Until last week, we were cribbing about Monday blues and wishing for this day to be eliminated from the calendar, but now that the first episode of Game of Thrones Season 7 premiered this morning, we have fallen in love with this day all over again. For those who have already seen it, let’s make it worse for those who didn’t watch it, by dropping spoilers (don’t take it seriously unless you want deadly fights to ensue in real life). Anyway, while our excitement was at the pinnacle as we eagerly waited for the story to unfold, there was one special appearance that turned into a major distraction for us all. As Arya Stark rode her horse, she met a fine young soldier from King’s Landing, singing a campfire song along with his fellow mates. That soldier was none other than ‘Shape of You’ singer Ed Sheeran. The moment we saw two of our favourite peeps in one frame, boy we lost our sh*t.

While some were visibly excited about Sheeran’s cameo, others were not too happy with his subtle introduction that didn’t add any kind of substance to the drama. He got an extensive screen space while Arya spoke to other soldiers and we guess that’s the only thing he and the fans signed up for. While the directors took a lot of pain to bring Jon Snow back from the dead, we don’t think Ed Sheeran will be brought back even in the first part of the next episode and FYI we don’t hate Ed Sheeran. In fact, in the few seconds of his appearance, he did manage to sway our hearts with his singing and that passionate gaze. Check out the scene here. Watch it at your own risk if you are up for spoilers.

Twitterati too couldn’t hold in their emotions and excitement and flooded the social media with funny tweets around Sheeran’s cameo.

Spoiler: the next six episodes are an Ed Sheeran concert.

If Arya doesn’t burn Ed Sheeran he’ll come back as a white walker and be playing Westeros Glastonbury for thousands of years. #GoTS7

Ed Sheeran’s Game of Thrones introduction had all the grace and nuance as the time Alice and the gang at Mel’s Diner met Jerry Reed

Arya: “That’s a pretty song.”
Ed Sheeran: “It’s a new one… off my brand new album, ‘Divide,’ in stores now!!!!”#GameOfThrones pic.twitter.com/nsAumXug7K

Only way to justify Ed Sheeran’s #GameOfThrones cameo is for him to greet Bran with: “When your legs don’t work like they used to before…”

The first episode was definitely a great start to this highly anticipated season, but what happens in the next episode is what’s killing us inside. Will Arya Stark fall in love with Ed Sheeran and his voice?  Or will she kill Sheeran and other soldiers? Maybe she can take him hostage and ask him to sing whenever she gets bored riding her horse.

Meanwhile here’s how some fans are feeling right now after getting tagged in GOT spoilers.
