Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films, just like him, are larger than life. We love his vision and the way he brings a character to life. Very few directors are as talented as Mr. Bhansali. Think great scripts, grand sets, beautiful (and deep) lyrics, soothing music, and an array of heart-wrenching dialogues combined with a set of great method actors—make an SLB movie stand out in Bollywood. And, even though Mr. Bhansali is busy with ‘Padmavati’, his next project ‘Gustakhiyan’ is already being touted as the next big release. Reason? The movie that was supposed to star Shah Rukh Khan now has Mister Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in it. Now isn’t that the news that makes you wonder why would anyone in their right mind pick Abhishek Bachchan instead of Shah Rukh Khan to play famous poet, Sahir Ludhianvi?
No matter how big you become, to them, you’ll always be their baby. #parents Photo courtesy – the big sis.
It’s a well established fact that Shah Rukh Khan is a better actor than Abhishek. It’s not like Abhishek is a bad actor, but looking at his work in the past 17 years, hardly couple of his movies (‘Guru’ and ‘Yuva’) have actually worked. Shah Rukh is a star and people love him. The movies he does easily makes it to the 100 crore club, while not the same can be said about Abhishek. Lately, SRK’s movie haven’t been performing that well but still he has his own charm that pulls a massive crowd to the theatres.
There are miles to travel, this way or that. And from where I am, it doesn’t really matter…only the journey does.
Well, only God and Sanjay Leela Bhansali will know the real reason for this. As they say, one actor’s loss is another (actor’s) gain. But we are guessing Shah Rukh Khan—being the King of Bollywood—doesn’t really mind losing a movie or ten. So here’s hoping Bhansali can work the same magic on Bachchan Jr….you know the one that made Sonam ACTUALLY act!
