, it is intended to be the eleventh installment in the X-Men film series.

While the Marvel’s comics were about a younger generation of ‘gifted’ students coming together at a school for the first time, the film is set largely in an eerie asylum where young mutants are kept in cells and observed for study.

Bottom line being, it takes the X-Men universe within the four walls of a dark hollow hospital setting.

The cast of the film is nothing short of exciting as it stars some of the most talented young actors of Hollywood. The film follows five mutants – Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Anya Taylor-Joy (Split), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why), and Blu Hunt (The Originals) who are held in a secret facility against their will as they are considered “dangerous”, try to fight their way out.

The film is directed by the ‘The Fault in Our Stars ‘director, Josh Boone. In an interview, he said, “We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe. There are no costumes. There are no super villains. We’re trying to do something very, very different.”

He took to his Instagram to tease the audience about the arrival of the trailer today.

And it does look very, very different.

The trailer kind of gave away a ‘Stranger Things’ vibe, only scarier. It doesn’t provide with too many details but all that is shown is enough to leave you unsettled.

It opens with a voice over from Dr. Cecilia Reyes (Alice Braga,) interviewing a new subject. Reyes asks the child if she has ever hurt someone and if she has ever experienced anything “abnormal”. The shot cuts to Reyes sitting in front of an array of monitors, calmly watching other children located throughout the facility.

The film is set to hit the theatres on April 13, 2018 which of course, is a Friday.

Our favourite mini version of ‘Ghostbusters’, the little kids with intriguing brains are back, the nights full of terror are back and the creatures are calling out louder than ever before.

The new trailer for ‘Stranger Things 2′ just dropped and boy is it good! It’s like that song ‘Thriller’ just came to life and it so well executed that I wish the series was released like, yesterday only. Will is back to seeing ‘things’, and dwindles between the real world and the ‘other side’.

Also Eleven is coming back (obviously).

Did I mention that the background score is fantastic? Yes it is pretty intriguing. The trailer is living up to the hype and if you are a fan of this series, you sure can’t wait.

The season is reviving this Halloween and what better way to say ‘trick or treat’.
