Every time we think of Dharam paaji, the song ‘Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana’ instantly pops up in our head. The magic of the song is still so fresh in our minds that we can’t help but groove to its beat even now.

Well, the 70’s were all about Dharmendra’s quintessential persona and charm, as there was no one who wasn’t mesmerised by his aura. And when his sons Sunny and Bobby joined him for a movie, it was an absolute success.

The first installment of ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ brought the whole Deol family together in the most entertaining manner imaginable. Fans couldn’t have asked for more and the YPD franchise successfully managed to entertain the viewers.

‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ (2010) and ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ (2013) were loved for their quirky dialogues and spot-on humour. And now comes the third installment ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se’ which sadly fails to leave a mark on us.

It’s not the actors who disappoint, but the cliché and stale comedy that we have been seeing for a decade, which completely falls flat on its face. No doubt it’s great to see the trio together, but there is nothing fresh in their equation. It’s just the old cocktail in a new bottle.

Dharmendra is introduced to us as Yamla Parmar — a womaniser, who is full of life and young at heart. Sunny Deol is a ‘vaidh’ (Doctor) this time, whose ‘dhai-kilo-ka-haath’ cannot go unnoticed and Bobby Deol is someone who just aims to please women.

While some dialogues might crack you up, the rest leave you with a blank face. However, Bobby pulling off Dharam’s iconic drunk scene from ‘Sholay’, is something you just can’t miss. But we’ve got to admit that no one can recreate what Dharam paaji did!

Adding to the franchise this time is also Salman Khan, who joins the bandwagon as Mastana. Sadly, his cameo doesn’t add anything to the flick and we hope the film has something better to offer.
