Looks like after ‘Rangoon’, Vishal Bhardwaj is all set to bring something new to the silver screen. Before we tell you about the project, let us tell you this time Vishal is all set to bring an unusual Jodi on-screen.

The leading man of Vishal’s upcoming film will be Nawazuddin Siddiqui and he will be seen romancing ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ actress Kriti Sanon.

The film will be made under his banner. However, Vishal will be giving a newcomer the opportunity to direct this film, as reported by SpotboyE.

Looking at the cast he has picked, we can surely say that he is all set to experiment and bring something new to the audience.

Vishal’s last film ‘Rangoon’ tanked at the box office and hence giving a new director a chance definitely looks like a wise idea.

“Rangoon, Vishal Bhardwaj’s new film, is his loudest and largest, a period drama that blasts off with an impressive, immersive war sequence that wouldn’t be out of place in something by Christopher Nolan.” – #RajaSen Read on #Rediff now – (Link in bio) #KanganaRanaut @shahidkapoor #SaifAliKhan #VishalBhardwaj #SajidNadiadwala @rekha_bhardwaj @viacom18motionpictures @nadiadwalagrandson @tseries.official @wardakhannadiadwala

Nawaz is indeed a great actor and with every film, he moves us. From being an antagonist, supporting actor to wearing a protagonist’s hat, he has proved that he can get into the shoes of any character. His presence is so strong that he can sideline any A-lister sharing screen space with him.

On the other hand, Kriti has just a few films but has made her place in B-town. Her latest film ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ was loved by the viewers.

And now that she is all set to play Nawaz’s leading lady, we are quite excited about the project.

Apparently, the film will be a comedy and it looks like this pair will totally take us on a laughter ride. The official announcement is yet to be made and we look forward to know more about the project.

Meanwhile, both the actors are busy working on their projects. Nawaz was last seen in ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ and will be next seen in ‘Carbon’.

Let’s see if this pair will be able to cast their spell on the viewers. Till then, tell us about do you think about this pairing.

The future is dark and full of terrors. While Hindi cinema is yet to have a compelling sci-fi movie that depicts the dark tale of what lies in the future, we have to give it to ‘Carbon’ for making an impressive attempt. Directed by Maitrey Bajpai and Ramiz Ilhan Khan, the movie tries to depict what life without oxygen would look like in 2067, and stars Jacky Bhagnani, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Prachi Desai.

Jacky and Nawaz play the characters of oxygen smugglers in the movie and while the script looks brilliant in the beginning, its gets lazy by the end. Jacky is a man with an artificial heart who is supplying oxygen in exchange for money, wants to move to Mars where people are living in 2067. The Earth is now full of carbon and people wear oxygen masks to survive.

Nawazuddin plays another smuggler who is on the Earth to buy Himalayan oxygen. Also, Prachi Desai is a computerised ‘refugee’ who was bought online.

The movie tells the dark tale of how life could turn in 2067 if we deplete all our resources here. I’ll give full marks for the attempt.

Great concept, well executed and decent acting.

Bollywood is a land of success stories which have an equally filmy back story. Thousand dreams ar shattered while millions are decorated. One such wonderful tale of success belongs to Nawazuddin Siddiqui as well.

The man who defied norms that looks were every thing , forced people to take notice of his insane talent that can change the fate of any movie. The star is currently making waves for his next movie ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ and the trailer obviously looks promising.

At a recent media event in Noida, Nawazuddin shared a slice of his past which not many know about. You might not know about it but do you know that he worked as a security guard at a toy factory in Noida, way before he even stepped foot in Mumbai? “Noida was where I got my first job as a security guard posted outside a toy factory. I had come from Muzaffarnagar before 1993. The owner of the toy factory on multiple occasions had caught me dozing off or relaxing outside the factory gate and reprimanded me for it. Soon, I left the job”.

She created a stir when she walked out of Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer “Babumoshai Bandookbaaz” but actress Chitrangda Singh wishes the team all the best, but refused to divulge what issues she had with Director Kushan Nandy.

“I wish them all the best. Whatever issues we had, I had with Kushan (Nandy) and it should be between us. I don’t think we should be talking about them,” Chitrangada told IANS on the sidelines of Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 where she walked for designer Neha Agarwal.

Chitrangda walked out of the film citing discomfort shooting intimate scenes with co-star Nawazuddin but Nandy said the bone of contention was with regard to the script. Model-turned-actress Bidita Bag later replaced her in the film.

The actress started her career being part of parallel cinema with films like “Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi” and “Yeh Saali Zindagi”, but later stepped into the commercial mainstream with films like “Desi Boyz” and “I, Me aur Main”.

About how she selects her roles, Chitrangada told IANS: “I think the story needs to be good and the character has to be right. Sometimes I am offered lots of stuff which is women empowerment things but just illogical.

“The idea behind strong characters is not about being a superwoman, it’s still about being rebellious in a lot of ways. I like these parts which are grey, right and wrong. It’s not intentional, not being conventional. You see films like ‘Simran’, its superb…

“Everything that sells or works is commercial so there is nothing intentional about not doing certain roles.”

So is she going to do films that depict women as sufferers and then finishing as winners?

“Absolutely, why not. Films are reflections of what’s happening in the society, right?. You make films about them. I would love to be part of that if the character is written well. There is no such thing that I don’t want to do,” said Chitranagada.

barfani-song-aThe Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer film ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’, has already become the most talked about film mainly because of the intimate scenes. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bidita Bag will be seen sharing several intimate moments in the film and that had invited the wrath of ex-CBFC chief, Pahlaj Nihalani. The makers had appealed to the FCAT and the has been cleared by the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) with ‘eight minor, voluntary cuts’.

Since the film got attention because of the racy nature of its trailer and songs, actress Bidita Bag spoke at lenght about the ‘love making scenes’ in the film. In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, Bidita Bag says, “Phulwa, my character in the film is very unusual. The first two takes were looking very innocent, cute and lovey-dovey. The character’s boldness, the rawness, her overpowering personality and her passion was not showing. So I insisted on retakes to bring about that rawness. Also, I was cast opposite Nawazuddin, a perfectionist. While kissing for the camera, two people shouldn’t merely be rubbing at each other’s lips. A kiss should be true to the characters they are playing.”

Despite this being her first film with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the actress had no apprehension or qualms about performing intimate scenes before the camera. Bidita has often mentioned that Nawazuddin comforted her and their chemistry stems from there. Chitrangda Singh, who was formerly signed for the thriller, had already shot for the intimate scenes earlier. As she is no longer a part of the film, Nawazuddin had to re-shoot for the scenes with Bidita. Now that The Tribunal has passed the film without cuts, the intimate scenes can be seen in theatres.

Produced by Kiran Shyam Shroff and Ashmith Kunder, directed by Kushan Nandy and written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali, ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ is scheduled to release on August 25.

He is a talented and extraordinary actor who can steal the limelight away from the Khans when sharing screen space with them. That’s how gifted Nawazuddin Siddiqui is. He is one of those rare actors who adapts to any character and make you admire him for his work.

But before making it this big, when he was a junior artiste, he was told that people would not cast him because they would need ‘extra light’ to makes him ‘visible’.

Despite all this, he proved that there was no stopping him. After almost a decade, he is now one of the most appreciated actors in the industry. The fame that he has received today is absolutely deserved.

Lately, the actor has been in the spotlight because of a racism fiasco.

Thank U 4 making me realise dat I cannot b paired along wid d fair & handsome bcz I m dark & not good looking, but I never focus on that.

And, recently in an interview with IANS, he spoke about his early days where he had to struggle to make ends meet, and how he represents the majority of Indian people with dark skin and how people call him unusual.

He said, “In those days, I used to work on a daily basis for television shows as a junior artiste. Because of my brown complexion, people used to say, We can’t take you… we have to put extra light to make you visible, you are dark and we don’t have time.’ Even after 12 years, nothing much has changed. People call me ‘unusual’. They say that a dark skinned man is too unusual to become a hero of a mainstream film.”

“In our country, a majority of the population have dark skin complexion. Even I have dark complexion, which means I represent the majority. I want to ask, how am I ‘unusual’ when I represent the maximum,” he added.

He also feels that the makers should make a film on the “existing hypocrisy of our society”.

“I know it might make many people uncomfortable to accept the truth, but cinema should be the mirror of our society,” he stated.

Good point, Nawaz! After all, why do we keep obsessing about colour when we ourselves have the same skin tone and the majority of people in India are born with this colour? When will we stop talking about colour and broaden our horizons?

Many of us miss Saif Ali Khan’s presence on the silver screen. The actor was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s period drama, ‘Rangoon’, which crashed big time at the box office.

Though many criticised the script and the director, Saif’s acting was appreciated by the critics. And for all those who love him, let us tell you, he already has some amazing projects coming our way. So we have his film ‘Kaalakaandi’, ‘Chef’ remake and ‘Bazaar’ coming up, but what has caught everyone’s interest is his web series Sacred Games.

This is Netflix’s first star-studded Indian web-series, which is an adaptation of Vikram Chandra’s novel of the same name. We will see Saif playing a cop and now even Radhika Apte and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are roped in this project.

The news has made us all so excited! After all who wouldn’t want to see a series where we have these three wonderful actors all ready to entertain us. We already saw Nawaz and Radhika’s chemistry on-screen in ‘Manjhi’ and ‘Badlapur’, but we can’t wait to see these three together for the first time.

As per reports, Saif might fall in love but nothing much is revealed about the other two, making everyone more curious about their part. Well, all we can say is that this definitely looks like one hell of a series.

Actor Aamir Khan is a man of his word. If he says something, he makes sure that he does it as well. Just a few days ago, he took Twitter and talked about the Gujarat and Assam flood. He voiced his corned over the issues and requested his fans and followers to donate whatever they can to help their own brothers and sisters.

While everyone is just busy talking about the people who are suffering, Aamir Khan has taken a step forward and donated 25 lakh to the Assam government, proving that he is indeed a responsible citizen.

We got to know about Aamir’s good dead when Chief Minister tweeted out thanking the actor and wrote, “Thank you @aamir_khan for contributing Rs 25 Lakh towards Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund through Aamir Khan Productions Pvt. Ltd.”

— Sarbananda Sonowal (@sarbanandsonwal) July 31, 2017

As per the statistics by the State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), approximately 5,000 people have been affected by this disaster in Jorhat and Lakhimpur district. And around 366 people are living in the relief camps.

Even in past many actors like Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Shatrughan Sinha, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and others have volunteered towards the rehabilitation of the flood-affected victims.

For people who are still just thinking about how to help, let us tell you the floods have not just killed over 90 people but there are many who don’t even have a roof over their heads. Maybe this is reason to reach out to our people in whatever small way possible!

He came to the city of dreams with Rs 2,500 in his pocket and an ambition to make it big in films.

But before giving him his due, Mumbai tested Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s patience so much so that the actor has now become fear-proof.

“I have already faced so much in my life. I have seen that time when I didn’t even have a single penny in my pocket.

And it stayed like that for two-three years. I used to have lunch at one friend’s place, dinner at other’s and a third friend would get cigarettes for me.

“I came to Mumbai with Rs 2,500. If I again face a situation where I am left with just Rs 2,500, I would not feel like a failure. I am not afraid of anything,” Nawaz told PTI. His first Bollywood break was a small role in Aamir Khan’s “Sarfarosh”. The 43-year-old actor continued featuring in blink-and-you-miss-it roles in various films till “Gangs of Wasseypur” came and changed his fate.

Nawaz says he thought about leaving Mumbai a lot during his struggling days but he somehow held on to his dream as going back was not an option for him.

“For 12 long years, I kept waiting but it was my choice. I chose to stay and keep trying. I was prepared to go through all the pain to achieve my dream of becoming an actor. There were times when I felt like leaving Mumbai.

“But I did not want to return to my village as people had already told me that I could not be an actor. Returning to Delhi was also not possible as my batchmates from NSD would have said, ‘Aagya tu bhi vapas’ (You are also back). These were my fears.”

From doing walk-on parts to finally being the star of his own films, life has taken a 180 degree turn for Nawaz, but the actor says he is still unaffected by the success he has achieved.

“After ‘Gangs…’ I have been continuously busy. I did not get time to sit and analyse my success or stardom. My priority is to act and not think about stardom.

“Of course, perception of people has changed towards me, but I am still the same. The only change in me is as a performer. I have grown in my craft,” he says.

Nawaz says earning money and fame is not his aim and hence fear of losing them does not bother him.

“It is not about money, but the experience I have gained during my journey, which matters to me. The experience of rejection and failure is priceless. These things have made me what I am today. Whatever I have today is much more than what I ever expected. I feel very secure in my space.”

The actor admits his focus is on doing good cinema and making sensible choices.

“I choose my projects as per my sensibility. I never pick films to prove that I am different or to show that I can do something which no one else can. Time tells you what to do in life,” he says.

The actor’s latest release “Munna Michael”, which also features Tiger Shroff and newcomer Nidhi Agerwal, hit the screens today.
